Nice job getting this out so early. The only thing that held me back last year were the rims. The 2018 looks to have similar but more acceptable looking rims to me (5:18). You guys do a great job please keep it up... if I lived in a your area I would go out of my way to do business with the dealerships that work with you.
Great review that holds up 5 years later. Update on car: We had this car for a little over 4 years now and not 1 issue. My wife is the primary driver and has put 34K miles on it so far. We took it to the mechanic recently for routine maintenance and he suggested changing the tires very soon.
Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Kelly Blue Book, Auto Guide and all the major automotive reviewing outlets have awarded it top honors... too good for the competition 🥇
Thank you Mason for including your height because that really gives an idea of how much extra legroom is in the back of a vehicle so much appreciated excellent review also guys.
Bought one a month ago and have to say I like the prior version better. The engine in the EX is loud and grindy. Also, lots of road and wind noise. Loudest car I have owned. The control panel is confusing and convoluted. Hard to use standing still and especially while driving. The radio antenna reception is horrendous. I am 40 miles from NYC and have always been able to receive stations from there. With this car many NYC stations have static and go in and out of reception. Seats are less comfortable than prior version. I had to immediately bring the car back for service (within a week) because 3 of the 4 wheels were out of alignment. I was told it was a factory glitch. This is my fourth CRV but will most likely be my last.
Pay attention! There's a lot of complaints about 2017 Honda CRV. Because of more short trips , more city driving and cold weather, the gas is mixing in the oil of the new 2017 Honda CR-V. The 1.5 liter engine does not warm up sufficiently in cold weather and short trips , runs rich, and leaves un-combusted gas in the oil. This triggers engine warning lights and requires frequent oil changes. Engine performance and drivability suffer. This problem is also being reported on social media by other Honda CR-V owners who drive in colder climates. We are concerned that it is causing long term damage to the engine of the new vehicle. I caution prospective buyers to postpone the purchase of a 2017 or newer 2018 Honda CR-V with the 1.5 liter engine until Honda solves to this problem. The fifth generation CR-V is an excellent car in many respects, but this is a major problem. I cannot recommend the car, particularly to those who drive in colder climates, until a fix is found.
I spent long time thinking on which one to get between CR-V Touring and Accord Touring 2.0L both 2018 year models. Now just waiting on my Accord to arrive after Christmas and can’t wait
a friend of mine bought the touring with a lot of accessories and the total was around 40k. she drives the car 10-15mins to work and the weather where we live is usually cold in the morning. we checked the oil few times and it smells like it has a gas in it. her crv is the 2017 model with the 1.5 turbo cvt. honda dealership where she purchased the car told her that the smell of gas in the oil is normal and they dont have any info about that problem. weird how these "stealeships" change page when there is a problem with the vehicles they sell ha
Why not give the top trim cooled seats or a surround view camera, or more hp? Is it because it would chdnge into a murano? Which despite more hp goes more miles per tank. Why do reviewers think the new Crv is aggresive looking? probably the swme reason the crv gets praised for having a volume knob! oMG! Did the 1. 5 L get recalled yet? For the oil dillution problem. So much for xhonda reliability!
I don't see anything aggressive about the CRV. I picked up the 2018 Accord and it's very butch, but the CRV is no where near. Honda needs to get cues from the Rav4 on making CUVs macho.
I sold my accord EX and bought the crv. I wish I had my 2004 accord back. Cr-v stereo is horrible. No cd player for my audio library books for long trips. The outside noise is terrible. I am so disappointed. Cr-v seats hurt my back so bad I can't drive more than an hour. My hubby has a 2018 Honda Ridgeline and his seats are very uncomfortable too. He had a 2003 Pilot and it was awesome but, he got rid of it after 401k miles. I have owned hondas all my life and now I am totally disappointed in Honda. Please folks, rent one for a month before you buy.
