    If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.

    Very useful. Most R50s fuel pressure regulators fail after so many years, I found the issue after a lot of troubleshooting when the pressure test showed clearly there was a leak somewhere. Fuel was leaking under the regulator.

      Thank you for the comment. When you say leaking do you mean actually leaking onto the engine ? Or leaking back into the tank return pipe?

    • @peskachina

      @@CoatsandGaiters it was really leaking fuel into the intake through the drain pipe. It was very hard to start with warm engine and always had fuel smell. Fuel consumptions were crazy too!

      Did you have to replace the whole rail ? I see a clip on the bottom of the fuel regulator but it seems to be welded to the rail. I haven't seen anyone show on how to replace that part. And info would be very much appreciated.

      @@jorgezamarripa9718 On my first car I replaced the whole rail, on the third I rteplaced only the pressure regulator, the clip can be removed easily once the rail is off but it didn't solve the problem that time, I actually sold it before i could find the real cause.

    My Mini got almost full tank of gas when I put it in storage a year ago. I have been getting more and more anxiety about how to get the old gas out of it. Fortunately I found this video. Today I drained about 10 liters gas out by the means of bypassing the pin 87 and pin 30 of the fuel pump relay. Very happy learned this method from this video. Thanks a lot for your clear tutorials.

    10:10 I think it's normal to see the fuel pressure gradually drop after the engine is switched off. The regulator is not a one way valve. Going back to your Peugeot 207 video, I remember the pump switched on when you opened the door, perhaps to facilitate a quick engine start.

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  2 года назад +1

      That's very true, logic would say the pump priming when opening the door is to facilitate a ready engine. I think glow plugs do this as well on diesels for the appearance of an instant start-up.

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  2 года назад +1

      I think the fuel pressure is meant to be kept constant at 3.5 bar or 50psi over the driving range.

    hey, got a problem, my r53 is not delivering fuel from the tank to "from tank fuel pipe", took off the both ends from the filter and the ramp off, the pump works, nozzle from the filter side leaks as soon as the ignition turned on, but on the engine end nothing comes out, what could be the issues..? thanks for the answer 🤯

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  Год назад

      The pipe running under the car hasn't been kinked or damaged has it? Is the fuel flowing from the filter with the pump running? should have a strong flow leaving the filter unless the filter is blocking up.

    Hello, I have an issue with my R53 and hope you can help me. It seems like I have zero psi or maybe 1-2 at the fuel rail (I depress it with my fingernail and it just leaks a bit instead of shooting out). Pump sounds like it's working, car starts with difficulty and runs even worse, especially when I push the throttle even slightly it wants to stall, no question about going uphill or anything producing load. BUT when I disconnect the fuel line from the rail and turn the key to the second position, the is fuel delivery. I did the relay bypass test and timed how much it takes to fill a one litter bottle, it took approximately 26-27 seconds. So why don't I get fuel rail pressure, even if the pump is not at it's best, surely it should produce some pressure at least, shouldn't it? I don't see any leaks. Unfortunately I'm stuck in a remote area for vacations with no access to a decent mech shop or to a pressure gauge. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, I have been trying to get a seller to answer the question of the diameter of the quick connector of the very top quick connector. If it is 6.30mm(SAE 1/4)7.89mm(SAE 5/16)9.49mm(SAE 3/8). So I know if it will fit my 2007 toyota matrix. None seem to want to answer. Maybe this is a pain in the butt but it would be appreciated. Thanks.
