I wonder if the reason the Traveler doesn't have their memories is because we sacrificed our memories and "died" in a Homa ritual to push back the Abyss. Venti remembered us, but didn't seem that surprised we didn't remember him. The Abyss twin knows we are going to again sacrifice ourselves to create a net against the Abyss and is trying to find a way - from the Abyss side - to make that not necessary. I get the feeling that we are reliving something we've done time and time again before, and the Abyss twin knows this. And -- like Homura in Madoka Magika -- is reliving these awful events again and again and again, trying to find a way to save us.
So traveler was asleep for ~500yrs after the offering, they lost their memories and Paimon's fragmented recollection can only be described as "sucked in some sort of whirlpool". That weird rock we came across in the Fortress of Meropide triggered something that is suppressed in Paimon.
I always think about Venti remembering Traveler, but a lot of people seem to forget or skip over it really hope the Mondstadt patch happens soon, the Bard's eluded to way too many things I want to be drip-fed more of
Thoma has homa in his name, is from monstadt and pyro vision holder who nearly got his vision taken while kneeling in front of the electro archon statue who has a symbol of homa. Hmmmm....
Heavenly Principles: Tries to save Teyvat, *Capitano* style ("sacrifice the memories! Survival 1st!"); *Shades:* Tries to save Teyvat, Mavuika style ("save the memories! Simply 'surviving' isn't living!").
And I think Tsaritsa seeks to do it Mavuika style too: by trying to incinerate the whole of Abyss, so that Teyvat would finally be safe from its threat.
That is what the Heavenly Principles have done in the past The Celestial Nails repel the abyss but, they turned a kingdom into Dragonspine and other places
I think this is what the abyss twin is trying to do as well and why they hate the heavenly principles so much. they've seen that the HP have put survival above all else akin to capitano but maybe what they're trying to do with the abyss and the loom of fate is a mavuika style approach to protecting teyvat
@@kotarouinugami1745 I don't think the Tsaritsa wants to demolish the world per se. It is canon that she wants to fight against the Celestia, and I guess the fight against them would probably uplevel teyvat, just like the dragon war has destroyed a huge part of teyvat
@@McNugge. I refer to her desire to "burn away the old world", expressed in the gemstone. She doesn't seem to plan to destroy the human world, but she does seem to want some massive changes in cosmology.
The seelie sacrifices remind me of that time you got obsessed with Paimon being emergency food, aka sacrament, aka sacrifice. Best of luck to Paimon going forward.
Omg I remember that video, we were talking about....omg, we are gonna need to sacrifice ourselves but paimon steps in sacrifice herself instead of us. My mind is blown in pieces right now
THANK YOU! I've been telling my friends about his symbol since I started seeing it everywhere (Statue, anemo symbol, Xiao's entire design & constellation, osials head e.t.c), they called me a madman. And now you put it all together in a neat package. I feel vindicated
28:59 Your phrasing here really tickled my brain a little bit. Do you think that the reason that the Canotila sees the Traveler as a monster that can "swallow the whole world in a single bite" is a reference to their ability to completely surround Teyvat with this net? Maybe the Traveler is sort of like the All-Devouring Narwhal which rebirths worlds inside itself, or like Apep who shields her children inside her body. It's a theme they bring up from time to time, so maybe this is what it is ultimately referring to? Even the emergency food jokes could be a reference to this and the Traveler will need to Homa sacrifice Paimon by consuming her in order to gain enough power to create the "net".
most relevant to this particular wording, you should read the 'Kabbalah in the Worldbuilding of Genshin Impact,' series of theories, which Ashikai draws inpsiration from. tl;dr In those theories, the primordial human is seen as a universe in it of themselves
speaking of "all devouring" we do have an example of a person supporting a bubble world in the hoyoverse mythology. Looking at the other games, perhaps in some aspect the traveler is like durandel, the absorber/anchor of a bubble world, teyvat. Just in terms of word and idea association.
