This brings back a lot of memories of my years living in Saipan. Every person that I know who have lived on the islands of the CNMI still consider it "home". It is true that the locals are very friendly and there are many similarities in culture. What this episode wasn't very clear was that the Philippines and the Marianas Islands were once one territory under Spain. We were called the Spanish East Indies. I wish Jay was able to go inside a Chamorro household and see the similarities... instead of a restaurant. Sana nakatikim sya ng kelaguen katne (beef kelaguen) o di kaya kelaguen binadu (deer kelaguen). One major fact that this episode missed is that Saipan has TWO predominant ethnic cultures: Chamorro and Carolinian. The Carolinians speak a different language, have a different appearance, and have a slightly different culture. In fact dalawa yung version ng CNMI Anthem, yung Chamorro version: Gi Talo Gi Halom Tali at yung Carolinian version: Satil Matawal Pasifiko. They also missed the importance of Saipan in World War 2 History. One visit to the American Memorial Museum in Garapan would have informed Jay that if the Americans were not able to capture Saipan and Tinian, our history would have been much different, particularly because the plane carrying the atomic bombs that destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki needed a halfway point to refuel and load the bombs. The WW2 was an important part of the island's histories. Finally, I think the stories of Banzai Cliff and Suicide Cliffs are much, much more interesting than seeing Jay win a dancing game. :) Regardless, Thank you for featuring the islands that I have learned to love!
Thanks Jay for giving us insight. or lesson about our beautiful world. To know how God love us . this Paradise in the meddle of pacific ocean. is not man made. Is it? . l would love to go there . thanks again Jay. keep us inform.and keep up the good work
It's all natural.
Hafa Daiboi you are partly right. according to our Philippine history BEFORE Spain came, the Pacific Islands were once occupied by our ancestors journeying to and fro in our balangay boat. I just found out about it from watching Solomon's Gold Philippines with references to actual Spanish documents that they researched. And remembered something about this when I was in grade school, but just thought to be a hear say by my teacher then because she didn't know and just heard about it from somebody as well.

Micronesia, Polynesia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Hawaii, Guam, New Zealand, Christmas Island and all Pacific Island are all Austronesians similarities in languages, counting numbers, blood chemistry, food etc. these are populated thru the wave movement and strong south wind and most of them used boat or canoe with outrigger and or sailboat, origin maybe Indonesia which has the largest of them all, and Indonesia comes from India a Tamil group, with the Majapahit empire which rule the South Seas long before the Europeans subdivided and colonized the entire South east Asia.
Exactly we are all austronesians decendant
Civilization originated in The Philippines. It is where Adan and Eve lives. Please watch the GOD CULTURE series to understand more about the Filipino history. YAHUAH(YHWH) Bless!!
@@randomviralvideos5110 don't confuse REAL history to religious history.
@@harveyybiosa7328 What is RELIGIOUS HISTORY if there were no RELIGION before JUST FAITH? And there were no RELIGION at the time of our ancestors because they only BELIEVE IN ONE GOD their FAITH on HIM IS UNBREAKABLE and THE SO CALLED RELIGION that you were talking about is just a system a system of WORSHIP!!! Where you have to obey a HUMANS RULE and not GODS RULE.
@@randomviralvideos5110 isn't believing and having faith AND worshipping some form of manifestation of god and religion the same thing?and REAL history and religious history are two different topic where real history is based on fact, records, and data where as religious history came from the bible and not based on fact, records, and data if I'm wrong then tell me.when and why did civilization originated from the Philippines, and if your a die hard believer then tell me why did the Catholic church killed 50-68 million Muslims during the inquisition and crusades from 1095-1492?
The people living there are just like Filipinos, their culture, food, etc.are exactly they same. The island is very close to the Philippines.

Mariana's territory was under Philippines territory during the time of Spanish until Japanese occupation. That is why there are more Filipinos and some are look like Filipinos. After world war 2 when the American gave the independence to Philippines, USA noticed the importance of Marianas territory. The USA take the Marianas territory as their protectorate because of it's strategic location for military in the Pacific.

Those pillars were knocked by a strong natural force. They were not built by an ordinary human muscles....!!!

Those dances shown here are not the traditional Saipan dances. These are more Hawaiian and Tahitian dances. The Maori segments are not very authentic.
Waste Water or Sewage Traetment Plant is the most important infrastructure to make our seas, rivers, lakes or creeks very clean. Physical Planning, cleanliness and care for environment.
