I love when you put the camera on Zuko, he winked at you. Good start for skeleton crew, taking Star Wars in a different direction, and it isn't a bad idea.
As always, great reaction, you always have solid insights when it comes to Star Wars. I grew up on Goonies, Star Wars, and old pirate movies, so this is firing on all cylinders for me. I loved the episode, and I'm excited to see where this goes. The pirate raid at the beginning was just the right kind of shenanigans with the boarding tubes and the guys swinging across to take out the cannons. I don't think they were really even trying to hide the fact that the masked captain was Jude Law's character. Also loved them dropping hints that there's something up with the planet's isolation: the weird references to the Great Work, references to just "The Republic" and not the New Republic, the Barrier grid that blocks out the sky, and the way they made a point in the intro of showing a close-up of the single New Republic Credit, then showing the money on At-Atan clearly different. We know from the trailer the kids have some rare currency; is the kid's lunch money strait up Old Republic Credits and that's what they're using as their daily currency? The kids were great. I loved the takeoff sequence at the end. The conduit puzzle to restore power felt totally right out of Outlaws. Thought it was great that the ship was upside down. Really looking forward to watching this show. Fun start, with some intriguing lore hints thrown in.
Watched both episodes. Really enjoyed it. David Lowery did a great job of directing ep 2. Loved the world created with mix of cgi and puppets. Promising start.
I'm with you. I never understand the criticism any time Star Wars shows us a different societal structure or architectural style. Earth is incredibly diverse for one planet hosting one advanced species. Star Wars has thousands of planets with just as many sentient species, so it's going to vary vastly more diverse, yet that also means there are more likely to be planets that resemble a part of Earth. Good storytelling always has a touch of familiarity to better engage the audience, as well.
It's fun! Yeah, that bully reminded me of a young Kylo but poor acting choice, lol! Great set design and CGI. Neel reminds me of myself when I was a kid. Sweet, innocent, and trying to help and do the right thing, lol. Great analysis, Si! Can't wait to watch the rest of the show (and your reaction to it).
I was doubly skeptical of this show. Not only is Andor and The Clone Wars etc usually more my type of show but it didnt hook me as much either. That being said, i am rather intrigued thus far. At Attin (someone in the school called it that) is clearly uninformed or at least unaffected and secluded from the events of the Skywalker saga. The woman who spoke at the school said they were helping the Republic, not the NEW Republic, the kids havent been past the "barrier" and cant even instantly recognise stars. Its very dystopian and im intrugued to see what the rest of the show brings.

Long time no see
Lovely tree
Wait really I haven’t seen any hate for the suburban setting, huh
