The bells were overhauled by Taylors in 1960, and put in a new bell frame, so it is quite possible that the bells have Taylors headstocks instead of the originals. The bells were not retuned. See Dove's online guide. There was an opinion, often expressed by people near to Loughborough, that Gillett's headstock pattern was a copy of Taylors. (I make no comment either way).
An interesting sound. I love gillett bells such as Clerkenwell, Coventry Cathedral etc. These sound a bit more old fashioned like pre simson tuning. Iwonder when gilletts changed there tuning.
@@timmeh1507 the tenor sounds a bit doughy. Also the headstock look more like Taylor's than Gillets. Pity my old man isn't alive, he was a Whitechapel bell hanger and im sure he would know.. I think a. It of retuning would make them cracking not that they are bad. They are nice. Perhaps its just the tenor
@@fredmills368 ok thanks. They are lovely bells. I Sad to think gillets stopped making bells. They made some fantastic bourdons. Would love to have heard the 53cwt prewar St Mary le bow peal.
So nice to hear good striking. And so rare on RUclips.

Nice ringing. What type of camera did you use in the belfry? It copes well with the bells.
Re3?
What are the beams for in the middle of the ringing chamber floor?
