My son required a life saving operation when he was six weeks old. The surgeon was Sterling Blocker, Dan Blocker's cousin. His hands were the size of his cousin's "Hoss." I was amazed such large hands performed such a delicate surgery on such a tiny patient. He had a similar outgoing personality that immediately put me at ease. The surgery was a major success.

Same here, my dad served in WW2 and he always watched Bonanza. I spent many times watching with him on the couch. He watched it up to the last few days of his life when he passed away in 2019. I quit work to take care of him about the last year of his life when it started to get a little hard for him to get around by himself. I miss Pa. So when I see anything about Bonanza I think of my dad who was a good dad.

I viewed this with my wife and now we're going to go see it. This property is absolutely amazing. I LOVE how it's been preserved as it was built. I oftne thought it would be so cool to have a house like the Ponderosa. I know of another house a man built and when he passed, his wife simply closed part of it off. I was probably the first person in 20 years that had been in that section and it took me back to the1950's. So cool.

You’re such a gentleman and wonderful tour guide. Thank you and thank the home owners for allowing us a tour!
I grew up with Bonanza and currently watch an episode or two before I go to sleep. The Cartwrights take my mind off of the bizarre, twilight zone reality of the world we live in today.
We had a vacation home on a golf course in Bend, Oregon and I was so afraid we’d get “pelted with golf balls” as Lorne and Nancy did, especially because our daughter was a toddler at the time. Somehow, we never did. We were mid fairway and I don’t remember even one stray ball flying through. Good golfers!
    God bless you.😊

That's awesome that the owners of the house saw your vlog on here and extended the invitation to view the interior. Your fame is starting to grow.:-) Bonanza was one of my favorite shows when I was in grade school. The very first time ever I saw color TV ( it was the summer of 62) Bonanza was the show that was on. I was fascinated with the concept and i couldn't get over how cool it looked. Unfortunately when they first came out they were very expensive so we didn't get our first color TV until like a year later.

Thank you for the great virtual tour it is really accurate my wife and I were fortunate enough to visit the Ponderosa Ranch in Nevada on a trip to Lake Tahoe the thing you never forget was the enormous fireplace and the staircase to nowhere! Lorne Green should have expanded it to a real mancave billiards room or something like that lol! it all brings back great memories. The house at the Nevada site had a huge artificial wisteria tree with the beautiful purple flowers hanging down on and over the porch it was a nice touch like desperate housewives set. The owners of this home are very gracious hosts to allow us a peek into this special historical home, It is a gorgeous time capsule very well taken care of and loved it shows in every bit of the property Hats off to Lorne Green and his wife the Ponderosa and Bonanza lives on!

Thanks so much for this wonderful tour Jordan. And much thanks to the owners who were gracious enough to invite you back.
My Dad took us on vacation many years ago to Northern California and we were able to tour the original Ponderosa. But it was only the facade for filming. No actual bedrooms or kitchen or yard. Only the house and front room. We were so disappointed, but I’m so glad I was able to see the original.
We faithfully watched Bonanza every Sunday night. And I watch it on re runs all the time now.
I now live in Northern California and go to Tahoe all the time. When my Dad took us up here years ago, I fell in love with the Sierras. And I now live in El Dorado. My dream come true.
So glad so many authentic pieces were passed on to them and to let the memory live on. I did not know all this about Lorne Greene and that he built that replica home. So thank you for sharing this bit of history with us.
God bless you and those nice folks.

Hi Jordan. I know as a relative newcomer to your channel I haven’t seen very many of your vlogs yet, but I’d have to say this one has been my favorite so far! Many thanks to the homeowners for inviting you to do this, that is so generous and gracious of them. And you did a wonderful job pointing out all the details that were dear to my heart. I was a big fan as a kid growing up in the 60s, and my late husband and I would watch Bonanza on MeTV with great enjoyment. Thank you, this one made my day! ☺️👍🏼♥️

Great tour! Much thanks to you and the homeowners! It is wonderful to see history preserved! We visited the Ponderosa house in Nevada back in 1998. As I recall we were told that the two hats [(and hat rack?) that were gifted to the homeowners were from that very house] were Little Joe and Hoss's hats that were left on the hat rack for sentimental reasons from the last time they were on the set. Not sure how true it was but it's a great addition to the authenticity of the home!

Thank you Jordan, for taking us back to Ponderosa. And a big thank you for the new owners, who made this house feel like Loren and his wife were still living there. Very kind of them to open it up for you to blog. I really liked the merry go round Little Joe horse. He had a pinto horse on the show for years. Miss these guys, they had one of the best long running western show on T.V. Sad when Dan Blocker passed away. Thank you so much for going there to do this piece and for the owners!!!!

That was absolutely amazing in so many ways, Jordan! That was very nice of the home owners to invite you in for a vlog. Thank you to the owners if they read this comment!! So much stuff! I can’t comment on them all, but the retro appliances in the kitchen was something to see. I’m wondering if anyone is still alive who used to make home repair visits for those. I noticed that on the signatures in the hallway, that Lorne’s is on a green background, where others were beige. Highlighting his last name in form of the color! Neat! They need to add kevlar to the back walls on the next upgrade to the home. Four or five golf ball hits a day? Yikes!! “Fore!!”

I think that those two hats donated to the house by the studio was a very loving gesture. And if you take a look at the stand-ups that you have at the end of your video here (nice touch, by the way) you can match those hats up to Dan Blockers character Big Hoss (the white hat on the right of the hat rack) and the one that you put on your lucky head looks like it was the actual one that was worn by Michael Landen's character Little Joe. So, wow!

What a fun find. I came across this by accident and really enjoyed it. I had no idea that Mr. & Mrs. Greene had built this special house. I was tickled to see the first photo you showed, the one of the four "Cartwright's" standing in front of the "original" Ponderous house. I sent off for my copy of that photo when I was probably in early Junior High School. I still have it in my collection of photos. Thanks to you, Jordan, and to the home owners for this great video.

Thanks so much to the homeowners for sharing their home with all of us. I feel their pain as I live on the 14th fairway of a golf course in St Augustine Fl. We get hit at least 3-5 times a day have lost one window, one windshield and a dent in the car in the 4 yrs we have lived here. We collect weekly at least 25-30 balls in our yard and bushes. Thanks again Jordan Love the vlogs

Delighted that the current homeowners were so gracious to share an inside tour of Lorne Green’s Bonanza home because I was a bit disappointed when Jordan did the original exterior tour because I was curious. So now that we got to see the inside of the home today and photos of the interior from the 60s and the TV set, we get a full historical peek and thank you so much for sharing with Bonanza fans. I absolutely love the content brought to us through RUclips. Great channel Jordan. Love your Hollywood Tours. American tv and film is special Americana culture that ties many people together through the love of entertainment. TV and film is fun and also brings understanding and learning about people and different ways of living and being.