The mention of Simurgh (the mythological bird) is fitting here as it has connections to Homa bird, but furthermore, in mythology, there's a text called 'The Conference of The Birds', in which all birds gather and decide that they should have a king, since they have none. They decide to go find the legendary Simurgh to be their ruler, but the path to Simurgh is littered with exactly seven challenges (common theme in mythology), which, some of them are weirdly familiar to the Traveler's experiences in each nation (like the idea of unifying all beings in one which is every-damn-where in Teyvat, one burning in love for all beings, one not knowing answers to questions, one finding wisdom a mirage- you get the memo) and they do end in enlightenment and knowledge of the working of the world, but I digress. What matters is, in the end, thirty of these birds arrive to where Simurgh must be, only to find a lake, upon which they see their own reflection (LMAO "THE SIMURGH WAS THE FRIENDS WE MADE ALONG THE WAY" I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING THAT'S THE CONCLUSION) and realize that _they_ were the Simurgh all along: _“If Simorgh unveils its face to you, you will find_ _that all the birds, be they thirty or forty or more,_ _are but the shadows cast by that unveiling._ _What shadow is ever separated from its maker?_ _Do you see?_ _The shadow and its maker are one and the same,_ _so get over surfaces and delve into mysteries.”_ (The whole poem is practically a pun played on the word "Simurgh" which can be divided into meaning 'thirty birds' lol Attar is hilarious) But what I'm trying to point out here is that for these thirty birds to arrive, literally hundreds and thousands die throughout the quests. Basically, sacrifices. But the idea of one 'ruler' essentially becomes the reality of all of them being the ultimate ruler, like how the people of Teyvat try time and again to be their own 'ruler', to be masters of their own fate. (Which reminds me a lot of Inazuma and Sumeru where the ambitions/wisdom of all people was put into the Traveler to avoid a terrible fate, because the Traveler is the game-changer of Teyvat and is technically defying fate, symbolized by them not being recorded in Irminsul)
The part about the Hilichurls mask and the Homa symbol is just fooooul holy shit, somehow their lore get more tragic as time goes on lmao Also interesting bit about Inazuma, would reframe a LOT of Ei's actions which I would find super cool actually I really like this theory, I think this could easily be confirmed in some direct way in the future - also openign a new gateway to see things in super cool stuff!
Loved this video! And actually linking Homa (هما) to Simurgh (سیمرغ) isn’t a wrong analogy at all! They’re pretty similar in Persian mythology and they always played similar roles powers and stories. The main difference is that Homa is much older (from the old Persian empire days to be exact.) while Simorgh is a version that we see in more modernized Persian/farsi literature. (Around 940 CE). And yes it’s definitely fair and accurate to relate them to a Phoenix. They share the same themes of rebirth, protection and fire related abilities. The most famous story that includes Simorgh is about a boy (named Zal) that was left in the wild by his family because they thought him being albino is a curse. Simorgh finds the boy and trains him in the mountains to become a brave warrior and he ends up saving the empire and those people who left him to die. It’s a great story tbh! Kinda reminds me of cloud retainer and shenhe! Don’t you think?
@@stranget6033 Wait… omggg and she’s from the simorgh/homa ish clan… why didn’t I think of it? Him being considered cursed or weird or being an outsider makes total sense. But again, we also told the same story with Shenhe.
Chasca has been raised by red, bird-shaped saurians, and ends up being instrumental in saving Natlan in recent events Ororon has been likewise left in the wild to fend for himself and helped save Natlan. Both Bennett and Razor have been abandoned as babies and raised by others, both have white hair and fair skin. Kaeya and Peruere have been left as children in the care of strangers, Kaeya explicitly so that he may save Kanreiah (or what's left of it) Also there's a bunch of NPC boys being cared for, raised or protected by illuminated beasts, god-birds and other, powerful creatures. It's a well-established trope in Teyvat
@@TanyaItkin right… well, I mean… Genshin surely loves the trope!!! for real, I didn’t even think how many characters share that lore. But again who doesn’t love a victim to victor redemption?
With the theme of yajnas : the aranara quest Agnihotra Sutra also references such a cleansing yajna in the very name of the quest....Agnihotra being the ritual referenced, sutra meaning narrative or tale or sequence of events
Hello, I speak hindi and wanted to say that "yasna" in hindi means "prayer" or "worship" and "pati" usually means "husband" but can also be used as a suffix which changes the meaning to "lord." For example, the word "Rashtrapati" is Hindi's equivalent of President of a country where "rashtra" means country and "pati" means "the lord" so it is like the Lord of the country. So, "yasnapati" would mean something like "Lord of worship/prayer" or in my perception, the lord of the yagya/yajna as the yagya is a form of worship. Also, since we practically become permanently attached to the Pari (fairy in Hindi btw), we are kind of like it's husband in a way providing even more meaning to the term! Additionalluy, in Zoroastrianism, the Yazna ritual which is almost identical to the Hindu Yagya/Yajna uses uses an offering called the "Haoma" which is apparently a sacred liquor. Upon research, I found a paragraph and I quote, "The yasna ceremony is a theological function that aims to strengthen the divine order and the cosmic integrity of the good creation of Ahura Mazdā. **The proper performance of the yasna ceremony is believed to prevent the cosmos from falling into chaos.**" I found that sentence very interesting considering the sacred flame of Natlan was dying out which led to the entire abyss monster breakout chaos. So many interconnections, the more you dig, the more you find!
i shall add another variable in the symbol equation of the homa. the staff of homa looks like a fountain pen. which corelates with writing which leads to the hexenzirkel making written stories into reality.
So... remember this passage from Anecdota Septentrionalis? "After those events, we continued sailing onward for another 300 days on a vast, featureless ocean. Finally, we arrived at a tall wall in the middle of the sea, stretching out of sight, high up into the sky. Countless densely packed human figures were suspended from the wall, and though they had neither bodies nor muscles, their forms could clearly be seen. All on this earth who speak lies, or pen falsehoods in their writings, will be hung from this wall to receive judgment after their death. As for who built this wall, or what lies beyond it, I do not know, for everything in this travelogue is completely true, and thus we had no way to get close to the wall." Something something firmament, something something cubes with consciousnesses in them
@nicolas._.2294 Sorry for the late reply - it's from Anecdota Septentrionalis, which is the collectable book you get in the Faded Castle. The author says that everything in it is fake, but there are a few things that line up really well with our understanding of the lore which make it seem more allegorical. It's inspired by the "first science fiction story" which was written in 2nd century Syria by Lucian of Samosata, called "A True Story" as a parody of the (supposedly biographical) "travelogue" genre at the time.
