I use to carry everything plus the kitchen sink and I was a short haul driver you nailed it Adam tools First aid kit food water hot tea & soup & coffee extra hats gloves socks work boots an extra coat change of clothes in case I got too wet extra flash lights extra fluids for the truck an old shower curtain in case I had to get d D own and deal with the brakes high end eye goggles extra glad hand rubbers extra valve stem caps for each tire lots of paper towel & widow cleaner I use to Rainex all glass & mirrors & lights and with a fuel filter & wrench & bottle of power service 911 a lot of these drivers are from warmer climates & just don’t know what hard winters really are this stuff you don’t learn overnight I learned a lot from my Dad just listening & onserving him growing up and riding with him when I was a kid before I ever got into trucking we could go on here forever covering all our bases & possible scenarios Thank You Adam for the safety meeting
Thanks Adam. Very thorough video. I just put a container of kitty litter and ice melt in the trucks for traction in the snow/ice. Got a propane torch for each truck, too. Already have a 3lb sledge in the trucks. We have had some issues with frozen brakes. I have been negligent on the air dryer cartridge and draining tanks. I had one truck get some ice in the system and the pressure relief valve was popping off every few seconds for a bit. Ugly sound. Be safe everybody. God bless.

Perfect advice. I forgot to bring my chains that go on my boots. In that ice storm that I got stuck in Portland every step I took was dangerous. Always have a battery backup for your cellphone, too.
Heated wipers are a good idea. My boss has them on the trucks that cross Donner every night. Wired into the headlights with a relay.
Extra floor mats in the rig are a good idea. It provides a little more insulation, and just in case you get stuck, they work as a good traction device under the drive tires.

Great 😎 Video 👍 Man! I Love This Channel ! For Flatbeds, Step decks, Canestogas…. The platform decks on these trailers freeze up and black Ice even forms on them…. Some drivers have lost their lives, falling …. 💔 and those silly drivers, coming out from their Trucks wearing flip flops, shorts, and the wife beater tank tops at negative temps are asking for it….. lol 😂 just saying…. lmao 🤣 😂🤣😂

We started using PB Blaster on the fifth wheel in the super cold, regrease when it warms back up. Running Amazonian Freight dropping and hooking a lot of Trailers.
Attended - Also , when it’s negative temps throw some cardboard on the grill !! Zip ties or bungee cord how ever you end up fastening it. This is key

Some good tips even for hotshot guys. I try to limit my sever weather trips but if do head over the mountains I make sure to have extra clothes, good sleeping bag, ice melt, small shovel and food.

There is a federal law that goes into affect March 11 that says no more lease purchase and you can't lease on to a company like lanstar or mercer or any company this shit is crazy everybody has to get there own authority peace
