SuperTA329, What about Doc!! In my opinion Bermuda lawns look the best. I’ve tried humachar, PGF complete and super juice. Super juice and hemachar are expensive PGF complete delivers the best results for the money. Brets yard does look good.

Doc had a really good video on what humichar can do to benifit your soil over a course of time. He did mention don't expect to see an appearance difference in the turf however the 2nd year or so your soil will improve and allow the turf require less dosages of fertilizer. Let's see over the next couple years. Did you see or recall that video? I must say he does keep it simple and has yielded beautiful results relatively quick. His little putting green grew in crazy fast. Although not the right grass type for a putting green its looking awesome. Cant wait to see Ben's this year.

Buying these bags online is very expensive. Please go to local turf stores they sell these 50 lb bags for $15. They call it soil conditioners not humic acid but ingredients are same. Most of the lawn care channels get this stuff for free and they promote them but we don’t have to spend that kind of money to get the same results. HTH
Wish i had a andersons spreader. Just dont see why they want $500 for it. Pushing 3 acres with a scotts sucks. Dont roll very good with heavys loads. Looking forward to your results. Ive but 4 bags out on my lawn and haven’t seen much results. From what i have researched on it. It takes a few years of constant apps of it to properly work its way down to the proper zone in soil were its needs to be. Now i see why farmers till theres in to the dirt.
The company doesn't price their product based on your yard size. If it's too expensive because your yard is too big then move somewhere that the yard is smaller.

Doc says we won't see the benefits of this products for years. He says to put this down for 10 years from now. We will need less fertlizer down the road as it will hold the fertilizer in better.
The cheaper and IMO the better option would be SiteOne's version of this. Lesco CarbonPro-G by Mirimichi Green. It actually has Bio-char and Humic Acid as well as more beneficial ingredients in it. Biggest benefit is the cost, 40lb bag is only about $28 bucks. I purchased 3 bags for the price of this one bag from Andersons. Love ya Doc but I love my money more.
Unfortunately for me I don't have a site one close by and I'm sure that is the same for lots of folks. Its always going to be cheaper buying heavy granular products locally as they don't need to be shipped. Thanks for watching and for the great comments!

I love these channels that try to explain and test what others have spend years testing and already making videos about. Doc has done this over and over with more than enough elaborate explanations and never has to read from his phone. He just knows his stuff. I love it even more when someone says they don't see results like Doc did when they didn't use it or give it the time that Doc did. Trying to get likes from someone else's work is sad. Yes, your lawn looks amazing but it's hard to give a proper review on a product that's supposed to improve things when it's already perfect. Put this stuff on a crap lawn not a lawn from homes and gardens first.
Doc puts this stuff down by the ton. I don't believe one or two bags will do anything. Multiple bags a season for several years before soil changes. There's no way a few lbs per thousand sq feet can amend the tons and tons of soil that compose a lawn. Would love to see the follow-up, although your soil and roots looked so good already not sure it needed it.
Might be useful to explain that HumiChar is technically not a soil amendment in itself as it has no nutritional contents. It’s purpose is to help retain moisture and nutrients in the soil rather than letting them filter through or run off. HumiChar can be applied at ANY rate you choose, as often as you like, and can potentially remain in the soil for decades.
Putting down one bag and expecting ‘results’? What is it you expect to see? It’s not a fertilizer, has no iron in it, so won’t see a green up. Andersen’s will tell you it’ll take several bags a year to see even a top layer to turn from red clay to brown
Until these products come down signifcantly in price I won't be using them, and i'm a "lawncare nut". I have the best yard in the neighborhood simply by cutting the grass 3 times a week at the correct height setting, watering, using cheap nitrogen/iron, and spot spraying weeds. I also put 4 insect/grub treatments down a year, which I buy from Lowes/HD when they are on sale. I'm sure these Andersons products are great, as well as the N-EXT line, but they are very expensive. The N-EXT line is actually cheaper than this when you break down the per app cost.

please dont copy doc .a salesman/ greens keeper. he knows alot about grass he should been doin it a while. invest in application materials wisely not all are worth the price. before my knowledge of turf ,i did just fine. mow regular leave clippings/ water just enough/treat all at right time of year- south florida ---per year 10 -10 -10= 1 x =1lb n bifen insecticide 4x imidacloprid 2x lesco 16-4-8 4x=3/4 lbn atrazine 1x done. my soil in time, is black loam next to pure sand plants dont know the difference n is n to them.

All I can say is it is amazing how his yard looks now with the new fence, little putting green , garden and his overall Bermuda lawn looks absolutely beautiful. Yeah I've got 2 bags so I'm thinking about 8 applications over the next 3 or 4 months and it could seriously change the soil composition.

I hope you do a follow up to this one year later and two years later. I'll be at my first year in June of using it on sandy soil.