I need to point out how Inazuma felt so incomprehensible at the start-or, at best, shallow. There didn’t seem to be any clear narrative intentionality behind the Vision Hunt Decree, aside from vague rambles about ambition and how progress was incompatible with eternity. To the average player, this just came across as nonsensical pessimism from Ei and the Shogun. The reasons behind it felt overly personal, centered mostly on Ei’s losses (or at least, that’s how they were presented at the time). Over time, though, I find myself revisiting Inazuma’s lore every few patches, as new information sheds light on what was really happening there. For example, while I loved Ei’s second story quest, I didn’t fully understand what was going on with the Sacred Sakura Tree. We all knew it cleansed filth, but Makoto’s claim that Inazuma was "free from the Heavenly Principles" just felt like dramatic wording to me. Turns out, she really did mean it. I only began to conceptualize this after Dainsleif’s quest about the Loom of Fate and your findings on what it entailed. Now, with the idea that the Vision Hunt Decree might have been part of a broader Homa ritual project-building up a "soul net" to further isolate but also protect Inazuma-it makes more sense. Ei’s line in that event, "Avoid a war at all costs," now reads to me as "Avoid the cycle of sacrifices and offerings." From a character study perspective, this adds depth to Ei’s relationship with the Heavenly Principles: shifting from pursuing a thin connection between them and Inazuma to completely detaching from them. It also clarifies why the Fatui were so invested in the Vision Hunt Decree and why it wasn’t just blindly accepted by the Shogun or tacitly by Ei. This reframes the initial presentation of Ei and the Shogun as overly manipulable figures with weak reasoning. I now think there’s much more intentionality and complexity behind their actions.
And Ive just had an idea what if the purpose of visions is the selection of sacrifices. A descenders power is their will, a vision is granted when will reaches the heavens, this will can repel the abyss, all of khanriahs will was defiant against the gods but still a strong will for the people, visions supposedly enable ascension after death what if this ascension is actually them becoming a part of the soul net a composite afterlife of souls that believe their being rewarded for their actions in life and are now gods but in reality are just sacrifices to keep the abyss out, ergo receiving a vision is a death sentence and a mistake because instead of returning to the laylines and the cycle of life and death to be reborn after dying you become a sacrifice
truthfully i think sumeru shouldve come before inazuma. ashikai mentioned it in a livestream a while back but it is still wild that they had history altering on such a large scale before even mentioning that that was a thing that could possibly happen. its only after you learn about irminsul's existence that ei's 2nd quest makes any amount of sense logically. inazuma still has some of the worst dialogue and story beats but i cannot deny the lore of inazuma has always captivating.
@@sebay4654 Doesn't this also sound a bit like the ancient names. In a way the ancient names could be seen as a scaled-down, custom version for Natlan' specifically. They are both granted to individuals, which are seen as worthy by a higher power, as a symbol for the individual's higher purpose of protecting the world or Natlan. Both are all uniquely named. Both require the individual to embrace/embody a certain ideal or set of ideals, which represent the constellation/ancient name. And while we have seen only one example of a vision being used by another after its original owner had passed away, it is like how the ancient names are passed down. The only major differences between them being that ancient names do not grant an additional ability or power to the owner, and need to be man-made, which could be due to the fact that this is a scaled down, unofficially repurposed system. Furthermore, since Ronova was responsible for making all this a reality based on Xbalanque's request, it's very like that the Ancient Names really are just a scaled-down model of the Visions, as the shades already know they work well in the grand scheme of things. This would make the ancient names a more primitive version of the Visions (as Venti would probably say). So overall, the Ancient Names could also actually be a way to indirectly tell us more about the Visions.
Ashi video during maintenence is PEAK. Getting my fix of Genshin lore while waiting for 5.2 to drop. Edit: I REALLY want Lavawalker lore to become relevant again. I hope we get to meet the actual phoenix.
Mentioning the Homa makes me think of the “Staff of Homeless” situation. Ah 1.3, you were young and chipper and bearer of one RUclipsr’s most aggravating wishing session ever. If you know, you know.
I've been thinking, isn't the loss of all her memories the kind of death that awaits Mavuika? Each time I see her reviewing her memories on that golden path, I cannot help but think she's telling them good bye.
