Also i remember when Glenn Hughes (ex Deep Purple) came to Argentina in the late's 90s... after the concert he stayed for hours in the hotel singing autographs and taking pictures with his fans, without asking for any money... he never left until the very last person get his signature and picture... see the diference? A real star shines not only on stage, but in his everyday attitudes.

The most I recall paying for anyone's autograph was $60 for Billy Dee Williams, and it was not a good experience. The fans at the show were placed in a line, almost like cattle. He never looked up, smiled, or chatted with anybody, just kept signing and moved on. I never went back to see him after that.

I remember getting them for free back in the day! Now? Forget it. No one is worth $200 or more for their name on a piece of paper. No one. Just the thought of standing on line for hours turns me off.

The best is to stop buying autographs from the dealers who hound and make the celebrities feel jaded at signing for the real fans.

Its incredible that people must pay to get an autograph... celebrities are super rich and yet they want more and more money. There's no excuses for this attitude... do you think Keannu Reeves will charge you anything for a signature? Of course not. Other actors should learn from him. Dedicate time and patience to your fans, as they spend their money buying tickets, dvds and merchandising, and watching your movies. Arrogance is a disease, as lethal as cancer.

At cons you have to pay for autographs, also most big stars do not sign sign thru mail and uses secretaries or other fakes

It's their choice if a celebrity wants to charge for their signature. The celebrities and the promoters of the autograph shows are providing a service. All celebrities have to charge if they are doing a autograph show.

@@postersandstuff I've never understood that crap with athletes and celebrities using autopens and secretarial signatures. Just trash it or mail it back unsigned and be done with it.
