Just saw the route map. Reminded me- I drove from Panama City, FL to Fairbanks in the 90's in a Pontiac! 8 days- 5,084 miles. Almost ran out of gas once in Canada and was swarmed by giant unearthly mosquitoes.
I admire your persistence in problem-solving. This should be a lesson for those who venture of the paved road. If you can't fix it, don't go there. Well done!
Jason and Kara, These videos of Canada are just too exciting, as I sit and watch your show from Florida, my heart still belongs in the North and a Big Thank You for this. I'm not so sure how relaxed I would be having a breakdown up there. I also would be laying in the mud trying to figure it out. The diesel looked pretty hairy though. I'm sure you changed not just your filters but also the engine oil . Lord knows what water can do to an engine. The roads look exactly like New Brunswick logging roads. I once had a slice of bluestone pierce a new tire up there. And I thought that pretty amazing. Meeting friends in such a remote location is just pure luck. What a 1 in a million coincidence. Tuk was nice to see. The photos of tasting MUK were telling me that you must have acquired a taste for it since a very young age. Smoked fish, Yes. But since you drove all that way you had to taste everything new. Thanks for the e-mail and your probably still in Central America. Your Rig is holding up and serving you very well. Be safe as I continue to overlook your Everlanding. Gerry
I never had a favorite youtuber before but now I do. Thank yall so much for putting up the fantastic content you do. Only a few vids in and its been incredibly, incredibly helpful. Off to binge.. yall be safe and keep the content comin🤙

Hey CP, I mentioned to Jason just 1 or 2 weeks ago to do a collaboration with you since your both from Saskatchewan. Maybe he gave you a shout out. Happy to see you here. A little late for these videos of Jasons' but as I watch other Overlanders, I always come back to "The Man". Tuk would be about the safest place to be when the SHTF. Come on, get a Rig and do a Series with Jason and Kara. Show us Yankees just how beautiful and safe Canada is. Peace CP, Gerry
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT VIDEO guys! I almost was in tears for two reasons I guess. !. you didnt mention the hockey tape that you canadians are famous for (lol) and second, the fact that you met someone who it seems randomly showed up where you were and you knew them. Kinda relived my experience coming to the US 20 years ago and of all places to Fargo ND and getting there at 1 am instead of 2 pm (when i had ppl from myschool picking me up) the day before and out of nowhere people i knew from childhood showed up (and we were from another country and didnt know we were in the US) who took me home because at that time Fargo didnt have a taxi available at night to pick you up at the airport!
I worked in the North for about 10 years on the DEWLINE in the 80's and 90's and spent a few months in Tuktoyaktuk which was different than other sites because the village, stores and people as opposed to 12 people in the middle of nowhere. Nice to see the all weather road even if it is rough compared only to the winter ice road. You have a nice truck designed for off the pavement adventures and I enjoyed your video.
Happened to me and my lady in our old truck a whole lot of years ago up in remote Canada. Driving on the bumpy bad roads shook the sediment up in the tank resulting in "Black gas" fouling the fuel system. Chugged 1/4 mile at a time for 100 miles to nearest mechanic. $7 bucks to fix with a new fuel filter. On another trip up the haul road my family (4 kids, 8-15yo) and I waded in the Arctic Ocean...some fools jumped in. Dang nice video. Best
Fantastic video! love the way you describe the North country! Glad to hear you solved the fuel problem, good to see you met up with so many other overlanders! must have been such an awesome time hanging out sharing stories!
Inspirational. I had been avoiding watching the actual travel content to keep from getting too antsy, but I broke down and watched most of it now and I haven't been so inspired to get back on the road in a long time. You guys do a great job documenting and explaining your experiences. Can't wait to get back out.
That was awesome to see, and hear you made it up. Always a good feeling to solve any problem. I rode my bike up to Tuk the first week of July. Great ride, beautiful land. Safe travels, have fun
Well done on so many levels. I agree with both you and Frank... After driving both the the Dalton in Alaska, which is known as one of the most dangerous highways in the world, and the Dempster to Tuk, I have to say that the Dempster was orders of magnitude more difficult. However, arriving in Tuk was fantastic and well worth the (struggle) drive. So glad to have met you there. (fishy gummy bears, omg!) Looking forward to meeting up again on the road! #travelon
Glad you got rolling again! Your tank debris was most likely caused by dirty fuel from the station, looks like your in the clear now. Maybe check your tank breather/vent to make sure the check valve can't back feed and elevated for fording. Yummy fish gummies!
Very cool! We had family who worked there years ago too, that is part of the reason we did and more in-depth tour of the town... it's interesting to me to see the change over the years, we will have to see if we can review some old photos...
@@Everlanders a friend of mine had his pilots license, we rented a cessna in Inuvik and flew up to Tuk for the day. nice coincidence. Yesterday, I finished installing an auxiliary gas tank and spin on fuel filter in my F150 in preparation for road trips to the Baja and Alaska. My idea is to fill the aux tank at the gas station, and then pump the gas through the fuel filter before filling the vehicle tank. I am hoping this will eliminate most fuel related issues, while more than doubling the range of my pickup.

I heard a good idea is to ask the fuel station attendant when they recieved fuel from a tanker truck. Apparently when the truck puts fuel in the tanks, this stirs all the crud at the bottom. The pumps have filters, but they only filter for the pumps to operate, thus the contaminated fuel goes into your tank. Tank settles after a while and other people have no problems... Just a thought, thanks for the video...

Love the clever build, great job. I wonder if your fuel problem was caused by purchasing poor quality fuel. I always hate having to purchase diesel from a station that gets no traffic
If you’re going to a place with sketchy fuel, I’d buy and use a Racor RFF15C High Flow fuel filter funnel. For about $90 US, it’s a non-conductive funnel with built-in filters that prevent water and crap from going into your fuel tank. It handles 15 GPM. I use one all the time when we go south into Baja California. And if you don’t use your truck for a few months, put some Biobor JF in there to fill algae.

