- In this video, we cover pump chart basics, fully explaining pump curves and system curves.
At the end of this presentation, participants will better understand the following:
The component parts of a pump curve
Pump curves explained, what is a pump system curve?
Pump curve vs. system curve
What is a pump control curve?
How to use a pump curve to validate pump flow and performance
The basic components of centrifugal pumps.
Pump curves for centrifugal pumps.
We will also touch on system pressure and head relationship, how to read manufacturers pump curves, variable speed pump curves, how to determine the pump's best efficiency point, and Net Positive Suction Head Available (NPSHA).
This presentation was hosted by Tony Mormino with Insight Partners and Tony Furst with Armstrong Fluid Technology.

Really informative with great real world case implication. Thank you !
Helped alot with understanding my ME school lab experiment on pump and system curves and NPSH.
Glad to hear it!
Nice presentation. Thanks for sharing so beautifully. Best regards
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing this. I don’t know much about pumps and it’s about to show . I have a few questions if you don’t mind answering.
In a closed loop system, the pump only has to overcome the pressure drop through the loop? Height such as 1 story to 3 story building doesn’t matter?
On a closed loop system I just subtract the inlet pressure from the outlet pressure and use that info on a pump curve?
If I go to a mechanical room with no info on the system how do I go about testing without breaking down the pump since different size impellers may installed?
Excellent post, how can I get the presentation
Hi thank you for watching. Email me at tmormino@insightusa.com and I can get that to you. Have a great day!

i think i understand what you mean and it kinda annoyed me too at first
