It’s not an area that I’ve been to a lot in my life but I think I will return to Broxbourne or Bishops Stortford hopefully before the 317s completely go. Also on this day, I took a walk through the Country Park and it was very refreshing. 😃
I went to Cheshunt on holiday earlier this month, it’s so surprising how quickly train companies change their rolling stock as the overground and greater anglia don’t use the class 317 trains anymore for the Liverpool Street to Cheshunt branch.
Thanks Arnold, the freight sounded like it was fully loaded and it took long enough to get up the hill! The 315s were a surprise, I was expecting 317s but it looks like they’d already been withdrawn.
I have stayed Broxbourne in past, so I watched this video with nostalgic. I am glad to see many Class 317s service here, even now yet. Has Class 315 reduced opportunities in services?
Hi Twingle, thanks for your comment. Because I’m not from this area, I rarely get to see these units (especially the 317s) so I filmed this with a sense of envy. The Overground branded 315s and 317s (as far as I am aware) are all withdrawn or scrapped. The TfL blue 315s (like in this video) were apparently in better condition so they replaced them. All 710s ran in pairs and made up around 60-70% of services.
Hi Ricky, thanks for the comment! I really enjoyed the variety. This lines trains are going to change a lot over the next year or so with almost everything shown being replaced so I thought it was a good time to capture it as a time capsule for the future. I haven’t seen you comment before but it looks like East Midlands trains are what you like (I’ve got a fair bit of it on my channel)
@@StarlifeStudios Wow, interesting news that is. I am hoping the signal box will remain there are history in the line. Well, up and downs really with the Covid19 but things are getting better slow but surly :-)
Yes I hope so too. It’s hard to spot in the video but the remains of the Network SouthEast 1980s Cheshunt sign is still visible (although faded). Yes, the virus has had a significant impact on services and usage and naturally, it’s difficult to gain a good selection of footage at this time due to the lack of services on some lines. Thanks for your support!
Thanks Miguel, I'm glad you enjoyed it. This is one of those stations where if you went to it in a few months time, all of the trains will have changed..
Hi a b, I’m glad to hear it 😃 The 317s are likely to be replaced by 379s on most routes before they themselves are replaced by 720s. Almost all 317s have disability compliance so it’s likely they’ll still be around into next year. Some of the 317s seen in this video have already been withdrawn but only because their condition was poor compared to others. So far 317660 and 317668 have been withdrawn.
I really like the 317s, I’m not from London so to me it’s very different. I’ve got a few videos in the making at the moment. I’m hoping it will be either from the Southeastern or Anglian regions.
Hi DS Intel, I’m not 100% sure. I’m pretty confident it’s not random but it seemed like 379s were much more common but that could be because of the virus.
I didn’t do any other West Anglia stations on this day but I did film at Hadley Wood which has Great Northern Ely services. I can only guess that because of the reduced timetable they are choosing to use 379s more than 317s maybe for maintenance.
At some point I want to get a huge amount of SE videos including Eurostar and High-Speed. Like Scotland, its so far away from where I live that it doesn't really make sense to do one video at a time.
Can someone please explain to me why great northern and greater Anglia electrostarts always have dirty foreheads on their cabs lol. But southern ,southeastern, and gtwx seem to have the cleanest electrostarts..I'm confused 💀💀
Hi BB, Great point. I believe the marks on the cabs are the carbon build-ups from the OLE/Pantograph. This leads me to think that maybe its that GN and GA are both OLE Electrostars and SO, SE and GX are all Third Rail Electrostars?
@@StarlifeStudios I'm glad you read through the mistake my phone made , when I said dirty the phone corrected it to "first ". Like ..why loool . And I'm guessing if it is to do with the pantograph then that makes sense, as 465s dont have blacked out "foreheads lol" as opposed to 365s which are meant to have a white "forehead" on their cabs, but have become black or grey. And yeah, hence why 377s and 387s down south arent so dirty, however southern 377s do travel to the north , but I dont see any black marks on their trains fronts, perhaps the train constantly needs to be on an overhead wire to get dirty as such.
I used to live in Cheshunt, got very fond memories of travelling there during the WAGN period

This is what i call Perfect Filming.
Thanks for your kind words Rob! I have a few others that I’m really happy with as well 😃
4:15 is the first class 379
Great video mate. Nice to see Ex. TFL Rail 315s and GBRF complete with graffiti on the barriers.

@@StarlifeStudios and nice to see the first 317 on the ESC movement to Cambridge from Ilford E.M.U.D depot.

The 315s look so classy 😮
Nice vid lovely to see the 710s on the run
Yes! I was actually quite surprised by how fast they have introduced them!
I agree but I don't like how they were built out of cheap plastic
Fantastic video and nice mixed variety you had. Hope your safe and well :-)

You should go to Harrow and Wealdstone Ashurst New Forest and Tiverton Parkway
Harrow And Wealdstone is the good station to film at and also alot of Freight Acton too.
Ahh now this is a station I’m interested in. Especially with the tube stock. I’ll see if I can make it happen sooner rather than later.
Great video

Do you know if 379s run on specific Cambridge north services or is it just random.

@@StarlifeStudios Yeah because before I only remember 317s doing Cambridge services bit it seems like all of them in your video were 379s.
DS Intel, I’m not too familiar with this region but I can tell you that I only saw one which was 2H35 at the end of the video.
@@StarlifeStudios Did you do any other stations that day which had London to Cambridge services if so were they 379s? If not dw

Is there plans for Strood, Rochester or Sittingbourne

One day do Turkey Street
It’s GEML not WAML
what is the next vid
ex-TFL Rail Class 315
It was nice to see those 315s here although I was also hoping the Overground 317s were still around but they are long gone.
i been to stratford to cheshunt
Unfortunately, I didn’t get chance to travel anywhere by train on this day due to the Virus guidance of not travelling.
