    I can't wait for the same to happen for The Flames Of Hope since... yeah.
    Small spoiler alert-
    Jambu and Pineapple are confirmed to be dating and a scavenger named Axolotl is non-binary. Axolotl in particular, the book simply states that they use 'they and them pronouns', which would be enough for parents to start shaking in their boots and weeping loudly for how traumatized their children will be.

If dragons/anyone shouldn’t love who they want to then why do we love at all? Being LGBTQ+ should just be accepted already. Again, ITS JUST LOVEEEE. these parents are just pissed that they failed in explaining things to their children and wanted to shun them from it forever, and know they have to do an uncomfortable talk with their child that would've happened eventually. Or their pissed the child in question might think its ok and the parent can't slap their silly beliefs in the kiddos brain.

    • @ayjayce
      @ayjayce 2 года назад +3

      in my opinion poison jungle was the best out of arc 3 (excluding flames of hope)
      lost continent was great, we got to see new characters and even a new tribe, and we got to see what clearsight did after darky warky. The main issue is the fact that there are many mistakes in it and the fact that It is pretty much physical click-bait.
      the hive queen was also great, not really anything bad with it, and I loved reading about lady scarab and lady jewel.
      poison jungle was great too. this is the only one i have in person of arc 3. I loved seeing bumblebees adorable murderous intent, and the way they introduced willow in. hawthorn could have been a much more interesting villain though. He could control a serpentine thanos snap.
      Dangerous gift: not finished yet but it doesnt have many components to the story and plot though, but the visions so far are pretty cool
      flames of hope: haven't started but against my desire to finally not get spoilers, i read the entire description on the wiki

    • @grAnita-
      @grAnita- 2 года назад

      I think its just because now everything you see includes LGBTQ references now. There is a new series? I bet it contains gay characters JUST because the “politically correct” demands it. Even when a new movie came out on internet you see almost just:” Oh I bet she is a lesbian, and he is GAY” take as an example Luca and Encanto. Those movies are the perfect example of what I mean. I don’t care if someone is LGBTQ and I think this is the way it should be. You don’t have to compliment someone just because is gay… And it’s also painful to watch something were the gay character is the good guy, or the fact that you remember them just because “they are the gay one” it doesn’t make any sense. I recognize that in those comment that 4rcane read a dose of homophobia was present, tho but this is just the way it is.

    Eh. I'm neutral about all of the ships or couples. About the violence part, every children's book involves at least 1 violent scene so I don't think that could work as an argument for younger children to not read WOF. Just ask The Inheritance Cycle, the first two books involve at least one person getting their head chopped off (They were both bad guys too) yet the series is considered one of the best children's literature.

  • @cringenugget
    @cringenugget Год назад +1

    I disagree with the people saying Sundew was difficult to read. Hear me out:
    Yes, Sundew can be a very difficult character to read, alongside Tsunami, Winter, Snowfall, etc. But almost every time, these characters have their reasons. Take Peril, for example. She was abandoned from her rightful mother at birth, getting put into the wrong hands. Queen Scarlet made her eat black rocks to “keep her alive,” but it was all just a lie. She also made Peril kill hundreds dragons in an arena for entertainment.
    Sundew also had her reasons. Her mother, Belladonna, wasn’t the easiest dragon to have as a mother. If you think about it, Belladonna basically just used Sundew like a tool to get the Book of Clearsight and prove the Hivewings wrong. Belladonna also gave Sundew this abnormally huge hate of all Hivewings, even nice ones at times, like Cricket.
    I’m just saying, Sundew doesn’t mean to be difficult to read. It’s all Belladonnas fault, really.
    P.S: I Don’t get why people are saying that the Poison Jungle was political, when book 11 is all about using lower families, or in this case, Silkwings, as slavery. And in book 5, when 3 princesses need to fight for the throne. Anyways, that’s just my opinion. Also, to prove that you’ve read this comment, reply to me with the clown emoji. 🤡

    IMO, Sunlow is one of the most well-written WoF ships. Sundew’s soft side is its most prominent when she’s with Willow, and the interactions between the two are healthy all the way. If some of these people bothered to give it a chance, they would see that it isn’t bad.

    I agree with everything in that one review except for a plant being the villain. Personally I was actually way way more horrified of the breath of evil than Darkstalker. Darkstalker was easily more powerful, yes, but he was bound at least by his own desires. however murdurous those were, the point for him wasn’t the murder, it was catharsis. The breath of evil, however, is actually way more ancient than Darkstalker and it is the complete nature of this plant to take over its victims. This isn’t a power fantasy realized, its a predator-prey relationship form something that isn’t even another animal, much less another dragon. That’s why I feel like it’s way more scary. Darkstalker could have been pursued into using his powers for good before Foeslayer left. Meanwhile this villain has no sympathy whatsoever, has waited an even longer time for revenge, conscious the whole time, and by the time you realize what’s going one it’s already outsmarted you in a terrible terrible way.
    Because Darkstalker is way more focused on his goals and socail needs, he’s much more terrifying in what he’s able to do, far more than what he does. The only crazy magic animus thing he does is the plague. By contrast, the boe has been constantly working and doing everything it can. It will not hesitate ever to infect who it can, or kill whoever is in its way Immediately. Depending on how fast you read, 1-5 minutes after the villan is revealed blue and swordtail are already under it’s control, at this point, basically half of the main cast(not counting luna, she’s not very present in the story). By contrast, Darkstalker has chosen not to hurt any of moons friends, aka the main characters. The worst that happens is turtle looses his animus magic. But even that is so temporary that I actually forgot it happened. And you could count winter getting charmed too, but while that’s awful it’s not nearly as terrible as what the boe does. Also. Darkstalker is genuinely charming, but also genuinely lost and alone. I want to give him a hug more than anything else. Boe pops up and my first thought is kill it with fire.
    Im not going to sit here and argue that the plant is the stronger villain, in terms of the writing or story because I don’t believe that. But at least to me, the plant is a scarier villain and my heart absolutely dropped at the reveal.
    Also, There are actual fungi in the real world that land their spores on insects and are able to then influence those insects to spread more spores. So unlike animus magic(wich In some ways you can substitute for money, but in other ways you really cant), crap like this exists in our world. It doesn’t think and scheme like the boe does, but regardless it does exist.

I would of loved to see younger Sundew trying her best to find Mandrake Romantically interesting but finally finding the spark with Willow. I remember being ten years old and I had already read enough books that included gay content and wars, or things such as the hunger games, which touches many, much more mature topics to the point where I had learned how to hide it so well my parents are clueless about Ricks books. Remember, you raise superhumans who can over throw the government and recognize someone across the house by their foots steps by being strict, not obedient ones that do what ever you say and are clueless to the world.

    Heard that Anemone has a crush on Tamarin. Blue has two moms who love each other more than Blue and Luna’s father, referred to as “my moms” when he was lamenting how much he missed them, and that was like in The Hive Queen I think. But nope it’s only a problem when it’s a main gay character is involved. Plus the SunLow relationship isn’t even sexual. It’s frickin adorable and Warrior Cats should take notes on relationship writing. It’s probably the first canon gay ship I’ve read about that I absolutely enjoyed (because I don’t read that many franchises that had them.)
