Those are 'retention ponds'. They do sell them as lakes, but they are required to make the ponds to deal with heavy rains, and stuff like that :)

Mosquitos definitely starting to be a bother with the season of rain fast approaching here in Florida. I will remember to include the coding segment next episode!
