wow i can't even imagine it. i mean these guys were all well established in their own rights, but then get to play the Beatles, what an honor it must have been. not to mention a lot of fun. regardless they pulled it off perfectly, both here and more importantly in the movie. Backbeat was an awesome movie. i say awesome in all the 80s meaning..well done gentlemen. very well done indeed. wish i could have seen you guys live.

Sure you can say Soul Asylum was Wynona Ryder-rock but even Dave Pirner was good up there. It was like...this mixture of all these 90s indie icons with different styles completely kicking fucking ass. I looked for this clip for like 10 years before someone finally put it on youtube.
The studio gave Thurston Moore a hotel suite that took up an entire level when they flew him out for this, the after party naturally happened there and ran up a $40,000 tab