Damn, is this how Hoyo will get away this time with the archon's sacrifice while also keeping them technically still alive, as so far there was a twin (Inazuma), a predecessor (Sumeru), a separated self (Fontiane), now it will be Mavuika's memories? Kind of like how Nahida forgot about her previous iteration, but this time it will be the same physical body? 🤔
@@vergiltasev7108 Well, a sacrifice needs to be done. And they've been foreshadowing it already when she sacrificed her mementos to rescue Kachina's rescue party from the night land.
hahahaha tiny correction Yajna is actually pronounced "yuh-gyuh" I'm not a linguist so idk why but someone decided the romanization for gya/gyuh should be "jna" (ps We still write gya as in yagya when texting...very few people use the official yajna spelling over the phonetic yagya spelling)
I think it's cause yajana is sanskrit while yagya is hindi. I was also confused about this so i searched it up, the word is still "यज्ञ" but can be pronounced differently.
Your comment about the traveler possibly having the potential to envelop the world reminded me of that one unique melusine that said Paimon's aura looks like a balloon whose strings stretch up all the way to the sky, and that the traveler's aura looked like a huge monster that could *swallow the world whole*.
every single time you post a Genshin theory video I am in complete awe because of how great they are and appreciation for all the research you do to create them
You know what they say… all Genshin Impact theories lead to Khaenri'ah… why am I not surprised. Absolutely love all your work, Ashikai!!! Keep it up♥️♥️♥️
@@Stance11479 The gliders actually have a consistent record of revealing the biggest lore, so it's not maddening, it's a just reward for clearing all the regions and even paying money to get some of them lol Go check them out, they are how we found some of the creation myth lore outside of the big lore books
When Ashikai asked what the most important repeating symbol in the game was I first thought of rainbows. Then the triquetra of course because we see Paimon so much!
i know that I'm a bit crazy (I've already done the mission of Ochkanatlan and chapter 5 and I'm halfway through an unknown mission), but the new information is like, wow! It appears that the theory that humans are technically aliens, is right. I won't get too much into it, because of spoilers, but also because it's too much for my brain right now, where I am now it's like 1:45 am, so I'm not functioning properly right now, but that's something i noticed?... it can be different but i'm a player that's interested in the story more than the gameplay, so i think that's what it meant.
This is making me wonder if the "marriage" between the so called Seelie ancestor and the traveler from afar was semi allegorical for the Seelies as a whole calling upon the powers of the abyss, or an abyssal manifestation.
Great video and theory, A thought came to mind watching this, The whole 'Burning of Irmansul" shown in Collei's vision, could that be an event where in someone is offering up Irmansul.
My theory is Aether and Lumine are 2 halves of Nibelung. Aether is the body(gnosis) and Lumine is the imaginary(authority). The reason Aether can’t use his powers is cause he was separated from Lumine. Also since they are separated their memories are incomplete like Neuvillette until he regained his authority. And we know minds/divinity can be seperated from body/soul… like furina. We also know the twins are the price/princess of a destroyed civilization??? (Dragons!?!?) There are tons of examples of duality. Plus there is evidence to suggest the travelers are actually from Teyvat. Nibelung aka the traveler was from Teyvat left and came back a descender. I rest my case!
Hi there! I found this channel as I’ve been meaning to get back into hoyoverse stuff. I’ve been away for a very very very long time. I started with impact 3rd when they had the Yae Sakura event that later became a normal world space. The games story only went as deep as the snow inside a past memory. I later picked it up again with 3 back to back. “Captain! You have been gone for so long!” And got up to its current story point known as when the hercherser of the void crashed the dadelus. I haven’t played that since and have heard and seen so so much about it(been hesitant to watch the anime since I am so far behind in the game!) I’ve go a lot to catch up on and I’ve found your channel so despite this video will not be getting my watch time just yet, I’ll be lore binging this here soon! I look forward to learning about everything that I have missed out on!
Could this be why we have separate Samsaras? Because each time they reset, it would sacrifice the memories and personalities of everyone who exists in Teyvat, just like it would have in Natlan if that net was formed? Every time the abyss breaches that firmament, they do a hard reset to maks a new firmament
coming back to this video a month later to say im going through and finally doing my Story Quests and i just noticed that Tighnari has a Purification Device he uses in the forest that is also an eerily similar shape to the Homa. just wanted to throw that out there
About sacrifices around the time the celestial nails fell and angels became seelies, I am under impression that humans sacrificed a lot too. Which is why much of the Unified Civilization's knowledge seems to be lost, at least outside of Khaenri'ah. To the point where Zhongli had to teach people to build houses again.
