I like how they are trying to tie this back into the main half life narrative. I know this is just a small mod by fans but it really feels as though this could be the closest we get to a half life 3 in terms of it exploring that part of the narrative closer than most mods.
I seriously wish Valve would make an exception for what mods aren't canon, I honestly wouldn't see it hurting anything. Entropy Zero 1 and 2 are made with so much love and care that it FEELS canon, something no other hl2 mod has ever made me feel. It tells a different story while staying true to the main narrative of half life 2. In my opinion, this is the closest we'll get to a Half-Life 2: Episode 3.
Any time anyone asks about canon just remember that Valve has no stance and the writer on HL1 and 2, Marc Laidlaw, says for Half-Life canonicity itself is just a thing fans made up and is itself noncanon. Anyone who insists that there is a set canon is lying to you. Some choice quotes from Laidlaw: "The whole issue of canon is something the fans came up with. I guess you will be able to identify as canon those story elements we continue to build on and develop and mention repeatedly as the story progresses. Others might fall by the wayside once they've served their purpose. Couldn't you say the same of us all?" "We don’t get involved in issues of canonicity. You might say that canon itself is non-canon. So, no official stance, there’s just the games." "Please don't expect consistent 'canon'-confirming answers from me on these subjects. I don't have old notes to consult. At this point fans have devoted years to analyzing things we threw in the game with close to zero thought other than 'that looks cool.'"
@Zaphero True and good point. I would like to think that this is canon to the main story. I like to think that whatever mod people like is their own canon. Same thing with other valve games I suppose.
Yea, the game makes sure to leave space for an official follow up, but I think having Entropy Zero 2 be the resolution to it is the most thematically appropriate end to the HL2 arc possible and it makes HL2E2's ending more tragic and Half-Life if you include it. (And it's not like a dimension spanning empire would ever give up on hoping a time machine/teleporter they lost would show up somewhen.) Gordon and the gang never needed to leave for the Borealis and its time nonsense. They never needed to get to leaving for the arctic so that Eli Vance could be killed in that hanger. They were under the impression that the whole war was all in their hands and nothing could be resolved without them and Gordon. Afterall isn't Gordon a decisive messiah, he can't just be a man out of time and out of options just constantly trying to survive right? In reality, he's only ever had one false choice and everything he achieves is swamped in the end by reality crushing in to remind how small he and humanity is... but turns out this scumbag had a choice instead. It turned out that reality gave the wrong man in the right place a chance to stop something he didn't understand just knowing the Combine wanted it, and he ended it for them well before they learned about Mossman being raided or about the Borealis still existing at all. Perfect!
@@mdd767 Haha I'll never stop. (TBH I hadn't realised that was what I'd done. And I never got one this early nor am I likely to again, so no risk of it happening again.)
This feeling, when side story of Unit 3650 is more badass and better than whole Gordon's life. We need more stories about transhumans doing their job. I ordered some engravings about Overwatch/3650 on my EDC 👍😊

It's so upsetting that valve spent years just scrapping and rebuilding ideas on episode 3 while these people got together and, in five years, made something on par with an episode 3 valve would have made Valve is honestly dead to me as a game developer
I've decided to continue making more content for this channel. What would you like to see in the future?
COMBINE

That's what I said exactly to Breadman last year. Some fans might even consider Entropy Zero 2 canon.
Yeah, this feels like a actual game you would pay for.
It is absolutely amazing.
Even if its not canon i hope wilson is canon
I think it's fair to say that this "Small mod" is not small at all, it's a masterpiece
0:47 “this Italian wasn’t normal”
This trailer gives a different vibe comparing to the first Entropy Zero.
Yeah Agree, Here you play much more Higher Role than just being a Cop Stuck in a War Zone.
I fucking love half life

oh shit didnt expect EZ to be getting a sequel
You really never heard of its development? People talked about it for a year.
I think they have been working on it for more than 3 years.

I was so incredibly impressed with Entropy Zero 2.
This is awesome damn.
Canon
this got me for a second, and then i saw your channel name

It is really awesome
this goes so fucking hard holy shit
i always wondered if the combine where brainwashed or not, i mean to have masses work in the same facility as stalkers
obviously they are lolz
Ota, stalkers, and probbably most units other than Civil protection are brainwashed.
iirc combines are actually stalkers, there was a model of a combine soldier missing half his armor and it looked similar to a stalker
@@howwwwwwwwwww Yeah, expect combine soldiers probbably aren't malnourished.

i'm probably wrong but the animations of the shotgun are different
No, you're right. These scenes were taken in public demo 20 days before the release.
Yea I saw the animations in the first mission you can find a shotgun with old animations
Soundwave is that you?
Say... would you update the trailer again after EZ2's release? Maybe you can also add Wilson dialouge
Maybe, when I have time.
what is the music played in this video?
what is the song
X2
Can someone please tell me what song was used in this masterpiece?
I think is a modified versión of Half-Life 2 Lost Coast: VLVX Song3
@@PibeCualquiera If it is, it must be an unreleased personal modification.

What's the music called during Aiden's speech?
