Even I, the guy that liked Vitamin R, thought that Feral EP and Canal Street Crook EP (with the exception of the title track, it's a 6.5/10 at the very least) were awful. Sooo...I found this month to be disappointing. My fav ones this month were either Ready Now, Asssasins, the Ellis and Throttle collab, Have It All, and Euphoria Rush.
I hate how Monstercat let free of that one mf from Dim Mak (Riot Ten) and the guy who runs around the Subsidia style (Codd Dubz). Their EP sucks. Also, as a dubstep fan, I can feel bad for you. Samplifire of course does non-dubstep drops, only if with Dirtyphonics... (Ex: Molitor on Disciple has the techno drop) but he also does have DnB track too (song name's Baka). Still, he's a dubstep artist.
@@JoshuaPeisach True, that's what I also used to listen first, and the best one, in my opinion. We all at first feels weird when talk about riddim and later can being ended up like it or not. Yours probably don't, but I've get used to it, and I can say there's better riddim songs than this. Additional thing is that many MCat fans said these riddim were sounds like from Disciple, and as a big dubstep fan I highly disagree. If everyone checked Subsidia, then they can believe that Riot Ten EP and Codd Dubz EP could've been on there (Glad that YOOKiE EP is NOT on MCat 😂☠️)
This is like 2 years in a row that August has just sucked. If this pattern keeps up, I'm dreading what October is going to be like. Best: Euphoria Rush, Wake Up, The Stars, Promises Worst: Canal Street Crook, Elbows to the Dome, Lock and Load, Bounce That, Goome, Save You VIP
The month that cemented the fact that this label isn't for me anymore. Unsubbed after 6 whole years. Honestly I'm scared towards the future of electronic music.. Edit. Ok, hayve, Chyl and Ellis were pretty good.
Imma be fr I am a fan of briddim/riddim and i do advocate for some of it to be on the label but the issue is that the execution isn't coming up to standard. It is pretty annoying that those who hate riddim gotta rub it in everyone else's face but when you got songs like Codd Dubz on the label its hard to defend. Cause idk how the quality control thought it was good enough. This when you know they be letting anyone in if they got enough listeners 😬 but my summary for this ngl i think Riot Ten & INFEKT - All Black was the best song off of Riot Ten's EP as i loop it often for its flow, simplicity in the briddim in. Kinda wasnt a exact fan of Samplifire's song here, considering he made better in 2021. Skybreak & CHYL made peak and are continuing they streak on the label, also dude can we stop with the tech house spam on both labels both Punctual, Curbi and WHIPPED CREAM made mid 😭 at least Ellis made the most fun and peak EP on instinct now as of recent (Promises being my favorite), Arcando's song was fine and basic, type of thing id like but for some reason i just havent had it grow on me. I wasnt really a fan of the new Retrovision song, WAYYYYY too basic for me and not complex like Take Me Higher or Break It Down, Sabai & Kermode's VIP was just mid to below average drum & bass i dont care for. VØJ's songs was fine but i kinda was expecting more. Aint a huge synthwave guy unless its funky or sum. Alan Walker's whole EP is just trash. I mean its nothing special, you could put it to NCS and not a difference wouldve been made. Some goes for yetep and even Conro's recent song sadly, at least yetep and Conro sounded better than Alan Walker though. Fairlane & Jason Ross's song was eh, its fine. Not my thing but i appreciate the diversity on instinct, reminds me of 2018 instinct. Afinity did fine with Ready Now, my only gripe is that i wish the drop had complexity in structure than just one note of groooooowwwwllll. Hayve jus made typical neurofunk, nothing rly special. Dont care for it, i prefer their dubstep than their drum & bass unless they make something actually memorable. Codd Dubz shouldve just made better, it would be disrespectful to him if i said he shouldn't have been on monstercat but the issue is some of the fans there are hella biased against riddim and if you release any bad riddim, you aint gonna get the best reception. Especially Riot Ten cause god Riot Ten could make something with Au5's quality and people would STILL find a way to hate on the man still. Speaking of Riot Ten's like i said, most songs i wasnt a fan but i only really liked All Black. Overall, i didnt have a bad time this month despite the abundance of riddim around, but i do wanna say i dont rly mess with the hate cause yall acting like there aint better briddim songs on monstercat at all, saying stuff like how it fell off. I get it, i can't defend all songs if they literally sound trashy but to say a whole label fell off cause of said month kind of is an overstatement. I aint even tryna be glazing either i jus think yall gotta chill, every month theres that one or two song thats the best thing weve had all day or pure trash. And it just has been like that, even in the past. Aight yap sesh over, alright ranking 👍