this is just a little~ wish of mine, it would be amazing to have subtitle/caption like some of your old videos, because im not an english speaker, and maybe some other viewers are too its not a demand ofc, i know you are busy and etc, i love this video and i will continue to support your channel, thank you for always bring us juicy lore
Completely out of topic of this video, but did anyone do the Ochkanatlan quest "Open your heart to me"? for those who have not done it yet, spoiler warning In this quest, as we drain water, we reveal a dragon statue that names itself as "Dragonlord Ix Uxul Tz'ib Bolon Ch'ule-L", the former ruler of Chichen Uctokah. What I found interesting, is that as it speaks, above the words "destined" and "rulership" we can see words "K'uhul" and "Ajaw" respectively, and those two combined make the name "K'uhul Ajaw", which is the name of that annoying pixelated dragon of Kinich. Thus, we can translate Ajaw's name into "Destined Rulership", which I find interesting, but can't really make any conections to what this might mean But another thing that I found interesting is the objective of our meeting with the statue: it wants us to find it's heart's shards to rebuild it, and then take it so that the mind trapped in the statue will finally be free, and the heart itself is revealed to be a jade with a golden(?) pattern on it Anyway, I don't have any further thoughts, so I'm just gonna leave this here, as someone might make a theory out of this Why did I write all of this? I just find Ajaw interesting, specifically the info about his past that he tells us, but as we have no further info on him, I can only speculate on meaning of his words
I just finished Ochkanatlan quest (sitting here vibrating in UTTER SHOCK, I am NONLINEAR from ending of this quest) and the usage of homa symbol on that Raiden statue reminds me of the last sentence on “Notes Someone Left Behind (I)”
Hii. I love your videos! Just one thing tho. I got ADHD so hard that i can't focus on your words if i'm watching the video. So that got me thinking. Would it be possible to get subtitles in your videos, but like the fun kind that are in the video itself and they be on the screen to help ADHD:ers keep the focus on the text (and the theory) rather than the cool cutscenes that we've already seen in game. I understand that this would make the editing process longer and and wont be technically necessary, but help us simple of mind and short of attention span. And again, I love your videos and will continue to watch them till the end of time!
I think an interesting tie into this could answer what exactly happened to the primordial one perhaps personally in the events of moonlit bamboo forest where the palace was attacked when the declared queen of the night or the 3 moon sisters was courting the "morning sun" in the celestial palace, ad we know it was abyss related because we got confirmation via the hoyofair animation which showed rift hounds, especially now that we have confirmation of celestial horses in 5.2. Also there is the interesting relation of gaining enlightenment and illuminated beasts who were granted enlightenment through various means ONE of which was of all people Morax GRANTING enlightenment and the knowledge of how to use the worlds natural elements without a vision ( as this is cited as pre archon war). Personally i think this ties Morax as potentially a seele or perhaps if we take moonlit bamboo forest it may have literally been the day he was born and fell into teyvat at Mt. Teinheng 6000 years ago. It would also be interesting to note that he seemingly is unaffected by abyssal corruption as he dove into the abyss and his arms are STAINED with abyssal blood which is why parts of his body up to his shoulders are black. Azdhaha also makes an interesting note that he doubts even erosion would affect morax for thousands of years making him potentially the the perspective biggest fuck you to the "order" thus far
Okaaaay now that you said all this I gotta flex my knowledge on Persian Mythology: _Homa_ (Farsi: هما) is an actual bird. Funnily enough, Homa is a vulture, who typically eats the bones of dead animals. It feeds off of the bone marrow and leaves the flesh alone, and is therefore praised by one of the most popular Persian poets for this action. The exact phrase is "Homa is the best of birds, for it eats bones and harms none." Despite being a vulture (or perhaps because of it, on account of not being a predator) Homa is a praised bird in Persian Mythology. In fact, it's considered to be a celestial bird, forever flying and never landing on earth, and sometimes even mentioned to be capable of bursting into flames like a phoenix and rebirthing. But what's most notable about the Homa (aside from its bone-eating habit) is that the Homa is a bird of blessing. It's said that capturing a Homa is nigh impossible, for the bird flies too high. But if the shadow of a Homa passing overhead falls on anyone, they'll be endlessly blessed for all life. It's also said that the Homa is a sign of kinghood, and grants it to those worthy of it. But while this is all very interesting, the Homa bird isn't the main character in my explanation. It's the _Simurgh_ (Farsi: سیمرغ), known to be the king of all birds. The Simurgh is an endlessly wise bird, inherently benevolent, and ancient enough to have witnessed the destruction of the world at least three time. Every thousand and some years, she flies into flames and is born anew. And if one is granted the feather of a Simurgh and sets it to flame, the bird will appear and offer guidance. The Simurgh serves as the connection between heaven and earth, and - get this - the Simurgh lives on the _Hōm._ Also pronounced 'Haoma'. Now Homa and Hōm are essentially very similar, because Hōm also appears as a bird as well as a holy, all-healing, never-withering plant, the Tree of Life in some cases. The Simurgh and Hōm have an intertwined relationship. Now, on the topic of offering sacrifices to attain power and preserve something, there are multiple themes concerning both these birds to be found: Mainly, the Simurgh burns itself to be born anew, the Homa is a bird of blessing who feeds off of dead animals. This paints a vivid picture of the type of sacrifices we see in Genshin: On one hand we have likes of Makoto who sacrificed herself to preserve many, and on the other we have the sacrifice of many to preserve 'one'- a unified something, be it people, nations or ideals.
17:14 While you were speaking, i also noticed that Wolfy in the background said that “she is also a friend of madame mage, and i hear she likes to speak in peoples’ heads”, which leads me to believe that that one seelie that he talks about in his dialogue is the person who speaks in our head at the end of the scara redemption aq interlude
What I'm hearing is, you think the fate/loop system in Teyvat is essentially a machine operated by Irminsul to 'recycle' the memories of the people of Teyvat each time it starts over as fuel to keep the firmament intact and stop the Abyss.