Great review! Wish the crv was on the accord platform instead of the civic. The steering seems cheap and not as luxurious. If only they put the accords interior in here with the 2.0 turbo.
What about the reason for adding a turbo charged engine--Honda reduced engine size and it lost power so they added a turbo charger to the motor to increase power. Turbo engines are notorious for failure.
I just bought a 2018 CR-V LX and I'm having a hard time finding a tutorial on how to use this particular model. My prior auto was extremely old (25 yrs old) so I'm not up-to-date on these cars. How can I get good information? The owner's manual is not very helpful, otherwise, the car is in mint condition.
Do you have any comments regarding the gas / oil problem with the I4 turbo that caused the Chinese recall / sales ban? It's also being reported in Canada and disproportionate engine problem complaints are being recorded with the American NHTSA. It seems it mostly affects customers in the northern climates. I ask because I was going to buy a 2018 EXL and now am reticent to do that until the problem is reliably corrected - especially living in Buffalo! Thoughts?
I have had a 2017 crv touring with 46,450.00 miles on It. I live in Utah with very cold winters my car always stays outside, I have never had a problem with it. It has always run smoothly and PERFECT and no problems, I love this car I traded it in for a new 2018 crv touring and so far so good. Love my Honda touring
midsize accord vs compact crv. I find the accord significantly more spacious, fitting five more easily. Not to mention the ventilated seats option and much more premium feel
Actually, the CR-V’s back legroom is the same 40.4”. However, the CR-V has reclining back seats with an almost flat floor (unlike the Accord which has a hump in the middle) making seating more comfortable for 5 passengers.
I have to disagree about space for 5. The CR_V Second row Hip Room is 49.5" vs the Accord's much more spacious 55.0". Second Shoulder Room is 55.6". vs Accord's larger 56.5". Yes the flat floor favors the CR-V, but the Accord's isn't all that bad, and but hip room is most important when squeezing 3 together. In regards to the CR_V's recline, it's quite insignificant, as it only reclines a few degrees which the Accord's fixed seatback position surely matches.
pretty sure cargo space CR-V trumps the accord. not to mention a fully loaded accord is more expensive. if you go for roadtrips, biking or skiing, the CR-V is much more practical
Hi there, have been watching your videos of late and really liking them. Have you done a review on the 7 seater CRV? If not, then I certainly look forward to it. There are some reviews for it but I like the way you go into every detail... hope you are reading!
One reason is that it can add natural light into the cabin when you want it, and it can add fresh airflow without the wind hitting you right in the face/ear like an open window does at high speeds.
Is there USB outlets in the back seats for the EX trim? Aside the leather and custom seat settings, what other difference is there in the EX and EX-L? I am looking at purchasing a 2017, since there is no difference between that and 2018, correct? What about the hands free access for the lift gate? Which trim has that feature?
The difference between the EX and EX-L is quite frankly not that much besides for the leather seating (like you mentioned). You do get a power tailgate on EX-L, but it's not hands-free until you get the Touring. And no, the 2017 and 2018 are basically identical. There might be some packaging/color differences, but for the general consumer you will not notice the difference. Hope that helps!
You mentioned that the LX doesn't come with the robust keyfob / autostart as well as the 1.5L Turbo charged engine, but my wife and I bought one 4 days ago and ours did come with it. We got the AWD variant of the LX though. Ours also comes with the Honda Safety Sense, push to start and also the display. The display has no Navi though but we can use Android Auto to sync the GPS from Google Maps. Not sure if it makes a difference if in Canada or US.
Nope, I got the LX AWD. It says on my paper work and I spent literally 3 hours with my rep talking through the sale. Like I said, my vehicle is purchased in Canada so it could be different how it works in the US or other parts of the world.
Fuel economy according to this guy comes in at 420 miles for the 2018 HONDA CRV ALL WHEEL DRIVE and,406 miles for CRV ALL WHEEL DRIVE. I have a 2019 honda crv ex awd and i can only fill up to 381 miles. WHY?

