Open is an incredible book, and among all the teachings it leaves there is one that stands out above all... If you want to write an autobiography it's a good idea to contact a Pulitzer Award winning writer
Jelena Dokic's book was deeply moving. The dark side of tennis parents and child abuse. She's written a follow-up that I haven't got my hands on yet but I look forward to reading it. I have a lot of respect for her.
Can you please make a video discussing things to keep in mind when you are struggling to become a tennis pro? Like for players who are 19 or older, mistakes they generally make and tips for future like Andy himself says the he wasn't really good until he got a good coach so how to recognise and when to believe in a coach also why situation of tennis is bad in India what the organisation can improve and add. Thank you for making these podcast love your style and i get learn a lot ❤
Agree 100%. Open was a great book that I couldn’t put down! I think ‘Breaking Back’ by James Blake is also worth a mention. A truly excellent and very inspirational book that changed my life in some very positive ways! Definitely worth a read as well. And finally, The Master (of course, based on Federer) is also an excellent read!
I love that Andre is now standing up for Kyrgios where so many others are totally misunderstanding what he's trying to do. I watched a Louis Theroux pod with Kyrgios in which Louis asked if he'd read Open and he said he had and got a lot out of it. When people on X make AI pictures of Sinner gloating over Nick in a coffin, and presenters talk about Nick as dead, I think he's got a lot more to deal with than Andre had. So let's hope he never writes a book. Andre never had social media to deal with. Here's hoping for a clean slate for everyone in 2025. Supportive and constructive.
Kyrgios has trolled Sinner unprovoked for months. He has even poked fun at Sinner’s girlfriend. He even accused Andy Rodrick of using steroids. Kyrgios is not a victim. He invites negativity based on his vile treatment of others.
I bought it when it came out. My friends and I joked about Andre complaining about his Dad making him practice so much he ended up with $100M and married a superstar with even more money than he made. The only time Andre sanitized himself was when he admitted doing meth, which made him.....clean his house. He must have omitted at least a few wild nights in Vegas.

Some of that book is utter BS. No, Andre did NOT tank against Michael Chang in an Australian Open semi final because he wasn't up for the match against Becker in the final. That's one of many suspect assertions
Lmao The best book ever written No I don't think so. If you want to hear Andre cry about how much he hates tennis read it otherwise I would read something else.lmao
Same feeling here. How many times Agassi said he ‘hated’ tennis in the book😂 I thought it’s so unfair that he got everything including his lovely wife Steffi Graf, the most amazing female tennis player because of tennis.
What's up with Roddick's face? Is he melting? Agassi was such a miserable whiner. He hated playing tennis, and he was bad for tennis. His book was unreadable and self absorbed and miserable. He played during a nadir in tennis. He wasn't much of an athlete, was charisma less and was only paid attention to because he was American.
Nope. Agassi is one of the greats, no question. One of the few men who has won all four slams, and has won 8 of them (tied with Rosewall, Perry, Connors, and Lendl). He was no question Sampras’ greatest rival. There’s your opinion, and there’s reality. Simple as that. What exactly about Agassi has you so butthurt about him? Envy? Ironically, you seem like the miserable one.
Let's hope you don't own a tennis academy and try to teach kids about resilience. Or maybe you only teach saints how to stay on their pedestals? Most of us are incredibly human.
It seems like you're not a fan of Andre Agassi, but let's be real-he was undeniably one of the most gifted and influential tennis players of all time. Yes, he faced significant challenges, but those very struggles made his story all the more powerful. His autobiography, raw and unfiltered, connected with countless people because of its brutal honesty about fame, addiction, and mental health. Your post, however, feels unnecessarily harsh. By the way-Andy Roddick underwent a procedure to treat skin cancer on his face, and he's openly discussed it on his *Served* channel. If you’d actually watched his episodes, you'd know that.
I have read pretty much all the biographies of most of the tennis players from the past to present. Agassi book isn't the best, but it isn't the worst. There are better ones. Especially from the pros from the 60s and 70s. Sampras book was very good. Sharapova and Monica Seles books may be 2 of the better ones. Andy name was in a tennis novel called "Red Dirt" which was a great tennis fiction novel
David Foster Wallace’s collection of tennis stories ‘String Theory’ has got to be right up there
Amazing book can read over and over. Wimning ugly is awesome too
"Steffi, you paved the way. You warmed up the court for me"

Amazing view into one of the greatest🎾. He has gone on to be even greater as a philanthropist.
OPEN is the best tennis book I’ve ever read. It was so good.
That's because it's not a tennis book. It's a life book about a tennis player. It's great, and you don't really have to be a tennis fan to enjoy it.

My favorite book ever.

“Open” was a very good book. 😊
The tennis in Infinite Jest is pretty much brilliant (David Foster Wallace).
Enjoyed the book

I would say Infinite Jest ( by DFW) is the best tennis book ever
Will read it soon. Too much sun, Andy? Hang in there 👍🙈🫶🏻
I thought it was a good read but he didn't have to make those catty personal remarks about Sampras.
I am a Sampras fan, but still enjoyed it
Open ofc!
What happened to Andys face? Did his wife beat him up?
Andy, have you been to the dermatologist recently? Not so lekker, is it!
oh, or Winning Ugly -- BG
1000% Open

Wow Andy sounds like you don't read too much 😅
Lmao

Andy can't read😂
Martina's autobiography was really good... have you read that- or, like most men, just disregard a woman's effort?

Robert, that's ridiculous. His stats speak for themself. There's no getting around it. He won.
