- This video describes how to plow a garden using a three-bottom plow and Ford 3000 tractor. Garden size is about a half acre.
I begin plowing by starting at the middle of the field and plowing around so that when I am finished, the furrow is on the outside of the field. In other words, I plow around down the middle of the garden. Then, I turn around and go back alone side where I just made my first pass with the plows. So, I plow around going clockwise. When I finish, the furrow will be on both edges of the garden. Next year, I will begin plowing at the outside and plow towards the center of the field so that the middle furrow will be in the center of the field.
That tractor looks in pretty good shape. I am a believer in moleboard plowing
Me, too. It's a good tractor. Good power for its size, and it starts in cold weather.
Like the old 3000, fantastic little tractors, thanks for the video
Plow opposite directions down middle and work to outside edges also length x width will give you size 43,560 sq ft in an acre
You have a nice tractor and plow set-up. We always would smear a lite coating of bearing grease on the shears, moldboard and throwboard to prevent rusting. The dirt scours the grease off much easier than paint. Thanks for the video.
Thanks. The tractor needs some work done to it. But, it's been a good machine.
That is nice to have three plows on there to tear up more ground at once, and I would love to have a three plow set, but is using my one plow to tear up my ground.

You are way off with what an acre is. Its 208ft x 208ft or 43,560 square feet
That garden is about 1/8 acre I figure.
The football field reference is 300ft x 150ft =45,000 square feet. He is not far off at all.
