Lifan bikes are china top notch , don't let the brand fool you. They make vehicles , generators , bikes among other stuff as well as parts for Honda. This is why their engines are so reliable.

@@mega-hb4re I was on Reddit and read plenty of 25 to 35k mile testimonies on STOCK Lifan 150... Simply incredible if you ask me! You can buy a Lifan 150 motor so cheap! While its not the best, my KP mini is better than any other grom CLONE I have owned or seen.. The biggest plus being the frame and 3rd engine mount.. when being compared to something like say.. A boom vador 125 .. which I used to own.. Its almost like riding a grom.. Still cheap quality crap but with some love and care I think shell be good to me. I have never been so confident in another china bike.. I would really like to try one of the 250cc Dual Sports next.. Thanks for confirmation on that... Thats actually a rather big deal IMO for them to be reproducing an old Honda engine.. even 30 years ago hondas were still damn near bullet proof from the stories I have heard.
What are you getting for top speed in each gear after the sprocket change? Or does it only affect the final drive and top speed in 5th gear only? I am considering doing this mod too as I do want the lower gears to be taller too, would this help in that situation?
it does extend each gear. on my 140cc 4sp pit bike 1st gear was almost useless it was soo torquey and short. I went from 14t to 17t but didnt get to tune the top end ever to see the difference. 1,2, and 3 were much more manageable.
no its the revolutions of the tires. if you changed tire diameter, yes. but not gear change. that only changes how the torque is multiplied. but, some motors dont have the clearance around the front sprocket so make sure it'll fit. the lifan engine is not a run of the mill china pit bike motor.
Has any one tried to convert the carb over to fuel injection with a conversion kit? Im very interested in the bike and am doimg lots of research on it.
How would a 5’10 guy do on this model? Also can you do another video on the lifan x-pect I’m looking at buying one soon. Wanna see how many miles I can get on it

I haven’t rode the cafe but I hear it’s the same as the KPR200 with some changes to the shifting (improved). I can’t make that call but I can say the KPR200 is spectacular
I think the Front is a 14 tooth? Any bike, unless way under geared, will shrug off speed close to red line up hills etc.. While it would be taller I think a plus one on the front tooth would be better. Also a carb change too. Going form a stock 27mm to 30mm carb would be better for near red line performance.For other than interstate riding I am impressed by the 150 mini. I am the first one in my state of NJ. It bodes well in traffic and is an absolute blast. I have had sever cops in cars take doubletakes and watch them as I pass going the other way. The swing their heads and start diving to make a U turn then to realize it has a plate. It is hysterical to say the least.

I just got mine a few days ago I immediately had to change the clip position one notch richer it was a pain , I used a tiny washer the size of a normal needles c clip . Worked perfectly . The carb otherwise seems fine . I noticed 5th gear is quite tall and I myself am looking for a 38 tooth instead of the 36 it comes with , it should help with acceleration and give it the revs to hit 70mph easily instead of struggling around 65 ish
I guess I need to explain a bit more before people gripe about what I'm saying ... when riding in 4th or 5th gear the bike tends to not want to rev out I haven't red lined it too gear riding yet and I've tried , the gearing seems to hold it back , it falls short of the redline at about 6 thousand rpm 5th gear pegged , I suppose going downhill my results may change but I speak for flat ground. My deduction is a few teeth in the back will give it what it needs ,any help with the 38 tooth sprocket would be appreciated
Its a good choice for the price. What was the reason for the sale of the Grom? Not that the Lifan is so cheap you can throw it away but it is a good build quality for the $$. There is a guy on youtube who has one and he only drives it every once in a while and loves it.
😫 why doesn’t the grom have a 5-speed! They sell them (they cost a fortune) but they have the same exact final drive which means it’s a no go & waste of money to me.....

did you ever try to up the jet? maybe you were goin lean at the top end vs running out of gear.

I did 72mph on my z125 without needing the extra displacement. Just rev it out 10k rpm :)

No and now that I look back on this I should have done the front sprocket rather than the rear

it can hold 60. I did it to Galveston for 100 miles from 60-65 - change the rear sprocket to 35 after an exhaust intake and jets are you are golden

Nope not yet, until after the Florida vacation. Mostly the rear sprocket. If the exhaust gave more torque the sprocket would probably perform better.