Yes, lovely day to you too!!!! I loooooooove³ your videos! Thank you so much for the hard work ^^ Your voice is so cheerful, energetic.. Yoimiya of YT ^^ Friendship vibes from Belgium
I cannot express how intensely my mind has been blown from the ACTUAL theory of this video, you probably just predicted the finale emotional lore NUKE of the Khaenrian cataclysm, Ashikai have mercyyyyy
20:17 sooo celestia hands out visions to people with strong wills/ambitions to make sky rocks which help bolster the big daddy sky net. And then builds up constellations through repetition to strengthen it. If the idea that a single descender could make a whole net then Celestia would be using the same concept, but with a bunch of less powerful individuals to equal one descender. Which may not be going so well atm.
also speaking of inazuma can someone please explain how scaramouche's whole thing worked if inazuma is now completely independized from irminsul control
I do wonder why nabu and the lord of the night escaped this whole fate initially, it doesn't sound likely they just hid but it also doesn't sound likely only they were spared for whatever reason
If I remember well, Nabu Malikata was quite hazy during the time she roamed the land. When reading the artifact lore, i thought she may have lost a part of herself but not all, hence why she recovered afterward. Following ashikai's theory, maybe she didn't need to sacrifice all of herself, maybe her weakened form is still more complete than most seelies because she was more powerful originally, or like N, maybe she sacrificed something else entirely. If we interprete the Seelies' fall more pragmatically, maybe she just avoided her retribution to some extent, maybe by luck, maybe thanks to someone. As things are now, I doubt we have enough info to safely tilt toward this or that oher option.
I know people hate comparisons, but there is a lot to be gleaned from them imo. The cubes looking so much like the sea of Quanta from HI3 has to be a thing. I am low key thinking the ‘sustainer’ is an AI left to watch over Teyvat as a bubble universe
Thinking about your comment for Tsaritsa... If she's a Cocolia expy (which I think she is, contrary to popular belief that she's Bronya), then she would match with her other stories where she tried to sacrifice *this* world to bring about the *new* world. I don't remember how it was in Honkai 3rd, but in Star Rail she was tricked! Perhaps Tsaritsa is being tricked again by one of the sinners, and when she finds out the truth, she will help our MC instead. Just my theory 😊
La Signora was the Cocolia expy, Tsaritsa was shown to be Bronya in the files near the start of the game. In HI3 she wasn't really tricked but her actions while bad had similar reasoning to HSR's counterpart. I think whatever she is intending is an extreme kinda like how Capitano wanted to sacrifice the peoples memories to save Natlan rather than waiting for the perfect plan. Both are probably pragmatic rather than idealistic.
@@Infelious i think her plan is basically just doing Capitanos plan but using all 7 gnosis to make a barrier that's 7 times as strong. Capitano was getting desperate so willing to just burn one for it. It would also explain how he knows that's doable, because as he is the First Harbinger, the Tsaritsa may have entrusted him with this info. This is even more likely if there's any chance the Tsaritsa is also Khaenrian, as she may know Capitano from *BEFORE* the cataclysm. Also I noticed in Wolfys speech there's mention of a seelie who broke the scale and I was reminded of a time a while back where people were theorising one of the other Harbingers was a former Seelie, especially given there's mention of how they broke the scale, and Ashiki mentioned how she was made mute but kept her form, which may be exactly her circumstances who knows, just a cool thing I noticed as I watched.
Regarding the Wolfy thing... I feel smart now. I speculated about the same (that the Seelies fucked up and they're quite possibly the first hilichurls on Teyvat while some of them turned into the wisp-like things that we encountered today), but my speculation just ends there. When I saw the Moonlight Bamboo Forest from Hoyofair, it just affirmed to me more that... yeah. Some of them did turn into hilichurls. Which makes me all the more curious about the story of the Boar Princess cuz if the Boar Tribe is the Seelie Civilization, then who or what is the Wolf in the story? Cuz Woobakwa might just be the Abyss. And so the Boar Princess is inticed to befriend the Wolf who has eaten Wookabwa before coming home with the Wolf in tow. AKA one of the Moon Sisters might've bought about the disaster mentioned by being inticed by the Abyss. In the Boar Princess, it also was mentioned that the Boar Tribe was in Mondstadt. So there's a high probability that the remains of the... well, "Capital" of the Seelie Civilization might just be the ruins beneath Mondstadt, hence why the translation for the nation itself is "Moon City".
Dude, in the new area… We LITTERALLY perform multiple homa rituals in sacred flame altars to control ancient dragon tech. How the heck do you predict this stuff?
I also made a theory about Homa and the Statue on reddit and I can't believe the singular wikipedia page I read on the Homa ritual was foreshadowing Natlan's story and sacred flame
20:43 Perhaps the Primordial one made it partly from the remains of the Third Descender? We know they used parts of the Third Descender to make the gnosis, perhaps the rest of the Third Descender was used as the net.
