There's some twisted irony to a character saying "Were you just daydreaming about old fables" after the game had you use a Kinect to brush your horse as one of the first things you do. They... *had* to know, right? It feels like an admission of defeat.

It should! Fable: Journey spent a long time in development with no intention of having anything to do with Kinect. Then, Microsoft ordered them to throw out all the work they'd done and make it a Kinect game. The development team was, in fact, very depressed and admitting defeat.

Either they don't look over the games at all or they come in, mess things up or force changes to fit some new marketing trend and cause the game to flop. Another of Peter Molyneux infamous lies I remember was during a demo, I think at E3, an interview asked, "is their free roaming like previous fable games, or is it on rails?" and Peter said "Oh, its free roaming, we just taken it out for he demo." turns out, it was on rails aside from optional pitstops by the looks of things.
My first EVER Fable game was Journey LOL And surprisingly I loved it :D The story was great with plot twists, ending was heartbreaking, graphics were decent. Gameplay was mostly fine to me ( I was 13 years old)

I loved the Kinect. Sadly many people couldn’t get theirs to work properly, but I got mine in a spot where it worked decently enough and my friends and I had amazing fun doing the sports and adventures.
Aren't Balverines supposed to be like Fallout's Deathclaws? Like early game they're tough and fast and can shred you no problem only later on in the game they become more easier to handle...now they're super easy thanks to Fable the Journey....

Xbox was WAY ahead of everyone else for the "VR" controls. The kinnect had spot-on tracking even for multiple people and it responded really well to the oral commands. It's amazing how poorly everyone else's controls actually are. Heck, you literally didn't need controllers for it since they figured out ways to make your hand movements act as the controls that you want. Oh and you will definitely feel sore after playing the Kinect. Your muscles will be working out simply from the contractions you make. It is quite a burn.
Dude how did we start with a legendary game like Fable lost chapters and end with this? Seriously man Fable 1 lost chapters is an amazing game(fable 2 & 3 are pretty fun too) and this, this looks like agony lol 😂. I completely forgot that fable lost journey exists. I’ve never played it before.
Fable 1 and then the expansion lost chapters were the best of the series, personally only 2 came close, 3 wasn't nearly as good as the other two. This one looks honestly kind of boring when given the fable name, and what the other games offered compared to it.
@@Darkness5423 oh I fully agree. The first game is my favorite. Actually it’s even better on PC(mainly because you can use the hero save glitch on the youth avo donation thing in the woods). Plus the PC graphics look better than the remastered in my opinion. The third game was slightly above average but quite entertaining(I liked the sanctuary idea & The choices as king). But the main problem was that the heavy big battle set pieces were very underwhelming.

Woah had no idea this existed. I actually tested “Fable Legends” if I remember correctly which was never released because Lionshead who was making it collapsed. I’ve played a lot of alphas and betas but that one was real early on… like checker board place holders for textures. Wonder if some copy of it still exist out there lol.
You know, for what it is, this game was pretty alright. Id much rather have had a real Fable, but it was pretty cool driving a cart and casting spells for a bit.
Not that it might matter much to you, but if you ever have issues with discs not working, you could try resurfacing them. All you would need is some polishing compounds and a microfibre cloth. It is not guaranteed to work all the time, but it might mean you won't have to buy a game twice. Just a suggestion.
Fun fact about my time on the Kinect. One time I played one of the pack in games (the river adventure thing) for so long, I almost genuinely passed out.
In fairness, I don’t think it’s a terrible idea. The concept of following a more ordinary person just trying traverse a fantasy land with his trusty horse is fairly compelling in a way. I could imagine a game that wasn’t Kinect and iterated on it more becoming an indie darling.
As someone who replaced Fable 2 and 3 repeatedly as a kid i probably would've love this at the time honestly, i would've loved seeing the new creature designs and the Devourer from 3 again
Let's be real Kev this is your favorite Fable. What an absolute masterpiece compared to Fable 1 & 2, it's like the studio finally clicked on what makes an excellent product. Kidding aside, remember the disaster of Fable Legends? Man, this franchise certainly has been through ultimate highs and abyssal lows. Never say it doesn't possess an odd, ungainly charm. There aren't enough games where you can bond with a horse on the road, if I'm being subjective.

Kinect was advanced for its time, i.e a 3d depth camera , the problem was the type of games was limited by its very nature. Effectively on rail shooters, games where you were static, say tennis, or say dance games. It was a lot more limited than the Wii, due to the lack of a controller.
What i hate about this game, is that it actually looks good. Decent graphics, not horrible animations, updated enemies, if this was the last fable game they made, fable 4 is looking up. If they make it look worse than this, someone is getting a Hobbe up the arse.

I liked the Kinect. It was great. If Microsoft would do a new version for VR, it would compete with PSVR. We could even get Halo VR which would be fun.
Honestly a perfected vr headset and perfected kinect would create as close to perfect vr before the perfect vr that is in Ready Player One. The only problem would be you still can't run around or feel things. What is especially important for perfect vr is resistance. Like if you're fighting with swords in rpgs with no resistance it breaks immersion by a lot.
@@TheYodelingViking there are full 360° treadmills and platforms to allow you movement in VR, and early versions of suits that allow a somewhat immersive way to feel stuff touching you, and DIY gloves that allow you to feel items as thin as a credit card.

Im only at 30 seconds into the video. But this game looks way better than i remember. Very good looking for a 360 game. I play a couple of hours but never finished. Iyou have to calibrate Kinect everytime before starting this game, the controls are very finicky. I can see you haven't. Hahha I'm already seeing what will happen next
