      Why not *"Alireza Friouzja wins with 48% berserk"* for the title of this video?
      Instead, it's "Magnus Carlsen goes 36% berserk" (and wins second place)
      I love Magnus, but gotta respect the kid too. Alireza has been dominating Titled Arena for a while now.

    Hey Jerry! I have a request :) Can you do more classical games on Lichess where you analyze what is happening? I think those videos are great because you are able to explain your thought process in a way that helps me improve my own game. It's better than anything else on youtube. Other narrations either go over my head or are not explained helpfully. I also think it would be awesome if you would do them in a series by opening. For example a few games with Sicilian, then French Defense etc.

    1:25:00 I don't understand why white didn't take the black queen with the bishop...?

    • @bluejcube94
      @bluejcube94 4 года назад

      bishop takes Q is the best move. Bxb6 then black plays Rc1+, white plays Kd2, black plays Rxh1, white plays Qb5+, black plays Kf7, and lastly white plays Bb7 defending the pawn on e5. Likely, he didnt see Bishop x Q on b6. basically you are playing without a knight and rook for about 10+ or so moves (the knight on b2 gets pinned to the rook). but black bishop is staring at nothing and 1 of blacks rooks is in the corner h1. so basically white is attacking with bishop and Q and black is defending with a bad bishop, knight, and rook. Computer says white is +7.5. He probably was afraid of Qxb6 and then rook moves is discovered check. So he took the rook with knight, and now there is no funny business. but immediately after he plays Nxc3 Jerry says "he missed that he had queen there" and he clicked on b6 where the queen was. This implies that carlson missed there was a queen he couldve taken with the bishop.

  • @andrewries9529
    @andrewries9529 4 года назад +1

    Hey Jerry, I think Magnus had another idea at 2:32:50 when he slid his rook to f1 besides trying to get the kingside pawns rolling. If he got his king over to h1 and the position stayed similar, then there was a very neat tactic other than just trying to push kingside pawns. Although black would probably not fall for it, they might because it would involve Magnus giving up the exchange for the third time in the game. For example, after Rf1, if a4, Kh1, and axb3? (Perhaps hoping to play Ba6 after Bishop recaptures on b3 in order to put pressure on c4 square as well as attack rook) However, white wouldn’t respond with Bxb3, but instead with Rxf6! If black doesn’t recapture, the white just wins back the bishop. If black does recapture with either the pawn or the rook, white will play his queen to g7 with check. Obviously black can’t block check with f file rook and Ke8 drops the queen. If Kd8, then white can play Bb6! Black can’t recapture since it wouldn’t be with check, hence the Kh1 move earlier, and white would respond to Qxb6 with Qd7#. So Magnus would’ve at least won back queen for rook in the end. Although it was a long shot, it is a blitz game and if black got too distracted by the queen side and their own plan, it might’ve worked.

    I love watching Magnus play. There is no one as creative and accurate as him.

      @@satarkhan3692 Alireza is great and a beast in speed chess, but he is not at the Magnus level yet. Give it a couple years and we will finally have a worthy contender.

      @@TTArt I did not say he is as good as Carlsun yet, but in terms of creativity, making unusual moves and specially sacrificing pieces I've never seen anyone like him even though Magnus is the master in all of those too

    Isn't rxb winning a piece at 1:41:08? Since queen's undefended?

      Mmmhh looks like if you grab the bishop, Qb8+ destroy you, if you block with the rock you get mated and if you move your king you push the a pawn and the b pawn its pinned due to the unprotected queen

      Ooor you just make a inbetweener check and thats it (tbh i have no idea how to write that)

      You just lose a rook. Rook captures on d5, queen to b8 with check, king moves and now you grab the rook
