Agree to an extent but... Gordon is also extremely technical, he doesnt rely on brute force to win matches alone. Strength is important esp in regards to explosive strength to be able to scramble, sweeps etc... I think a part of the reason schools and practitioners focus on technique is so students dont rely on strength or try to muscle positions. because sure that may work on the mat against a classmate but in a match with someone who is strong and has better technique it wont. Strength and technique are crucial for success, but technique takes a long time to hone while strength gains can be made fairly quickly without drilling lifts over and over to perfect form.

Ive seen Mason get subbed by lesser opponents. No one is doing what Gordo has done or is doing. I understand it would be a good match but i don't see anyone that would realistically be able to give Gordo a serious test as well as make the match entertaining. Is anyone at Gordo's level? Give or take peds, no one has a better bjj mindset, or bjj execution. Maybe in another 2-5 years someone will level up enough to contend with Gordo.

Now if we talking about sh*t to help you heal..

Wrestling has always focused on Strength from my Knowledge then Speed & Explosion then Toughness then Stamina then Technique. Jiujitsu tried to circumvent a lot of that because of the Philosophy of the Martial Art. It doesn't deny the Reality. It's trying to promote Technique to overcome it. Many East Asian Martial Arts present this Mindset of overcoming limitations, cyclic and inverse aspects, and Balance and alignment.

Strength is important, but it's not enough by itself. I've always been 5'6 at 135 lbs and it is easy to beat larger and taller men that have no experience in wrestling. I'm smaller and weaker, but I end up on top despite the strength differences. Now if a dude is 155 lbs has similar skill, but is stronger then me, I'll lose the match. Strength is great, but it's not everything, just ask AJ how much his fluff helped him against Usyk.
