The last Third quarter of the full moon for jewies... New moon rising for big jacks.... Sunrise Bite And Sunset Bite. Moon on the Horizon is bite time. Moon on the south pole or north pole is also bite time. (moon in the middle of the sky). Tides will always be a bigger factor although larger and bigger tides are dependant on the moon. Low tide and high tide bites. The last 15 minutes of a run out and run in tide always magic. Slack tide can be hit and miss but is a golden opportunity to drop on marks think about less current..15 minutes before any weather change. Sudden drops in temperature can shut fish off. Sudden peaks in temperature can do the same but usually switch fish on. Wind change either before or just after picks up fish will always bite. High Barometric pressures like 1850- 2000. Storms are dangerous but just before the weather turns to crap it usually switches fish on.
Best advice you have given in this video is if its good weather and you are free just go, fish still need to eat, you can still catch bass and jacks, cobia, spanish and marlin in the winter and jew, tailor, kings and Ajs in the summer. Just bloody send it!!!

Generally I find that the fish are switched on the day after I go fishing 🤪

Another thing ive found is look for a good biomass of baitfish. The jew and thready will not be too far away. If your area is looking like a marine desert on the surface or sounder, hard to get bait, move on. I generally have a good session if the place feels like a hive of activity.

Not really a guide on when to go or stay home, but makes a lot of sense.

Really like your attitude about not putting too many obstacles in the way and just get out there! One thing I have found is if I hook up to a decent Jewie, it's usually the end of any bites afterward. I haven't caught that many to be able to claim this is true for sure, but it really seems to be the case in my experience. Strange, because this hasn't been my experience with catching other fish. Wonder if anyone else has had this experience of fish getting spooked like this.

Good to see that you are out giving the Jewies a crack. As to shutting them down after losing one, you are not. Jewfish do laps of the area they are holding in just be patient and wait. They will come back around for another crack within an hour. Most times

Fishing in the west here. We find a northerly wind/current shuts the fishing down to. This is usually linked to a drop in the barametric pressure and approaching weather system.

I find when fishing baits live is best followed by fresh dead bait.Basically strive to get the freshest bait possible wether live or dead as it does help a lot.
Also geography, boat traffic, popularity of area fishes etc plays a big part in the estuaries and rivers.I can’t go offshore as I only have a small boat.
Great info mate and loving your channel.👍👍

Best tip I can give is start a log book and write down all the details. It’s all slightly different for each species and different areas but if you start logging you will work it out

    G'day Shannon
I've found here in Lake Macquarie NSW using plastics and vibes for jew if you start of with 20 lb line in the early morning and you don't start dropping the line thickness as the day rolls on towards the middle of the the day it definitely will turn the fish off
    Just my experience mate
    Cheers

Some great information shared mate, for me fishing inshore only up until just recently, I seem to catch more fish when fishing at sunrise or late arvo/nights, an hour or so after tide change, same as you I’ve never done any good fishing or even hunting over a full moon. Ps I picked up my fish keeper Jew from the pipe Saturday around midnight just off stradie, took me straight under the pipe but luckily come back out for me, cheers for the info and help mate
