Very old joke!
TWO EPISODES IN ONE MONTH!? THE GODS HAVE BLESSED US!!!
Actually the time between ep 35 and 36 is 6 days and 23 hrs so in a "week"
I know it's ridiculous!
In a couple of days we’ll celebrate the 8th anniversary of the first episode. So this video makes it a nice average of four episodes per year.
2 episodes in 1 season is good going frankly!!🤣
I wonder if we can expect a third before the end of the month?
I didn't have a child or own my home when this series started... I just dropped my daughter off for her first day of 1st grade, and I'm sitting at my desk in my garage in my home. What an amazing ride, and we're not even done yet. I can't wait until my daughter tells me about the first test drive when I'm in a rocking chair at an old folks home.
I have to admit, the loading icon right as you fired it up had me scrambling to check my internet connection. That was such a mean joke...
Biggest cliffhanger involving a British car since that pause at the ending of "Harold and Maude"...
I had to back it up just to see that the clock was still running. Epic joke, we’ll done.
😆😆😆😆
I like that they used the old loading icon.
I sweared out loud!
That "massive leek" had my dying from laughter.
I've re-watched these comedic bar stewards so many times over the years that I was pretty much expecting that gag the moment I heard Nick say "Bloody great leak"....... I didn't see the "Pasty looking cabbage" line (And the reaction) coming though. :D

My Dad didn't make it...
I myself have literally dodged a coffin to see this through.
After almost exactly 8 years since Episode 1 (only 3 days off) we finally see it running, and I couldn't be more excited. I have learnt so much from watching this series that I have applied to my own car builds. Absolutely love everything about this build. The car itself, your way of doing things along with your fucking deadpan humor and the production quality of the videos are all 10/10.
Can't wait to see it move under it's own power, and then later see you continue on your other projects.
I re-watched episode 1 recently… they looked so young!! The Bad Obession babies!! 🤣🤣
I think 10/10 is a little bit low. I would say it is about 12/10...

THE BEST CAR SHOW on RUclips or TV- by a huge margin! I don't even like Mini's and yet this is one of my favourite cars ever!
We’ve been waiting years for it to “make the noise”. Excellent job gentleman!
Many many moons ago, my grandad was the one that began to watch the series about Project Binky - sadly he passed away - but that I, his grandson, should be the chosen one to witness this glorious day, where Binky's engine is running for the first time, I had never in my wildest dreams dared to hope so, I was convinced it would be MY grandsons privilege to experience that triumf in a distant future. From the bottom of my heart, thanks guys, thanks a lot! 🙏🤩🙏
Sorry couldn't help it, bloody great job guys! 😁👏👏👏
Few people know that Project Binky was originally started by Abraham Lincoln, who wanted to swap the horses in his carriage and perhaps add a few brackets. Sadly, he had to pass on the project to others, on account of being murdered. After some rethinking and overengineering (with a cup of tea, obvs), it's 2021 and Binky is nearly finished.
@@dalstein3708 Abraham Lincoln?
He’s featured in the credits but no, that’s obviously not enough, typical American trying to claim credit, charlatan!
….Remember chaps, the internets is British, all hail Tim Berners-Lee!
Nope, the low down is that Project Binky originated as a covert op during Queen Victoria’s reign.
It was intended to ensure that British gentlemen had a sufficient quantity of bracketry secreted about their person at all times to secure the empire, hence the original project code name ‘Prince Albert’. Where better to hide a small piece of ironmongery or two, after all?
Following reports of growing resistance amongst the gentry to having brackets, or ‘Prince Alberts’, surreptitiously fitted to their private areas, the decision was taken to provide for future British bracket requirements by developing a mobile and more gender neutral alternative that could proceed at speed to wherever a shortfall of brackets might threaten Britain’s global security and wider interests.
This revised approach to the problems presented by the ‘Prince Albert’ scheme was dubbed ‘Project Binky’ and it is the glorious culmination of that effort that we hear today.
It has all come a long way, from that first quiet clang issuing forth from an unnamed hero’s nether regions, to the out there triumphant roar and unapologetic turbo whistle that heralds a new age in global dominance for this fine nation, all well underpinned by readily accessible brackets in enough quantity to secure the most dire of situations, of course.
God Save The Queen! 🇬🇧🫖