I really didn't know where you were going with all of this and almost was ready to make fun of it but that last thing about the sustainer of heavenly principles using the same soul red cubes than the one to "patch up" the sky got me I can't lie
the theory that the sibling is fighting all this time and keeping us in the dark because she/he doesn't want us to sacrifice ourself or even think about it... would be a big plot twist, and opens the door to many possibilities, deislef could be encouraging us to do so, or so many other possibilities
What if when Tsaritsa said that "Burn the old world" It is sort of the memories/ leylines? While in doing so needed some type of net to protect the physical bodies from the abyss. Because if no memories=no abyss Ah... I'm just rambling my thoughts lol

This like how people felt when Einstein and Newton were around
Continuing your theory, seems like Paimon sacrificed herself too.
So traveler was asleep for ~500yrs after the offering, they lost their memories and Paimon's fragmented recollection can only be described as "sucked in some sort of whirlpool". That weird rock we came across in the Fortress of Meropide triggered something that is suppressed in Paimon.
I always think about Venti remembering Traveler, but a lot of people seem to forget or skip over it

Heavenly Principles: Tries to save Teyvat, *Capitano* style ("sacrifice the memories! Survival 1st!");
*Shades:* Tries to save Teyvat, Mavuika style ("save the memories! Simply 'surviving' isn't living!").
And I think Tsaritsa seeks to do it Mavuika style too: by trying to incinerate the whole of Abyss, so that Teyvat would finally be safe from its threat.
That is what the Heavenly Principles have done in the past
The Celestial Nails repel the abyss but, they turned a kingdom into Dragonspine and other places

I'm genuinely gonna cry my heart out if we have to sacrifice Paimon or she willingly gives her life so we can stop the abyss or something.
speaking of "all devouring" we do have an example of a person supporting a bubble world in the hoyoverse mythology.
Looking at the other games, perhaps in some aspect the traveler is like durandel, the absorber/anchor of a bubble world, teyvat. Just in terms of word and idea association.
I heard it’s because traveler consumes abyssal energy but like idk

1:34 "little lore spores" 😭😭😭
I felt like an aranara
What matters is, in the end, thirty of these birds arrive to where Simurgh must be, only to find a lake, upon which they see their own reflection (LMAO "THE SIMURGH WAS THE FRIENDS WE MADE ALONG THE WAY" I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING THAT'S THE CONCLUSION) and realize that _they_ were the Simurgh all along:
_“If Simorgh unveils its face to you, you will find_
_that all the birds, be they thirty or forty or more,_
_are but the shadows cast by that unveiling._
_What shadow is ever separated from its maker?_
_Do you see?_
_The shadow and its maker are one and the same,_
_so get over surfaces and delve into mysteries.”_
(The whole poem is practically a pun played on the word "Simurgh" which can be divided into meaning 'thirty birds' lol Attar is hilarious)
But what I'm trying to point out here is that for these thirty birds to arrive, literally hundreds and thousands die throughout the quests.
The part about the Hilichurls mask and the Homa symbol is just fooooul holy shit, somehow their lore get more tragic as time goes on lmao
Also interesting bit about Inazuma, would reframe a LOT of Ei's actions which I would find super cool actually
I really like this theory, I think this could easily be confirmed in some direct way in the future - also openign a new gateway to see things in
super cool stuff!
This also reminds me of the Lavawalker and Bennett being found in the Mare Jivari as a baby
LMAO, the story of this boy is literally Ororon's story (just change being albino to having a fractured soul).Doesn't it mean that Citlali is Simorgh?
@@stranget6033 Wait… omggg and she’s from the simorgh/homa ish clan… why didn’t I think of it? Him being considered cursed or weird or being an outsider makes total sense. But again, we also told the same story with Shenhe.
Chasca has been raised by red, bird-shaped saurians, and ends up being instrumental in saving Natlan in recent events
Ororon has been likewise left in the wild to fend for himself and helped save Natlan.
Both Bennett and Razor have been abandoned as babies and raised by others, both have white hair and fair skin.
Kaeya and Peruere have been left as children in the care of strangers, Kaeya explicitly so that he may save Kanreiah (or what's left of it)
Also there's a bunch of NPC boys being cared for, raised or protected by illuminated beasts, god-birds and other, powerful creatures.
**The proper performance of the yasna ceremony is believed to prevent the cosmos from falling into chaos.**"
I found that sentence very interesting considering the sacred flame of Natlan was dying out which led to the entire abyss monster breakout chaos. So many interconnections, the more you dig, the more you find!
great comment
i shall add another variable in the symbol equation of the homa. the staff of homa looks like a fountain pen. which corelates with writing which leads to the hexenzirkel making written stories into reality.
„Where are those who share the memories“ takes on a whole different meaning 😂
So... remember this passage from Anecdota Septentrionalis?
