I got one of these about a month ago and I love it! I usually only carry small items with a focus on thin edc items. Everything in my bag lays flat to keep the flat look and feel so I can wear it on my back and never feel the bulk!
You mentioned the axoflux material being different at 2:26. It actually is a different variant, I think you were referencing the axoflux used in the vertex pouch - that’s a 600D material. This small/flat pouch uses an axoflux 210D ripstop variant. I personally prefer this “look” since it’s the same axoflux type used in the super cheap and useful alpaka elements tote ;)
yes the material has gone through different variations, I just don't know if the 210D ripstop has replaced the 600D, or they will live in harmony together now just on different products
I've been using this since they released it. I really like the concept of a crossbody/tech pouch to use in a large bag and reuse as a pocket reliever. I keep the hand strap to use as a handle, then attach the shoulder strap when I transfer it into crossbody mode. I don't think the swivel clips are magnetic, though.
Hi Aaron, just out of pure interest what is your personal top favorite: 1. EDC backpack (Idc if you say Fyro its an awesome bag) 2. Travel backpack 3. Sling bag
The wrist strap for a bag of this size might not work. I have used wrist strap to secure to my wrist to have both hands free. It is also useful as a quick grab throwing onto the passenger seat of the car, on a desk at the office or sofa back at home. The long over the shoulder strap can be used to hang over a chair or from a hook. The wrist strap works better with the smaller zip pouches. I have an Alpaka Camera Go Sling which has great padded over the shoulder straps but they are inflexible so that when I place the bag down it moves and fall because the stiff straps. It gets in the way more than valuable for the padding carried over a shoulder. I would like a shoulder strap like the one with the Zip Pouch max. Alpaka make so many pouches, tech pouches, sling options it is hard to judge which fits your user needs best.
While I don’t mind this product, I prefer the extra liter capacity & organization of their Flight Sling. At 2 liters, was AWESOME on my recent trip last week. I am envious of the back zipper pocket on this 1 though.
@ fit my 📱, travel docs, Miyoo Mini Plus (handheld system), keys, headphones, mints, & a homemade 🥪 in case I got hungry on the ✈️!! Still had room to spare!! Also used on my trips to the pool to keep things out of sight. Locked it onto w/e lounge chair I was laying in.
Do you think you could review the black ember dex 30L. I’ve been thinking about getting it. It seems like a better executed aer duffel pack. Thinking about using it as a minimalist one bag travel and gym bag I could throw a basketball or something in with shoes. Just wanna know your thoughts?
This one is where my love for this stuff goes from OH, PU YKK Zips and nice material! to, $49USD ($68 CAD) for a pencil case? To each their own and I say this as someone with the Alpaka Elements and it's my daily. Maybe it's the slimness that is too pencil case for me? I don't know. Doesn't sit well with me.
They are not all the same, just as non-PU ones aren't. Peak Design's PU coated zippers are buttery smooth, as are the ones on my ULA Dragonly, while the zippers on my 18L Bullet feel rougher (an noisier) than the PD and ULA, even though they aren't coated. You just have to get the bag (generally, I mean) and see how they feel for you. Can always return it, if you don't like it.

glad to hear!
Hi! Any chance of reviewing the new Alpaka Metro Crossbody Sling? Thank you!
hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks
I’m eyeing that pouch as a car emergency edc
great call!

True. I think the last time they made something new that wasn’t 210D was the rushfaster collab that was I believe a 300D version.
Great review Aaron. It’s like they took the Evergoods Elements Drop In pouch and put straps on it. Which is actually a great idea. Thanks.
ha you're not wrong!

Good to know someone found a use for the hand strap lol

very hard to judge, so just gotta go with your gut!
I have the v1 in two different colors. Great small pouch; I’m using one on a trip currently.
Awesome to hear, safe travels!

i adore the flight sling, might be my fav sling of Alpakas

Clutch mode with strap = impromptu mace to fend off scoundrels?
scoundrels is SUCH a great word 😆
I have a very good alternative for this; timbuk2 agent crossbody! I think you should review it!
I’ll be sure to check it out, cheers!

hoping too, but not on our content calendar for the time being
Check out the London sling bag by Vagari. It looks pretty slim, when placed on your body. But I'd want your take on it
will do!

yea its def a bit more niche in that sense
Too bad it doesn’t have a key leash
😬
“It’s not a purse! It’s European”
😉
Sling for girls.!
def a bit of a purse-vibe to it
I would not buy this because I hate PU zippers with a passion
they are certainly sticky

@@houserhythm thanks for your comment. I just had bad experience with aer peeling off after 2 years