This is such basic information i don't understand why the overland crowd doesn't utilize it more, us farmers/ranchers have been using it for years with all types of questionable fuels. I guess that its because we don't use our equipment for fun, if we cant run livestock goes hungry or we don't make money.

wow you guys put on the miles i just put in a Banks Power Exhaust Elbow Assembly and Banks Power Big Head Wastegate Actuators better off bottom response 50 to 100 F lower EGTS ! less smoke of bottom have banks air box and 4 inch exhaust as well is was the latest mod and supper happy truck just runs better safe drive back
This dude just needs to go make a couple videos with Jaime Hyneman. I appreciated the info on utilities. It is something that always interested me and I would not mind working for a town or city and managing how people get delivered services.
Great video. I like your presentation style. Hey, what's your thoughts on a F450 with a truck camper. Would you see any major issues travelling the same route you travelled.
As long as it hasn't rained, the roads should be good, we saw many road crews and graders cleaning up when we were leaving... If there is rain, there will be potholes and mud, take it slow or you could damage your slide in camper.
@@Everlanders thanks for the response. I live in Coal Harbour BC, witch was a whaling station for 50 years. A good friend grew up here, and his mother used to get first top grade whale meat, almost the same as eating roast beef. They used to make sandwich,s for the loggers, and they never knew that it was whale meat. I guess you can smoke anything. Steve
Boy... this the first video of your's I've watched and 30 seconds into it I must comment. While the ocean north of North America is spelt Arctic, it is pronounced artic. The Southern ocean is pronounced arctic. This avoids misunderstandings as to which ocean you are referring. Not a great start.
No, the filters are actually Baldwin Brand, but if you saw the conclusion video, you'll see it was actually the Titan Tank breather that was the problem. ruclips.net/video/lVlnJbQPbw4/видео.html

Or is an all-in-one setup such as your amazing rig be more advisable? Do you see folks out there pulling caravans?
We saw them, yes. But in the conditions we were in, don't envy them one bit. If the weather is good, it would be fine...
I knew you would solve the fuel pump problem! As said you are brilliant! Keep going! Ah, when will you everland in Europe?
but most of all am glad you guys are safe and all. first real scare you guys gave me!
One day I need you guys to help make my dream come true while guiding me to get the solar system mechanics worked out like your rig ...hahahahaha...
how cold would you say the water was when you dipped your feet in??
Hmmm... Maybe 10°c ??
My feet aren't the best thermometers...
tell us about your fuel pump problem and how you fixed it thanks in advance
Looks like you need an e-fat bike :) they are a lot of fun and will get you out of trouble
You must have skipped over the whole section where I explain why this would never have worked... Check it. 5:00

This dude just needs to go make a couple videos with Jaime Hyneman.
I appreciated the info on utilities. It is something that always interested me and I would not mind working for a town or city and managing how people get delivered services.
I was channeling my inner Hyne with that walrus bit 😂
That is a completely brilliant idea!
How I spent my summer vacation, Bueller Bueller. 😂👊👍😎
I watched the Engel fridge/freezer podcast and was wondering which model you have.
I need a nice freezer for Ice Cream : )
Engel MB40V-H 12/24V DC drop-in fridge-freezer - with attached compressor
@@Everlanders Thank you : )
Slave Lake shoutout!!
I was in Tuk just a few weeks ago and I wonder where you bought that bad Diesel...?!
I didn't want to name a station, because I can't be sure which it was.
If you keep driving north, you will find the opening to the center of the earth.
We ran out of solid ground, we were as far North as one can drive...
@@Everlanders the rest of the way has to be covered by air.
I find this man's awkward facial expressions hilarious
That's why we kept him around!
Is that a 6.4 or 6.7 powerstroke?
7.3
@@Everlanders sorry, i just found your walk around video! Nice rig for sure.

Saw you at Costco St. Albert a few minutes ago
Yes Indeed!
@15:56 .. Matt probably wanted to say “tabarnac sti “ lol
Like breaking down in the winter in canada, Never!!! Leave your vehicle. Its your shelter.
Correct!
It's to bad they did not sell any whale MEAT, I guess keeping the good stuff for themselves!
They did... We has some that was smoked...

Bought some bad fuel !!

I thought the pingos were an indigenous population
Nope... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pingo
Boy... this the first video of your's I've watched and 30 seconds into it I must comment. While the ocean north of North America is spelt Arctic, it is pronounced artic. The Southern ocean is pronounced arctic. This avoids misunderstandings as to which ocean you are referring. Not a great start.
🌠 The More you Know, thanks!
Eating endangered species is for indigenous survival only please.
It was for the survival of her food truck!
...ford...
No, the filters are actually Baldwin Brand, but if you saw the conclusion video, you'll see it was actually the Titan Tank breather that was the problem. ruclips.net/video/lVlnJbQPbw4/видео.html
going electric
Yes
You are far too tense. You need to learn how to be a lot more laid back.
And we care why?
@@cmh2111 Look up sarcasm in the dictionary.
@@Roarmeister2 I did, its right next to unnecessary comments.
@@cmh2111 Zoom. There goes an obvious joke flying over your tiny head.
I subscribed initially because I enjoyed your technical videos. I watched this video today. Your travel videos are about average. When I heard you call yourself a RUclips star and a celebrity, I instantly became nauseous. As soon as I finish this note, I am going to unsubscribe. It's kind of like Donald Trump constantly tells us how great he is! Most hate braggarts.
We are clearly not stars or celebrities, it was sarcastic joke... Adios amigo.
