Awesome! Where did you send theecu to, how much did it cost?
dieselecmusa.com/products/ecm-dodge-ram-2500-3500-cummins-isb-5-9l-for-1998-5-1999. I think it was around $1,100. Just call that 619 number and tell them what you have and whats going on. They're good people.
I have a 1999 3500 cummins my gauges started going crazy few days ago today when I was driving it it turned off on me and it cranks but won’t start have any idea what it could be ?
I can't answer that question because I don't have enough info. I have no idea how good your batteries are or how good your battery connections are.
I have the same problem my gauges bounce around tell I drive it then go back to normal now the truck don't start at all.
Would something like this happen if the truck was sitting for a few years?
I guess it could. But mostly the ECMs fail due to hot and cold cycles and vibration from the engine.
@@prodieselrepair3218because of that reason, and a couple failed ecms I've removed the ECM and the harness from the block and fastened it to the mastercylinder.. harness to the fender...on other vehicles...it may sound idiotic to some,🤣,but I think it's worth try,...to keep em alive...but anyway, thanks for your videos 👍👍👊
It's mechanical, it should fire and idle with the ecm in the bed. Right ? Wrong ?
No the 24V with the VP44 are not mechanical. You can hot wire the injection pump and get it to start and idle without the ECM, but the EMC controls the pump normally.
@@prodieselrepair3218 Yes, it does need power and ground to idle.
Not a fan of $1200 lol