On hands free tailgate is not on the LX and EX model. It should be very clear of this feature. Even the owner's guide is not VERY clear of this. I guess one book for all trims? What were you thinking Honda!!!
Just bought mine in WA, 2018 EXL for 31k OTD. Date is 12/2018 price 27k + 150 doc + 700 tags = about 31k Comment, not strong car, lots of electronic controll, remote start is basic now, not optional and no room for dealer to rob you. Good job honda, i dont like it but the car is not bought for me anyway
Yes, there is always an advantage to having all four wheels helping you out when off-road or in adverse weather conditions. Of course, the CR-V is not made for anything hardcore, but if you are frequently are off pavement it'll definitely give you the extra security of not spinning or getting stuck.
Hi Thomas! Thanks for watching! And to answer your question, the CR-V has 41.3 inches of front legroom (which is quite big for any class of vehicle). That said, we're only 5' 7"ish , so we don't know for sure... Hope that was a little helpful👍
Make sure it's unlocked, make a quick kicking motion under the center of the bumper, and don't leave your foot under there for more than a second. It takes practice
GREAT video! I was at the dealer today getting my oil changed in my 09 Fit Sport. I forgot to ask them so I'll ask you guys. IS the Honda Sensing able to be turned off fully? Such as the forward collision mitigation, can I go into the settings and turn it off fully so I wouldn't have to turn it off every time I turn the vehicle on?
I'm honestly not sure. Obviously you can turn the stuff off, but I have no idea if it turns back on at every restart. I'll investigate this in the next Honda I am in.
So what if the 1.5L gets two more MPG. If you drive 10,000 miles in one year that would equate to a difference of around $75 PER YEAR - while you are losing over two thousand a year on depreciation. Two more MPG is meaningless, especially when you add up all the other costs - including a high stress turbo engine that won't last as long as a normally aspirated one. Classic pinching pennies on gas when you're getting hosed on the other stuff. Makes no sense to me. The importance of fuel mileage gets way more attention than it deserves. The only meaningful advantage of the turbo is that it generates it's max torque at a much lower RPM, thereby making it more drivable. But do you want the added complexity and long-term cost of a trubo to get that advantage? I guess it depends on a test drive. Frankly, I wish Honda would put the 2.4L in the Touring. Then, maybe I'd buy one.
I have heard these have oil dilution issues, and was wondering, would NC would face this problem? My grandmother really wants to look at it but I (as a Automotive student) need to make sure this issue is not going to occur in a southern climate such as NC. Its not looking good as Honda will not address the problem. www.hondaproblems.com/trends/crv-oil-contamination/
Tamara Farland Honda gives you very little in the LX trims because they don’t expect you to buy it. They want you to buy the higher trims. This is especially obvious on the Odyssey
TripleX they could have upgraded the infotainment screen to match the accord but i think they wanted the more luxury sedan to keep up with the practical sedan
It looks very yesterday, to me; both interior and exterior. The technology is limited, also. Just my opinion, Testing the audio system is a waste of time; it will never sound any better than my computer.
Oh no, no cassette player either? Cmon... get with the program. I mean, you dont need sirius but I only listen to aux/bluetooth and FM. You do still have AM since apperantly that's your style.
Honda really screwed themselves this time making the stupid turbo only engine in CRV and Accord. I finally realized they were only interested in cheap skates who cared about MPG. I have the reliable 2.4 in my 2014 CRV and 3.0 in my Accord. Guess we are going to buy Toyota Camry where the 4 and the 6 are still available.
Nice job getting this out so early. The only thing that held me back last year were the rims. The 2018 looks to have similar but more acceptable looking rims to me (5:18). You guys do a great job please keep it up... if I lived in a your area I would go out of my way to do business with the dealerships that work with you.
We appreciate that! :)
The rims are identical between the '17 &' 18.
Bought my 2018 crv 1.5 turbo AWD new with 6 miles, looks just like the black one highlighted. it only has 35k miles now. Great reliable car
Great review that holds up 5 years later.