#29 - zadinx gave this a 3.25/10 in his ranking of Codd Dubz's EP with hexnight. The highest one I've seen thus far but still quite bad. As he says it himself in the description of that video, it's the "potentially extremely controversial ep" #28 - Also, Codd Dubz is notorious as even some Disciple fans dislike his Finesse The World EP. I'd imagine it'd be no different here with this EP here on Monstercat #27 - Oh good lord #26 - Pretty standard for SampliFire's standards. Nothing too crazy. #25 - These two EPs are slowly turning me into bootleg Cringe Department with those reasonings #24 - We banging to metal pipe sound effect with this one 🗣🔥 #23 - Goofy ahh lyrics #22 - Even Vitamin R is tame compared to much of this EP #21 - INFEKT bringing his style over to this isn't too bad but I feel like much of the Veggie Games EP has more of his charm than that one #20 - Not really necessary, just generally forgettable #19 - Even I don't know what WHIPPED CREAM might be cooking next, but it all depends on whether I like the concept or not #18 - Basic darksynth #17 - What #16 - This isn't bad, it's just not really very attention-grabbing and kinda repetitive at times #15 - The Alan Walker leads are prevalent here #14 - I think Conro feels a lot more comfortable around house. If it works it works but it just doesn't feel like a Conro song tho #13 - Also this just feels like any other house song that's not too bad but I'd be likely to skip #12 - Really good #11 - Curbi moment #10 - Melodic dubstep is starting to blend together with the general sounds used and whatnot. It's not a bad thing, simply can't go wrong with it, but I wish they could've done more with it. #9 - This is so reminiscent of Pixel Terror #8 - Rare Punctual W? #7 - Yeah DC is understanding the hayve hype. I fell in love with it way earlier #6 - God ellis is so good. Also great to see the two back after the For Me VIP (which ellis ghost produced btw) #5 - I fuck with this DnB song #4 - This is a strong upload for the whole EP #3 - RetroVision doing RetroVision things, and also DYSON killing it with the vocals as always #2 - Same deal as #6 basically (he's cracked) #1 - Skybreak told all of his fans about a collab that absolutely no one expected on his Twitter, and we were all given a lot of time to guess. The announcement of the Monstercat listen party on the Discord server with him and CHYL gave it away, and someone guessed it correctly, which led to this. This shit is right up my alley
The thing with Alan Walker is that he definitely makes good music, but now he is such a big name it's no longer unique or special anymore. If that makes sense.

I love Riddim, and I’m glad we got both Infekt and SampliFire here but man did they drop two of the worst EP’s ever (Riot Ten and Codd Dubz)
codd dubz was underwhelming ngl
Damn, disciple really couldn't handle the riddim anymore 💀☠️

Yeah this month kinda sucked
Ok so I was kinda hopeful for once about Monstercat’s direction with the Solomon France stuff, but dammit they prove me wrong every time
Lmfao Bounce That is hilarious af
Even I, the guy that liked Vitamin R, thought that Feral EP and Canal Street Crook EP (with the exception of the title track, it's a 6.5/10 at the very least) were awful. Sooo...I found this month to be disappointing.
My fav ones this month were either Ready Now, Asssasins, the Ellis and Throttle collab, Have It All, and Euphoria Rush.
As someone who also liked Vitamin R, I 100% agree with everything you said except for some of your favs
Finally someone who dislikes Save You VIP!
Also my favorite track of the month is Real Love
dc questioning his content strategy after this one 🔥🗣️
you're right, this is the worst month in monstercat history.
I think the only artists that manage to do riddim well are Sullivan King and Svdden Death. Every other riddim song sounds exactly the same.
