    I have a taken a BWCA trip every year since 1964 (when I was 3) - last year we went to Gillis and your video makes me want to go again..! Well done.
    This year we are headed out in September through Mudro.

      September is the best time to go in my opinion. We did experience a bit of a cold snap on this trip. Nights dropped down into the low 20s

    We really liked my canoe partner & I Fall trips. The 1st week in September was our choice. Usually 60’s-70’s daytime & frosted
    ground every morning.

    SO wonderful and captures so well the beauty of the BWCA. Took the same route as they did including that LONG portage back in the 80's, out of Tuscarora. These two fellows really knew how to do it. Best time of my life!

    Such a great video. Mind sharing what hammock / tarp system you used? Headed to bwca in a month and may replace my current Hennessy hammock.

      Hey thanks! The hammock is a ENO double nest. The rainfly is the ENO Housefly. Still using it to this day and it’s still going strong.

    If I could double like this video I would. I have not been on that route. I mainly travel out of the Ely side. I really liked the scenery, length of video, music and absence of fishing segments. Thank so much. I am headed up in late September and was studying your video for tips on my clothing list.

      Hey Brian! Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. September is an awesome time to go but you have to be prepared for warm and cold weather. We did have a cold front come through the week we were there so that did play a role into our attire. During the day it would range anywhere from 55-70 degrees out but at night it dropped down to the low thirties and high twenties at times. I would highly recommend planning for this temperature range. Most of the time I was wearing a fleece pull over with a t-shirt underneath and we were in long pants for the entire time. Pack clothing for 40s and 30s if you have it. I hope this helps!

      We actually took off from Round Lake where Tuscarora Outfitters is. From there into Missing link, Tuscarora, Gillis, Brant, and then back to Round Lake. With a lot of smaller lakes mixed in between those lakes.

      My friends and I took a 7 dayer in early September and just posted the vid a few days ago. Our channel is called BushBros Outdoors! If you comment and say you were the one with the 6 day trip I will remember it was you! Your filming style is interesting and probably pretty easy when you are out on the trip. This video deserves more views than it has, just keep trying and keep the coverpics good, that's what matters! Good luck in your outdoor youtube adventures! Also, I can tell you have clearly been inspired by some more popular youtubers, say Joe Robinet and maybe TA Outdoors based on filming and techniques? I don't know, just going out on a limb. Let me know if I was right! Subscribed!

      Hey thanks! I got permission to use the song by contacting the copyright holder. I appreciate the supportive compliments. I’m definitely a big fan of Joe Robinet. My goal is to capture the emotions of the trip and with every video I feel I get a little closer. I did a 10 day trip in July and we covered close to 90 miles. That video is on my channel as well. I’ll check out your guys’ channel and leave a comment.

    This is so awesome! Thanks for putting this together. What kind of camera did you use for this? I went to BWCA with three friends over labor day weekend this year and tried to capture on my phone footage from our trip - definitely didn't look like yours :)

    • @ruggedendeavours756
      @ruggedendeavours756  3 года назад +1

      Hey thanks for watching! I use a DSLR Canon SL2/200D for the majority of the shots. I do have a GoPro that I bring and use occasionally but I try to avoid it if I can because it doesn’t capture as good of quality as the DSLR. About 97% of the footage is from the DSLR.

      That’s a terrifying feeling. I got caught in a storm a few years back that was really bad. Three people died in that storm. It was my first solo trip and it took me a few trips to start feeling comfortable again. Storms still give me an uneasy feeling inside. Glad you made it out!