So far the Best review of the CRV 2018. Thank you
I bought a LX and love it .... has everything I need and no wasteful option that break with age ! I want to get 500000 miles out this CRV!
I'm curious too
Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Kelly Blue Book, Auto Guide and all the major automotive reviewing outlets have awarded it top honors... too good for the competition 🥇
I have had my 2018 CR-V LX now for 4 months and I just LOVE it 💯
Great review 👍🏽
How's its sound/noise insulation on the highway? Also will its CVT be too loud during accelerating or going uphill? Thanks.
Here's a review on one of the most popular vehicles in the US: the 2018 Honda CR-V! Enjoy, and don't forget to hit those LIKE and SUBSCRIBE buttons :)
My favorite Honda SUV!! Great review bro.
Thank you very much for speaking slowly and clearly and without the usual very annoying background music.
Glad you liked it! Happy New Year!

I have had my crv for 2 days I love it ! Your review helped a lot giving me a great review of all the features. ThankYou.
So glad to hear that! And congrats on your new CR-V!
I'll trade in my 2011 Nissan rogue S to get this. Very vehicle. I really like that blindspot indicator
I spent long time thinking on which one to get between CR-V Touring and Accord Touring 2.0L both 2018 year models. Now just waiting on my Accord to arrive after Christmas and can’t wait

Wonderful. I'm in love with that CRV. Well done guys. Your reviews are so consistent.

my new FIT has it , it is the main reason why I bought it , it already paid off having it , I love my FIT
Love my CRV
This was an amazing video, thank you very much. is there any diffference between the 2017 and the 2018?
+Cźar Mephisto Ascension Thanks! There are no changes from 2017 to 18 besides for small price increases across all trims. Thanks for watching!
personally love the crvs blinkers because it blinks like an escalade

Pls are there any differences in the length of the driving shaft between the 2017, 2018 and 2019 or the trim level? Kindly help.
What a detailed comparative video. Thank you 😊
Glad it was helpful!
This is a great video 😎. Greetings from Slovenia 🇸🇮

I was wondering the same thing. Does NC have to worry?
Its global issue sir. They will update the system and release out with 2019 crv. I would wait till they fixed it.

Fantastic review! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Very good presentation.
midsize accord vs compact crv.
I wasn't referring to cargo volume. Just passenger volume.
Does the Accord have that god awful CVT transmission? I love this CRV but, I don't want to pay 35-42K for one of those CVT transmissions.
I’m from Ghana in West Africa. How much can I get the 2017 used type? And the shipping cost too
Which engine is preferred the 1.5 or 2.4?
Hi there, have been watching your videos of late and really liking them. Have you done a review on the 7 seater CRV? If not, then I certainly look forward to it. There are some reviews for it but I like the way you go into every detail... hope you are reading!
Thanks, glad you like our vids! Unfortunately, here in the U.S at least, a 7 seater CR-V does not exist so we will not be able to review it ☹️
Nicely done!!
Thanks!
Why does everyone want a moonroof? I don't and wish it were an option I could not choose.
Sidney ive had one on my last 2 cars and never use it. I think its for smokers.
I love moonroofs and miss having it. I love the extra light coming in on a sunny day And the extra airflow.
One reason is that it can add natural light into the cabin when you want it, and it can add fresh airflow without the wind hitting you right in the face/ear like an open window does at high speeds.
Superb review... very thorough and very professional. 👍🏼
Thanks!
Andrew Nguyen Canada and US version are huge different ! Canada always getting better features at lower trim
It comes with that here Stateside
Fuel economy according to this guy comes in at 420 miles for the 2018 HONDA CRV ALL WHEEL DRIVE and,406 miles for CRV ALL WHEEL DRIVE. I have a 2019 honda crv ex awd and i can only fill up to 381 miles. WHY?
Super thorough video, thanks.
Glad you liked it!

Loved the video until you said you weren’t flipping me off.....really detailed and high quality video.