I'm talking with others and I just don't feel like Riddim is Dubstep.. but they say it is. It just does not feel like Dubstep.
@@JoshuaPeisach (Late reply)
Riddim is of course, known as a dubstep's subgenre. It was confirmed back then in 2010 when Jakes - Custard exists.
@@lopud_vn I think the kind of dubstep im used to people just refer to as “brostep”. Thats the kind of like dubstep im used to
@@JoshuaPeisach True, that's what I also used to listen first, and the best one, in my opinion.
@@lopud_vn it’s like saying phonk is house, technically true but it sounds so different
Just imagine if Riot Ten and Codd Dubz collaborated
El comentario con mas likes, le gusta Save you VIP
wake up was a nice birthday release. I hope it grows on me as well
This is like 2 years in a row that August has just sucked. If this pattern keeps up, I'm dreading what October is going to be like.
Best: Euphoria Rush, Wake Up, The Stars, Promises
Worst: Canal Street Crook, Elbows to the Dome, Lock and Load, Bounce That, Goome, Save You VIP
You can't imagine how painful it is for a riddim fan to have to see these songs come in last with 1/10 😭
well at least euphoria rush is 10/10
3:44 Why the hell riot ten gotta make this kinda thing with the album cover bro 😭
what u talking about
btw this is a fanmade vid (not the background/coverart tho)
@@melodieisreal I’m saying it’s kinda weird of riot ten making a track like ‘sunset sonata’ with knowing that cover art for the EP
why did i laugh when u showed a pic of lifeline from apex like bruh-...
Alan's stuff on NCS is way better (except for Dreamer).
Uncaged last month: Oops! All DnB! Was relatively solid.
Uncaged this month: Oops! All Riddim! Absolutely tanked.
HIGHLIGHTS: Assassins, Ready Now, Movements, Have It All, ellis EP, Euphoria Rush
#29 - zadinx gave this a 3.25/10 in his ranking of Codd Dubz's EP with hexnight. The highest one I've seen thus far but still quite bad. As he says it himself in the description of that video, it's the "potentially extremely controversial ep"
#28 - Also, Codd Dubz is notorious as even some Disciple fans dislike his Finesse The World EP. I'd imagine it'd be no different here with this EP here on Monstercat
#27 - Oh good lord
#26 - Pretty standard for SampliFire's standards. Nothing too crazy.
#25 - These two EPs are slowly turning me into bootleg Cringe Department with those reasonings
#24 - We banging to metal pipe sound effect with this one 🗣🔥
#23 - Goofy ahh lyrics
#22 - Even Vitamin R is tame compared to much of this EP
#21 - INFEKT bringing his style over to this isn't too bad but I feel like much of the Veggie Games EP has more of his charm than that one
#20 - Not really necessary, just generally forgettable
#19 - Even I don't know what WHIPPED CREAM might be cooking next, but it all depends on whether I like the concept or not
#18 - Basic darksynth
#17 - What
#16 - This isn't bad, it's just not really very attention-grabbing and kinda repetitive at times
#15 - The Alan Walker leads are prevalent here
#14 - I think Conro feels a lot more comfortable around house. If it works it works but it just doesn't feel like a Conro song tho
#13 - Also this just feels like any other house song that's not too bad but I'd be likely to skip
#12 - Really good
#11 - Curbi moment
#10 - Melodic dubstep is starting to blend together with the general sounds used and whatnot. It's not a bad thing, simply can't go wrong with it, but I wish they could've done more with it.
#9 - This is so reminiscent of Pixel Terror
#8 - Rare Punctual W?
#7 - Yeah DC is understanding the hayve hype. I fell in love with it way earlier
#6 - God ellis is so good. Also great to see the two back after the For Me VIP (which ellis ghost produced btw)
#5 - I fuck with this DnB song
#4 - This is a strong upload for the whole EP
#3 - RetroVision doing RetroVision things, and also DYSON killing it with the vocals as always
#2 - Same deal as #6 basically (he's cracked)
#1 - Skybreak told all of his fans about a collab that absolutely no one expected on his Twitter, and we were all given a lot of time to guess. The announcement of the Monstercat listen party on the Discord server with him and CHYL gave it away, and someone guessed it correctly, which led to this. This shit is right up my alley
Putting goome that low is a crime
Best: Promises
Worst: Same, honestly most of the bottoms songs can be tied for worst 💀
ellis cooked with that EP
I agree, Back To Life is BO24 material
If the vid had just started at 2:28.......
