There was competive insurgency. It was called DGL ( Digital Gaming League). The DGL in there top divisions had easily the best players by a massive margin. I talking real aim trainer, config writing swets (I would know I was one). I played seasons 9-11 of Insurgency source.
i know they did some firefight stuff on Sandstorm but I never liked that mode tbh and it was just 5v5. Always good to see leagues be built like that tho within the community! (Edit: found out they sadly shut down the DGL league last year :( )

We had leagues, tournaments etc. I remember playing pugs for 4 hours a day toll I became on of the best players in the world. To really get into 5v5 and succeed you needed to perfect everything in your team. Scrim multiple times a week to keep up etc.
tbh theres alot less toxicity in insurgency comp. than in every other comp shooter like cs or valorant ive played. I still play comp firefight with insurgency's comp community and ppl there are just more grown, frendly and just want to have a good time.

When people play pugs on discord, they can't be that toxic cuz word spreads around the community that you're a PoS and teams won't want to roster you, you'll see that player you mald at often in pugs and scrims, and you risk getting banned by admins or mods. Also the psyschological factor I guess of being in a more tight knit community, so you see the randoms you're playing pugs with more as people and less as human scum.
@@Junya01 we had to stick together to make anything happen at all. It was a lot of work for every single event/tournament whatever to make it happen. Had ups and downs but overall some good years. I abandoned it though there was no point anymore for me.

thanks to sandstorm I learned to play much more tactically and I learned to be very patient even in moments of mass shootings that has helped me choose the best option and get out alive I owe a lot to sandstorm it's just a beautiful and super fun game Almost 500 hours of play and I don't regret anything insurgency sandstorm i love it ❤️
The only thing you'll regret is that many other shooters will feel silly, dull and cluster spamm you with information, killfeed, hitmarkers, hitsounds... you just wish y could turn all off but then y decide to just play insurgency again 😅

idk about push being used as the competitive mode. I understand it is sandstorm's poster mode but i feel like it would've been cooler if the matches were ambush
Well, this isn't like "pro" comp. It's more like organized pick up w/ the best Push players in NA. Push is definitely the mode that best fits and captures the design of Sandstorm.
Played competitive Push for the first time in this event, gotta say, was a very refreshing experience, since it's very similar to normal Push, but people actually know what they're doing. Too bad the Farmhouse group photo didn't make it into the thumbnail tho :D
Finally so glad u got in on one of these wish I could play in another but internet at my new place is somehow even worse than it was at my old place but comp sandstorm is so enjoyable and a big difference from the usual match making dropping constant 50-70 kill games a lot of people just think all the SGC is toxic but it’s all just parta the game and is not meant to be taken literally
How was there a round where no one was commander. Usually play as Observer as so annoying when no one will play commander! You are so much better at this game than me 😂
How times changed from insurgency gym, sgc, DGl. I wish we had more backing from the devs like back then. They really gave up on the competitive scene. I remember in source they were present during comps and were happy the ranked community kept source alive now they just want to give out more content without giving the game a more mid to end game progression such as ranked gameplay and things you unlock when you hit a certain rank or level or even a certain kill. All updates are just weapons, skins and maps. They need to switch it up or more people will stop playing and as my favorite fps that would suck
Shit, I remember i was apart of starting realism leagues back on day of infamy and the devs wanted to work with us on creating a realism/competitive mode. Then one day they got silent and never bothered going through with it.
There is kinda but like this is just for fun the most you’ll get for winning is a dlc code but these tournaments are hella fun I’ve only played one but none recently bc of internet issues and my job but they are hella fun regardless of winning or losing
There still is. But its managed by the community (like the SCG events, insurgency Community league or Sandstorm PUG lounge) on seperate discords and servers (bc official comp matchmaking was shit and nwi rather shut it down that to fix it..) just join, follow the rules be nice and have fun.
Nothing worse than playing this with COD lone noobs and zero call outs. This game is easy with my military veteran squad who know where the dominant corners are and areas of responsibility exist.
Hey Gibs…. i was in a online domination match and was playing with a “team moderator” and the guy thought i was cheating because i was having one of those crazy games… either way it said the DEVELOPER of the game banned me and i made a ticked and they said i broke TOS and idea what i can do… :/

Best players in world, ehmm ok. No Synter, no Krill, no Titler, no RT, no Kaldw1n or Waddles. Shame that our discord couldn't gather to combat Iruban, there is a big difference in timezones. Our battle would be legendary if you keep in mind that we play competetive 8x8 for more than 8 months, and we play mostly against each other. Also game is kinda turning to a hot pile of garbage so online is getting worse

I’ve played a lot of times with SunWarrior and IronTaint before, they are really good players, but their toxicity is just ☢️☣️💀 (I guess you must be toxic to be good at the game lol)
Iron is the nicest guy, so if he was being toxic to you, you probably want to look in the mirror. Sun IS intense and can be harsh, but typically saves it for people being toxic to him or really bad/dumb teammates. Not that that makes it OK, but he's not just toxic for the sake of it.

Famas and vhs if you can aim and control recoil. Fire rate is always king in games with this low TTK.

It's because insurgency is a casual game. It will never make a good comp game and that isn't the player base it attracts.
