I don’t trust anyone to do my nails and I have always done my own. I like to take my time and be precise. Most of the salon manicures I’ve gotten when I was young left me disappointed. After following your channel for a long time now, I can say that I would absolutely trust you with my nails! Your gentle approach and attention to detail is unlike any other manicurist I’ve ever seen. You are so talented at your craft!

I agree wholeheartedly with your comments. The time it takes to let one's nails regrow from base and not be abusive is worth it. But my main problem was nibbling. I just watched several Salon manicures and my nails were even worse than those in the videos. Soon, listening to her gentle voice, I just became hopeful I could adopt all good guidance and eliminate the lifetime stress relieving nail biting. I am so hopeful others will find The Salon Life because when you can stop sometime that is just a habit driven by anxiety, wow, it really boosts your self esteem.

Thank you for sharing. I have also had to learn to do my own nails. I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and none of my fingers are straight. The last time, years ago, I tried to get a “professional” mani, she made me feel so bad about my hands, I left in tears. With Anna’s videos, I now care for my nails and they have improved so very much. Enjoy your day.

So this comment isn’t regarding the video that’s being played, but I wanted to comment on nail growth when there has been nail damage, from builder gel. You suggested cutting the damaged nail out and just living with it, but I have found a workaround which is putting on semi cured nail tips. I am doing this right now because there’s no way that I would be able to cut out all the damage nail and work like I currently do …I’m in the aesthetics industry so it’s just unacceptable to have nails that have been damaged from builder gel or whatever and not put anything on top so I’m currently growing my nails out with this method . so if anybody is reading this and you have had some nail damage. Honestly give that a try I don’t know what you (salon life) feel about this if you want to weigh in on that route of dealing with damaged nails or not but I just thought I would put it out there just in case there’s somebody out there like me who cannot go around with damaged nails on their day today because of the work that they do. ❤

I am a hairstylist, but was taught in cosmetology school to file the nail free edge one direction and not back and forth because it would cause the nail fibers/layers to fray. Maybe I was never taught to use the correct file grit. What nail file grit would you recommend to safely use on natural nails to shorten length? Thank you so much 😊

OMG Only started your weekly gentle manicures & massaging oil into my cuticles/proximal nail fold multiple times a day and keeping my hands well moisturized this past Sunday and already this morning I mindlessly rubbed my index finger across my thumb cuticle and it felt moisturized, not dry and no ragged edges to be found! And the inflammation around my nails is just about gone! I’ll always have some degree of redness though because that’s just my genetics 🤷🏻‍♀️ I know in my head why, but putting it into practice and seeing such quick results is really mind blowing 🤯
While dealing with and trying to heal my fingers from a gel allergy, I’d been stuck in this cycle of skin/cuticle picking that I thought was going to be much harder to stop. I was a nail biter for the first 18 years of my life, which even though was 30+ years ago I could feel myself going right back to that habitual behavior for months. I’m still not perfect about leaving my proximal nail fold alone, but with these kind of almost instant results it’s going to be so much easier for me stop myself from further damage and stick to treating that area of my finger much more kindly instead!
I’m so grateful for pros like you who so generously share your expertise. While I know much of what you teach because I took care of my long strong nails for almost 25 years before getting into gels and acrylics and destroying my nail health in the process because it ended in a nasty damaging allergy, I needed your tutelage to put it all into better perspective, learn about the newest, current best products for this journey and to create a manageable plan for myself.
I’m making myself a cuticle salve today (got too busy yesterday) and potting it into small tins. I’m sharing it with my daughters, my friends & theirs. I’m now going to be that annoying friend with the great nails who pushes healthy alternatives to help steer them away from the harsh chemicals/artificial nail products that they really don’t need in their lives to have healthy beautiful nails 🤣

Hi Anna. Would you mind if I asked a question. I ordered kerasal, and I noticed that a day later, after applying it at night, the skin around my nails gets flakey and dry???
I do the hot oil manicures once a week, push back the living skin around my nails 3 to 4 times a week, always use Cerve lotion after washing my hands and follow it up with the Johoba oil. I have the lotion and oil in my bathroom, kitchen, on my nightstand, and last thing at night I put the lotion on followed with the Kerasal. This has only started since I stared using the kerasal. We don't have this product in South Aftica, so I had to order in on the IHerb site as Amazon was out of stock.
Could it be because of the lactic acid in the product. Please advise. Love you tutorials ❤

Okay, honest question… why do dip nails receive so much flack online because all the clients nails dip into the same jar, but traditional nail polish doesn’t receive the same concern about bacterial spread? The same bottle brush is used for everyone.

Not given up completely but my nails don’t seem to grow out or be strong enough to be filed
