    This really needs to have a disclaimer that it’s paid promotional material.

      Hey, thanks for watching.. The video is marked as Paid Promotion on RUclips and a banner comes up at the start of the vid.. Qidi sent us the printer to test out but thats as far as it goes, everything shown is our unbiased opinion. I wish I could say we were paid to make the video, it would help with cashflow.. 😅

      Ah I missed that RUclips banner!!! You can disregard my comment then haha. It just felt like there were very… scripted talking points. Having that banner is great though. No issues from me.
      I really enjoyed seeing your process of creating the design!!!

      @@playconveyor Blender is very cool but has a different workflow than CAD Modeling. You are working with vertices, edges, and faces. The very cool thing about this is, that you can modify every existing 3D Objekt like .stl files with Blender a lot more easily than with any CAD Tool. Blender has also a lot of addons which can give you a CAD "like" workflow. If you know how to use CAD and Blender, you are free in everything. In Blender you can also make realistic renderings and texturing your objects, which is also cool to see how it fits in an specific environment or something else.

    What I haven’t seen yet is some justification as to why Qidi’s heated chamber does better than balbu’s just insulated chamber or if the heated chamber allows it to work with fancier materials like nylon, etc.

    This is probably what I would call security by obscurity. But its a nice project for storing 'secret' things. I'd probably just put my keys in a keysafe though.

    • @playconveyor
      @playconveyor  2 месяца назад

      Yeah I mean rock stashes in general are pretty low security… like you said great for storing other secret bits or maybe some geocaching! But it was a fun little project to go on.. 😃

    Why do they even use a feeding tube at all ? I guess it's just easier to let the filament go into the Extruder without the tube

    • @playconveyor
      @playconveyor  2 месяца назад

      In this case it’s because the printer is fully enclosed, so the filament needs the tubing to guide in through the back of the printer into the tool head.. but direct feed into an extruder on printers like bed slingers is a better system usually..

    But it doesent have vanilla Klipper and the heater is mains powered.

    • @playconveyor
      @playconveyor  2 месяца назад +1

      We saw a few strip down videos this weekend too which mentioned the heater, it’s an interesting topic for sure, I can see some of the points raised for sure but 3D printers are still working machines in our eyes.. like woodworking, metalworking tools etc they need to be treated with respect and caution because there are electronic/moving parts that could cause injury… I think most printers still have a way to go to hit the ‘home appliance’ territory! Thanks for watching 😃

      @@playconveyor I forget to say, I used a stone effect aerosol spray paint for a Moonknight figurine and it is quite convincing, it is textured although it can be sanded smooth