Good review job.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
On hands free tailgate is not on the LX and EX model. It should be very clear of this feature. Even the owner's guide is not VERY clear of this. I guess one book for all trims? What were you thinking Honda!!!
But with the 1.5 L you get OIL DILUTION PROBLEMS!
great vid

Just bought mine in WA, 2018 EXL for 31k OTD. Date is 12/2018 price 27k + 150 doc + 700 tags = about 31k
Comment, not strong car, lots of electronic controll, remote start is basic now, not optional and no room for dealer to rob you. Good job honda, i dont like it but the car is not bought for me anyway
Great video... thanks! Are there any differences between the 2017 and 2018 touring models?
Thanks! And no, there were not any changes
Car Confections living in Florida and on dirt roads and liking to go on dirt roads and the beach is there a real advantage to AWD. Again Thank You

Hi, I’m 6”6” will I have enough room and not feel cramped in the CRV?
Hi Thomas! Thanks for watching! And to answer your question, the CR-V has 41.3 inches of front legroom (which is quite big for any class of vehicle). That said, we're only 5' 7"ish , so we don't know for sure... Hope that was a little
helpful👍
im 6 feet 2 it has plenty of room for me
Like your videos good job.
Can anyone please tell me how to open the hands free tailgate on my 2018 touring cuz I try so much it takes a while to recognize😂
Make sure it's unlocked, make a quick kicking motion under the center of the bumper, and don't leave your foot under there for more than a second. It takes practice
Is there a CD player to this??
There is no CD available on the 2018 CR-V. Thanks for watching!
Car Confections Alrighty sounds great!
Not everything but a couple can be. Remember as long as that feature isn’t live threatening when it’s off
Live Leak I asked because I’d rather have a LX with no Honda Sensing rather then turning it off every time.
yes some of the features can be turned off
Mobilnya SGT bagus keren
So what if the 1.5L gets two more MPG. If you drive 10,000 miles in one year that would equate to a difference of around $75 PER YEAR - while you are losing over two thousand a year on depreciation.
The turbo has oil dilution issues as well that Honda refuses to recall
That's very good
I have heard these have oil dilution issues, and was wondering, would NC would face this problem? My grandmother really wants to look at it but I (as a Automotive student) need to make sure this issue is not going to occur in a southern climate such as NC. Its not looking good as Honda will not address the problem. www.hondaproblems.com/trends/crv-oil-contamination/
Okayy sounds like if I'm looking to invest in a Honda CR-V the EX is the way to go. "All but the Lx" heard this many times! LOL
Tamara Farland Honda gives you very little in the LX trims because they don’t expect you to buy it. They want you to buy the higher trims. This is especially obvious on the Odyssey
2018 Honda CR-V: Full Review | Touring EX-L, EX & LX
What's that leaking out the tailpipe?? Gas.
It's just condensation (water vapor) since it was cold outside. Thanks for watching!
Give me review on theHRV
Its on the radar! Stay tuned!
I test drove one of these, and actually, the sound quality is awful in these.
The 2018 Honda CRV with the 1.5 L Turbo has proven to be a problematic engine. Think twice before you buy one
Honda really can't upgrade one thing on the 2018 model? Lol shows how much they care.
TripleX they could have upgraded the infotainment screen to match the accord but i think they wanted the more luxury sedan to keep up with the practical sedan
Wow...you have really nice hands. Did you have a manicure before shooting the video?
Nope haha
Honda seems to be hiring Toyota designers lately.. Such an ugly front end..
Lol turbo to get two more mpg? You’ve gotta be kidding me. I bet the turbo costs a lot more too
Noel E, You need to pay close attention to what she is saying about the turbo.
All the owner of crv honda 1.5 l turbo ,please open and take out your dipstick and smell, you will know it and will run to dealership right away lol.
It looks very yesterday, to me; both interior and exterior. The technology is limited, also. Just my opinion,
Testing the audio system is a waste of time; it will never sound any better than my computer.
Its Factory
Honda is tripping...
No CD player???
THIS CAR IS USELESS....
Go home granny. CD is too two thousands and late!
molarois morais how about 8 track?
A lot of the newer cars do not have CD players...all of them have MP3 now, I just use Sirrus now.
Oh no, no cassette player either? Cmon... get with the program. I mean, you dont need sirius but I only listen to aux/bluetooth and FM. You do still have AM since apperantly that's your style.
well, its not the 90s. i love the 90s though😁
Yes Lee majority of ppl do care about MPG...not everyone wants a gas guzzler. This is 2018 not 1970's or 80's.
6 cyl wont be available no longer in the Camry.