GOOME has grown off me hard, I used to really like it but now the sounds started to get on my nerves lol
Rankings seem just about right for DCRanks. Also not sure where the hate for Alan Walker is...
The thing with Alan Walker is that he definitely makes good music, but now he is such a big name it's no longer unique or special anymore. If that makes sense.
Alan Walker
Ofc this August isn't better than 2023 but it's definitely way better than 2022's
edit: W for the hidden rating on 14 grams
I disagree, at least you can laugh from This Is The Moment (Horns Version) or OddKidOut - Cinema (including Fame & Fortune VIP).
Yeah. All the riddim stuff wasn’t hitting at all
this gonna be bad…
Same here, especially for Codd Dubz and Riot Ten's EP purge.
Why is monstercat signing the worst riddim artists no one likes instead of the creative ones from the underground scene???? Like they're making the worst possible descisions and turning ppl off, making them think the genre is trash
Monstercat needs reconquista !!

if it wasnt for the top 5 in your list along with ellis this mightve been one of the worst months in recent memory im glad arcando and zack martino and fking vikkstar and retrovision coming back
worst month for monstercat in a LOOOOONG time IMO, with the exception being "Have it All" as my only song above like an 8/10... which pains me because I normally like riddim & filler house
October 2023 was better in terms of Dubstep, but this month is good by no reason (thanks Riot Ten for ruining it)
Here My Ranking
Best:Neon Night EP By Alan Walker, Have It All, Ignite By Arcando, Euphoria Rush, Wake Up By Jason Ross, Brighter Days, All Ellis EP
Decent:Movement (with Laminar & PVE)
Songs I Don't Like:Save You VIP (Original Is Better)
Worst:I Am God (with Nostalgix), Feral EP, All Codd Dubz EP (Didn't Like Boring Riddim And Terrible Rap), Goome (Disciple's Riddim Again), Brain On Drugs (with Curbi)
Edit:We Got 2 Boring Riddim EP On This Month
bounce that hurts my brain too
I guess I'm in the minority of liking this month
I saw that Riddim eps and had to come running here 😭but to your credit I love riddim but that shit is ASSSSS
This was my worst birthday month 😔
What a Month!! Idk what to say abot this kkkjj
i swear i like goome more than any of samy's (post-)viking riddim EPs lol
1:38 is literally just a dlion rip off
As someone who likes heavy dubstep like minatory and deathstep, the riddim songs here are unbearable lmfao I genuinely prefer white noise over all of them (Also wtf is bounce that, that 'track' is god awful)
Since you're into Deathstep, can you tell me what's the difference between Minatory and Dungeon?
I actually enjoyed riot ten's first 3 songs...then the whole ep came out and was disappointed
Alan Walker.
Always a riddim…
Correct 1st
Am I the only one who likes GOOME 💀💀💀
no, out of every other riddim track that has come out it's way better even though it's kind of an average song for samplifire
@@KKris-hI mean who finds it awesome
I used to like it but it got annoying as hell overtime for me lol
i like Goome, but he could've done better instead of making it like a briddim version of play it twice
@@pppolydev yea I realized how terribly generic it is lmao
Horrendous month lol
Retrovision could have done more. Its pretty boring after a few listens
I swear, either peeps just grow up and accept the fact that riddim is here and respect it or they just trash it with no respect.
And if this vid shows too much disdain, I'm sorry but please rethink everything.
Always watch your words, be respectful to all artists, and you'll be respected.
@@idkwhothisman nah we need to bring back bullying
I hope this will not turn into the collapse of mental health.
i don't mind riddim/trench being on the label but there's a very clear difference in quality and creativity when you compare these two ep's to something like infekts
@@DCRankslost a lot of respect for you here. your channel objectively doesn’t exist without artists, the last thing you should be doing is bullying them
@@DCRanks This reply right here perfectly explains why I DONT watch ranking vids like this anymore
