I remember living down the street from bizarre guitar. Right next door to bizarre gun shop. Both have basements with bizarre guitar has a legendary collection in the vault in theirs. Love that shop
Literally just found and bought one of these from that shop while randomly searching on reverb. Have wanted an all Goldtop for such a long time and these just happened to pop up on the search . Got it brand new for under the already discounted price due to some tarnish on the bridge. Which is not something that bothers me at all! Really cool its such a small batch of them too. Super excited to get it! Had no idea Trogly even made a video on it until now too 😅. When watching the video I just noticed it has the pointers on the knobs as well. Which is another feature a regular standard doesn’t have
I just replaced the pickups and wiring harness in my favorite SG a few weeks ago here and I went with an underwound 57' @ the bridge and a straight up 57' @ the neck position. I also decided to go with the uncovered 57' @ the bridge as well just for a little extra although I'm on the fence about that if it really makes a difference noticeable in tone hah! Regardless though, the guitar sounds fantastic. I had a set of Saturday Night Special SD pickups in it prior, not that I thought they were bad. I picked this husk up from Stratosphere a few years ago around 2020. I own three SG's currently but this one is the one I reach for the most, all three are really nice and I'm not knocking the others. I love Gibson guitars and I own a couple of Fender's as well too and certainly wouldn't knock those either, all preference and what you get used to I guess. Dig your channel Austin, I watch it each morning with my coffee 👍
Hey Austin, I think the finish on the back looks like what Gibson now calls "TV Gold", as its showing a lot of wood grain just like TV yellow. You can find great Custom Shop SGs in that finish.
Visually - DO NOT GET RID OF THIS GUITAR!!! The clean settings on here sound like a dream come true. If I was just listening (and not watching) I would have never guessed "Les Paul" from the sound.
Excellent detailed review, I love this channel. A question : The tone of this Gibson Bizarre guitar is exactly the same as the current Gibson Standards 50's? I see the one from the Standards 50's as more coppery and the one from the Bizarre as more of a gold or brass tone. I really liked this Gibson Bizarre guitar. Good day!!!
I love Bizarre Guitar. I’ve purchased a few Gibsons from there and have had the pleasure of Greg giving me a vault tour. He even let me play one of his 59 Bursts. That place is legit and Greg is a legend.
@@amaj7313 do you mean they never made a 1959 style anneversery model or like what was iluding to they dindnt market cash grab "aneversy" modles every year like they do now yet in 1959 ?
Picked one of these beauties up a bit lighter @ 9.25lbs. Dig the full gold paint with grain showing on the back. Not too much Gold like the 2016 Fort Knox.
Made me want one! Good job! BTW, I always like to put an underwound pickup in the neck! Can get you amazing bell like tones through an amp or chain with reverb.
Wow very pretty all gold 50th Bizarre Les Paul (50 years from the TV show too, where's Super Dave). Reminds me that I wish they'd do a gloss finish on the pretty metallic Les Paul Modern Lites, protect their finishes a bit.
A store could possibly enquire about having Custom Shop 57 Customs finished in all gold with nickel hardware. Maybe even in triple humbucker form. That would be a way to get the mahogany top
I have a question, I see the Allen key on the bridge. How does that work? I saw a Gretsch has a similar mechanism but I don’t know what’s the functionality
To my ears I believe I can hear the thinness of the Titanium Bridge Saddles. Compared to traditional Nickel Plated Brass the Titanium works really great when playing the neck pickup, but maybe a bit thin on the bridge pickup. Still a great combination of the overwound bridge and the underwound neck.
This one is beautiful. Did Gibson raise their prices again? I’m seeing both the Les Paul Standards at $2999 but some are $2799 in same model, also the J-45 is now $2999? The Slash acoustic is $3500? I just didn’t realize their prices continually raise like this. I get it, the economy is terrible. But I wonder if they’re justifying these price increases with the high end Epiphones and then other cheaper Gibson’s like the fadeds.
I’m no expert by any means but I most Gold Tops only have “Gold Tops” the back and neck will be some shade of natural to red dye depending. You’d think as awesome as the all gold ones look they would keep it available, but besides special order or mod shop they usually only have gold tops
@@brandonjackson5865 Cool thanks, I was looking at a way cheaper gold top before but something felt off when I noticed it was completely covered in gold. Not in a bad way but it just felt like it didn't look like the ones I thought I've seen before. Thanks for clarifying!
Actually, now that I’ve watched the whole video. I actually love this guitar. It’s got tones that I’m looking for. Might have to do something about that.

Say what you will I really like that I would buy that if I were in the market for another list Paul I think it’s really cool. I like how the woodgrain sinks in on the back.❤❤
All in all, I am so fond of quality wood and the appearance of the grain, I don’t see myself buying one of these guitars. There are too many features about this guitar that are not what I like in a Les Paul. It is a pretty guitar though.
With such long leads, it makes me wonder... what would it sound like if you had one of the pickups in another guitar? And tried to something on each of the guitars?
It shouldn't, because it doesn't interfere with playing at all, but that ridge between the fretboard binding and the neck really annoys me. Seems like most new production Gibsons have it. Those pickups sound effin' great though.
SHOULD BE EASIER TO CUT A MAHOGANY TOP VERSUS HARDER MAPLE.....SHOULD BE ZERO PROBLEM MAKING A SMALL RUN OF A DIFFERENT TOP ( OR ANY OTHER WOOD SPEC. )!!!
Cool-cool , I need to get me a wealthy sugar-momma so I can go crazy with buying guitars ! That Goldy looks so clean and premo ! the grounding wire looks like a clothes line , them pickups sound schweet ! Thanks Trogly !

I bought a couple guitars years ago from them on reverb. Great guitars great prices
One of the best sounding LP's I've ever heard in your videos. That's a keeper. I'd buy it if I wasn't broke!

I like Trog's alternative guitar reviews. I like hearing about the MOD collection. I like hearing about the deals on Reverb 😊
I don't normally love goldtops or even Les Paul standards but god damn something about this one looks so good, and the pickups sound fantastic :)
Reno NV should have used a casino style poker chip

I dig it. Never thought id like a gold back.... but here I am liking it haha
Now I wish I would have waited to buy my Gold Top. Oh well. Mine at least has a nice natural back with some fair wood grain.
I have an SG Standard '61 in Silver Mist, which has the same sink. Definitely a cool finish!

It's to raise and lower the bridge without having to use the thumb wheels. It makes adjusting the string height easier.
Is it the same Bizarre Guitar Phoenix area,..?

Not usually a fan of gold tops but I gotta say I rather like that, killing tone.
That solid gold is perfect. I have two gold top Gibson Les Paul’s, no solid golds though. Envy!
Great tones on that guitar!

Back in the mid-90s a local shop had an all-gold LP Standard. I'm assuming it was made in that era. Definitely wasn't vintage.
The 90's Les Paul Classic Goldtops were all gold (the ones with the 1960 pickguards).
Oh I really like the all gold Les Paul. That’s a nice custom shop Les Paul
Yeah I noticed the routs were really smooth.
I’m not fond of the binding bumping up at all.

They weigh up the options.
@@ChrisShortyAllen Well it's not a decision that should be taken lightly.
I have an all gold 92 classic. I talk to Gibson back then . They said the other year. (As in one.) Was 1957.
How many of those Gibson multi tools do you think you have, lol? Do you keep em' in the cases or somewhere else? I have been curious about that.

titanium saddles thats cool!
I saw these and thought they looked cool at a decent price. I am so tempted - I think they have them on sale too 😨 😂
There were all gold 1982 30th Anniverseries produced but no clue how many.
