@Mike Griffith Masaki The AKM an AK-47 have interchangeable bolts?? For those wondering what the fuck an Alpha AK is, it's not a standard AK model but it is a real gun. The Spetsnaz Alpha Group uses some AK-100 series rifles customized as seen in-game. The one in-game seems to be an AK-104 (which are chambered in 7.62x39) with the Alpha setup, but as far as I can tell they're generally built off AK-105s IRL. (The AK-105 being the 5.45x39 counterpart to the 104) That being said info about these is hard to find, so if anyone has something to add then I'd love to hear it.

The Alpha AK was always chambered in 7,62x39mm. But indeed the original that was modelled with a 5,45x39mm magazine was throwing people off (myself included), especially in Hardcore where picking up magazines was more often a necessity. Also it, as all other AK's, originally had the problem of the fire selector being depicted the wrong way, so any well versed gun-nut or IRL AK user would be thrown off by seeing their character flip the selector down and then have the gun fire full auto.
Judging by my Tarkov experience it's just an ak-103/akmn with a modified dust cover, pistol grip, handguard and stock (stock replaced with a buffer tube with a stock on that), plus some new iron sights and a muzzle device
@@Petrkrehlik66 you could invest that 1 point into smoke or armor, but the reason I use the flash hider is that this loadout is designed to hold a building, so the flash hider allows your position to remain unknown, the suppressor is better but too expensive
The Alpha AK is actually a souped up version of the Mosin Nagant used by the 2nd Regiment of the Spetsnaz, known as the Pissboy Regiment for their recent activity in Ukraine, most notably a video of them losing almost 80% of their numbers to a single drone bomber being posted on Reddit and netting someone a bunch of reddit karma.
Ak owner here. The Alpha AK is just a tricked out akm pretty much. Charging handles larger, rails present to mount stuff, and theres some sort of dog leg rail on it instead of your standard leaf sight, so you can put the flip up sights on there as seen in game, but if you take it apart it still uses the same bullet, same bolt/carrier, same magazines, etc. If you go on Vickers Tactical there's a video about spetznatz guys, presumably part of the alpha division, who use a similar setup for their rifles.
Alpha AK seems to be a "standardized custom" of an AKM. A custom AKM build that has been proven efficient enough to be adopted by many and have it's own name. A bit like every single AR-15 variant or AR-15 based/inspired platform. The difference being that in western countries, all variants are commercialized with different names by different brands, and in russia, there is no such merchandizing of variants.
Nice video like usal, bit i think the audio is a little off in this. Sometimes its hard to hear your voice, just because the gameplay (mostly the gunshots) are too loud.
Basically, its an AKM with a B-30 handguard, a TWS Dog leg dust cover and a colt buffer tube attachment for AR Stocks, which holds the LMT SOPMOD stock.
So I don’t know if anyone out the real inspiration behind the alpha ak, but the alpha ak is simply different from an akm due to it having the zenitco furniture. In the AK world all that furniture on the alpha ak is one of the most exclusive sought after furniture produced on the market and is designed to modernize the ak platform.
AK alpha is based on ak105 5.45 sbr rifle. "alpha" meaning that is the alpha squad of russian SOF who use and moding it by themselves, with each operators build theire own ak 105-based ak alpha. Ak alpha is a generic therm for "heavily modified" ak: some operators use the full lenght rail, other not, some have not the "m4" style buttstock and keep the standard, some of them have dog legs.... etc all ak of alpha teams does not use zenitco rail, some of them prefer fab defense polymer furniture, especially for ak104 7.62mm ammunition
It''s starting to be quite common amongst PMCs and SF guys of the east to just buy a bunch of furniture to their AKs and trick the fuck out of them. Then again, most people haven't seen them outside of Tarkov.
I agree it's pretty much the equivalent of the sopmod m4 but for the ak. Using picatinny or keymod or mlok is pretty common and some western parts. Also adding 4-6 pounds mostly due to over build zenico parts. You do see western parts in more funded groups like magpul Also use of opscore helmets or copies and copies of western plate carriers.
It's based off an AK104 with a Zenitco parts kit and M4 stock configuration rear or conversion. Shorter 12.5 inch barrel but in 7.62x39 it's not as detrimental to its actual performance in real life versus something like 5.45 or 5.56 AKs or ARs. I actually use this regularly in Domination matches. Holographic (sometimes with x2 magnifier), Suppressor, Extended Mags, Laser Sight. It's a dream all rounder for me and the rate of fire is quite easy for me to keep down so even if I'm not using the compensator it's not a huge bother. I do wish there was a 5.45 or 5.56 variant of the Alpha in the current game, even if it's just for the Security team to use on non Domination matches
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this Alpha AK is based off a AK-104 because it feeds 7.62x39mm ammo instead of most AK-100 variants. Oddly enough, it features a standard cut receiver instead of the more common folding stock receiver cut. It features a standard AK stock tang which are fitted with I think a Palmetto State Armory buffer tube adapter. Stock - LMT SOPMOD Stock. Grip - Magpul MOE AK pistol grip in OD. Handguard - Zenitco B30 "классика" lower handguard and B31 "классика" upper handguard. Top Cover - Zenitco B33 railed top cover, oddly it doesn't connect with the B30 handguard like it should to retain zero. Muzzle Device - Bulgarian 4 piece Flash Hider. Trigger - Looks like a AKT-UL from ALG Defense, but I might be wrong. Another oddity is that a set of Troy iron sights are mounted to the rails that essentially made the original AK's iron sight useless.
