    "What a Diff'rence a Day Makes" was done in ONE take. She said that was all she was going to give them, so walked into the studio, the producer cued the orchestra, she came up to the mic -- and less than three minutes later, it was done. One of the all-time classic moments in popular music history.

    • @writerrad
      @writerrad 5 лет назад +8

      most of her major recordings were 1 take because she was such a dedicated musician, but didnt want her time wasted. she was a serious musician who couldnt stand people who could not read music well, could play the vibes the piano, the organ, and the French horn, and could tell if one musician in a 20 piece orchestra was off pitch.

It brings my pleasure that the late Amy Winehouae spoke on this documentary as well. I am grateful for the full videos available to see for free here. Thank you.

    • @edwardwheeler197

      Charles B. Davis Jr. she was definitely an influence on Aretha but so was Mahalia and CLARA WARD.
      I will say, I can definitely hear her influence on Aretha and the similarities in their sound. Aretha was more raw in her Atlantic years.

    • @writerrad
      @writerrad 5 лет назад +5

      Aretha knew Dinah from Childhood since as originally a gospel singer Dinah and her mother were on the same gospel circuits with Aretha and her father. Even as a jazz and soul singer Dinah sought the advice of CL Franklin Aretha's father as she spent a lot of time in Detroit especialy in the last years of her life when she was married to a Lions NFL player. One of Aretha's first albums when she was still with Columbia was a songs of Dinah Washington album cut right after Dinah died. So there was a close personal connection between Dinah and her family and Aretha Franklin and her family even when Aretha was a child or a teen

    Dinah's vibrance fooled everybody somehow and they couldn't see her deteriorating right before their eyes. The last year of her life she looked like she was completely drained. That pill combo did the same thing to her that it did to Judy Garland. It aged her way too fast. She looked drained in the 60s

    Dear precious friends, for those whom believe, we are to Father God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved (2 Corinthians 2 : 15). The apostle Paul describes people who follow God as having the “pleasing aroma of Christ.” When Paul says that God leads His people in Christ’s “triumphal procession” spreading the fragrance of His truth, he’s referring to a practice in the ancient world. Victorious armies would burn incense as they marched through the streets. For their supporters, the smell brought joy.
    In the same way, Paul says the people of God carry a pleasing fragrance to those who believe. It isn’t something we create on our own but something God gives as He leads us in spreading the knowledge of Him. Would you like to smell like the pure, loving righteousness of Jesus Christ? Well first acknowledge that you are a sinner in need of our Savior. Welcome Abba YHWH (Father God) through Yeshua (Jesus the Christ) into your life. Receive grace by believing in Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross, His death, burial and resurrection. You will then be justified in salvation and forever blessed with His abundant love by the Holy Spirit!
    Let us pray!.......Dear Heavenly Father, thank You so much for leading Your people in triumph and spreading the fragrance of Your truth through us. May we admit a beautiful fragrance of love in the lives of everyone we come in contact with, in Your Holy name, Amen! May God bless you in the Glorious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and our Savior.❤️❤️❤️