It’s still breaking my brain as to how you figured out how to ensure those oil cooler fittings fit the thread length and most importantly the alignment.. that would have taken me AGES to figure out… and lots of trial and error.
Yes, it is, isn’t it.
Arcane knowledge, yes.
🤔
The closest I could ever get to pulling that off is cutting the spacer a little short and filling the threads with hydraulic sealant. Simply barbaric compared to these blokes work.
@@thisguy1890 no, no. Yours is the proper way.
I'm guessing that he keyed the standoff piece at a bigger OD and then tapped the the threads on a lathe. That way he could tap one end, then spin it around and be 180 degrees off +/- degree at the correct length. Then he could have used the lathe to cut the OD and remove the key slot. Since he has O-rings to hold the pressure, and the mating fittings hold the angle... He doesn't need to stretch the threads to hold pressure, the ID of the standoff piece will compress the O-rings and do that for him.
@@johntremain8403 I see what you mean… he then can just focus on setting up the proper alignment within the 1-2 mm length tolerance to fit.

I am amazed that BOM only have 403K subscribers on RUclips, this has got to one of the best, most entertaining series out there.
It's because they don't pander out or try to invite clicks, subscription, bells and sponsorships like all the other RUclipsrs and influencers out there. Nick and Rich are well respected race engineers, and have careers and families of their own, and this is their hobby project. They don't subscribe to a timeline or live by patreon support, or care about thumbs ups, they just work their best at their own speed as best friends on their project having fun. Their class, standards and code are a level set apart from rest of what RUclips builds.
This machine really is a stunning example of thought and preparation. It’s a beautiful piece of art gentlemen and you should be proud! Sounds extremely hungry, like it wants to eat any and all roads in front of it!

love it when great mechanics watch each other (in a non dirty way)
Two episodes in one week? You are really spoiling us! But thank you so much 👍
I know my comment will probably get lost in all the excitement but hopefully someone sees it. The E154F transmission has both synchros and hypoid gears and you can't use regular GL-4 or GL-5 gear oil. Toyota has a special fluid called GL-5 Super they used for these transmissions. I didn't see what was poured in there. The closest alternative is Redline 75w90NS + 1 quart of synthetic synchromesh + 1 quart Redline Heavy Shockproof. Its very similar to subaru transmissions and that's what I've been running for a few years in my Celica GT4.
Are you Nick in disguise?
looks like the oil is from Morris oils - also, like BOM, based in Shropshire - They do a very wide range of gear oils - let's just hope it's the right one for Binky
@@mosschopz156 Knowing Nick, he'll probably do a full oil change for engine and gearbox after a couple of hundred miles.
@@mosschopz156 considering how detailed they in everything they do, they probably already know. I just didn't see them mention it cause most people don't care/know. GL-5 is great for synchros, but terrible for hypoid gears (basically an offset ring and pinion). It doesn't have enough cushioning to it. GL-4 does, but it's corrosive to yellow metals, as in synchros. So you have to find the gear oil that's not too slippy, or synchros don't work right, the right viscosity for the VC center diff, and has enough cushion to protect the hypoid gears from extreme pressures and wear.

With those end credits, fully expected, Fanfare for the common man playing after the Patrons :)
Two videos in a month? You're spoiling us ❤️
Don't stress Johannes, it's got to be a build-up to an incredibly long wait for the next one! Consistency is key.
Became strangely emotional seeing Binky come to life. Well done chaps, looking forward to the next video already.
Ab fab! Just the right amount of detail and humour combined! I'm also learning so much, and so many questions...
Anyone else wait for these vids like a crackhead?
When they finally do post new ones I "like" the vid first before I even watch them! Lol
ME!!!! lol