"After those events, we continued sailing onward for another 300 days on a vast, featureless ocean. Finally, we arrived at a tall wall in the middle of the sea, stretching out of sight, high up into the sky. Countless densely packed human figures were suspended from the wall, and though they had neither bodies nor muscles, their forms could clearly be seen. All on this earth who speak lies, or pen falsehoods in their writings, will be hung from this wall to receive judgment after their death. As for who built this wall, or what lies beyond it, I do not know, for everything in this travelogue is completely true, and thus we had no way to get close to the wall."
Something something firmament, something something cubes with consciousnesses in them
I am sorry what?!!?!??! Where you get this from?
@@sebay4654 reminds me of the manga and how celestial actually looked like a prison….
Ofc you can think up a reason for everything even if nothing is explained.

Could this be why we have separate Samsaras? Because each time they reset, it would sacrifice the memories and personalities of everyone who exists in Teyvat, just like it would have in Natlan if that net was formed? Every time the abyss breaches that firmament, they do a hard reset to maks a new firmament

That Homa symbol is reminding me from an incident from the patch 1.3. Y'know, the staff of Homeless
A $3k sacrifice to give way to the Epitomized Path, and the further downward spiral towards becoming an outrage merchant.
I've been calling it the welkin symbol. Since the first time we saw it was in Inzauma, and the statue looked similar to the welkin moon girl.😅
Completely out of topic of this video, but did anyone do the Ochkanatlan quest "Open your heart to me"? for those who have not done it yet, spoiler warning
In this quest, as we drain water, we reveal a dragon statue that names itself as "Dragonlord Ix Uxul Tz'ib Bolon Ch'ule-L", the former ruler of Chichen Uctokah. What I found interesting, is that as it speaks, above the words "destined" and "rulership" we can see words "K'uhul" and "Ajaw" respectively, and those two combined make the name "K'uhul Ajaw", which is the name of that annoying pixelated dragon of Kinich. Thus, we can translate Ajaw's name into "Destined Rulership", which I find interesting, but can't really make any conections to what this might mean
But another thing that I found interesting is the objective of our meeting with the statue: it wants us to find it's heart's shards to rebuild it, and then take it so that the mind trapped in the statue will finally be free, and the heart itself is revealed to be a jade with a golden(?) pattern on it
Anyway, I don't have any further thoughts, so I'm just gonna leave this here, as someone might make a theory out of this
Why did I write all of this?
The shrine at the top of chenyue vale is another instance of this symbol.
Hoyo probably : Dude this pattern looks sick.. lets put it everywhere in the game
Okaaaay now that you said all this I gotta flex my knowledge on Persian Mythology:
_Homa_ (Farsi: هما) is an actual bird. Funnily enough, Homa is a vulture, who typically eats the bones of dead animals. It feeds off of the bone marrow and leaves the flesh alone, and is therefore praised by one of the most popular Persian poets for this action. The exact phrase is "Homa is the best of birds, for it eats bones and harms none."
Despite being a vulture (or perhaps because of it, on account of not being a predator) Homa is a praised bird in Persian Mythology.
Meanwhile designers: Winged shape likey likey
Fr, my mind is blown to pieces right nkw😭😭😭
Always made my day a little spark of mind tingling information ashikai ❤
I woke up to a new Ashikai vid. Today is gonna be a good day
20:17 sooo celestia hands out visions to people with strong wills/ambitions to make sky rocks which help bolster the big daddy sky net. And then builds up constellations through repetition to strengthen it. If the idea that a single descender could make a whole net then Celestia would be using the same concept, but with a bunch of less powerful individuals to equal one descender. Which may not be going so well atm.
Dammit now I'm gonna start seeing Homa symbols everywhere. Great video as usual.
Everything goes over my head, but she sounds so sweet i gotta listen to her i guess...
That's why it's called a Vision, we are offering our ambition to the gods. Like the Japanese translation it's called Eye of God.
You know, it’s what Nahida said about vision
also speaking of inazuma can someone please explain how scaramouche's whole thing worked if inazuma is now completely independized from irminsul control
also known as the Halo energy sword symbol lol
Just the starting symbol aligning up with the background almost perfectly, I believe everything you say 😭😭
"Wait. Its all Homa?"
Ashikai: "Always has been"
Regarding the Wolfy thing...
This video is soooo good... Following You now
Dude, in the new area…
We LITTERALLY perform multiple homa rituals in sacred flame altars to control ancient dragon tech.
How the heck do you predict this stuff?
The one hoyo designer who just thought that pattern looks cool must be laughing his butt off
I also made a theory about Homa and the Statue on reddit and I can't believe the singular wikipedia page I read on the Homa ritual was foreshadowing Natlan's story and sacred flame
18:39 also the circle around the figure can be a halo
running around in the new areas after watching this is wild bc how is homa EVERYWHEREEEE omg
Thank you for this. Love going back to Sumeru and Inazuma lore❤
Oh being reminded of the pari quests. I loved doing those. Left a big impression
22:42 For a second I thought you'd say Deshret 😂
What if when Tsaritsa said that "Burn the old world" It is sort of the memories/ leylines? While in doing so needed some type of net to protect the physical bodies from the abyss.
Because if no memories=no abyss
Ah... I'm just rambling my thoughts lol
