May 17th Parade in Hammerfest, Norway, 2022

This is how Norway celebrates its day of independence: not with a military display with soldiers and tanks rolling down the streets; but with happy children and residents of all nationalities. Families, friends and co-workers get together and spend the day eating, drinking and playing games. This has been a tradition almost every year since around the year 1824 when the first parade started in Trondheim.