The in-game model seems to be an akm, but with a ak104/105 combo front sight gasblock. It has zenitco b30 and b31 handgaurds, a buffer tube adapter for the stock, and a Texas weapon industries railed dogleg top cover. And for some reason they added flip-up sights insteas of the twi sight that goes on that rail. The name comes from alpha group, a russian FSB team that mainly deals in counter terrorism. They use alot of tricked out guns like this.
You know what would have messed up some people's head's? if you would have got the airsoft counterpart and gave facts on that instead of the real gun the comments would have been hilarious
I believe the ak alpha in insurgency sandstorm is the ak 104 with b30 b31 handguard and Texas weapon system gen 2 dog leg ak dust cover combined with Ar15 flip iron sight, MOE ak pistol grip and a MK18 stock.
It’s basically an AK just with aftermarket attachments. Its a real thing you can make and I’ve even seen photos of US special forces in Afghanistan with these but I’m not 100% sure, they might’ve been contractors
This setup is seen fielded by the TsSN FSB Alfa group, however they seem to prefer the AK-105, which is the 5.45x39mm equivalent of the 7.62x39mm AK-104.
My assumption on this gun is that it's an AK-103 with zenitco furniture. 103 was the last 7.62 version of the AK made by Papa Kalash himself iirc en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-103
Modernized ak 104/105. Alpha AK is their cool kid to our MK18. With all the cool zenitco stuff. Mags were bakalite mag not polymer. The barrels aren't the same either 104/105 have a 12 or so inch barrel vs 16.25 on the AKM. Like the m4 14.5 to the mk18 10.3
So the real life counterpart to this would be the AK104 with a Zenitco B30 and B31 handguard, B33 railed dust cover, M4 style buffer tube stock replacement with a crane stock, some sort of flip up front and rear sights, and what I believe to be the Arsenal 4 piece flash hider for 762x39. I have no idea what pistol grip that is so if anyone can tell let me know lmao. Usually the Ak Alpha is the AK105 in 545x39 (at least in pictures and video) but in this case it’s the AK104 in 762x39
The Apha AK should fire 5.45mm, and it is comparable to the mk18 in the way that it is basically a modernized/compacted version of the already existing standard issue rifles of the time, ie. Ak-74/ak-105, in the interest of using the same parts and ammunition.
If there is a console game new to Sandstorm who is reading this. USE THIS GUN. (Note I only play P V E milsim style) I played a few matches with it and my daily kill count is about 200. It takes everything I love about the AKM and makes it better. I run the following: Suppressor, Eotech with magnifier, recoil grip, and extended mag. For loadout light armor and small backpack. Also brig a gasmask no matter what. This is the only Insurgent gun I will run through smoke. Also if you want to turn into a Russian knock-off John Wick run the Makarov with suppressor, extended mag, quick draw holster, and a dot sight (if you can afford it.) This loadout may not work for everyone but it works for me. If someone else has a good loadout with the AK Alpha drop it in a reply. I am always willing to try new kits.
also known as, AK 15, a modernized ak47. i say ak 15 because of the sight post, ak 104s are just ak47 with after market rails and a slightly shorter barrel. an ak 12, is a modernized ak74, and the latest is the ak19, a more recent ak101
One look at this AK and i can tell you exactly what it is. Not sure what the base rifle is but I’m assuming it’s a 100 series. It has the Zenitco B-30 lower handguard, B-31 upper handguard but it takes a weird turn because it actually uses a Texas Weapons System dog leg rail for the top cover. Which isn’t too far off. Larry vickers made a video describing how some Russian spetsnaz actually use that same set up.
Short version of what an alfa is: GRU cant have m4 style rifles officially approved, because they are too proud to clone them like the chinese. Instead of a 300bo or 556 m4 (which is designed for professional millitary use ergonomically as opposed to ease of use for conscripts), they use zenitco furniture for 12,3,6,9 mounting, and many times an EOtech. It sounds a bit like not wanting a sister in the whore house because you dont want a dodge in the drive way, and thats kind of how it goes over there from what I understand. The AK100 program modernized the AK, and when GRU put modernized zenitco furniture on, it was called the alfa. Ukraine uses the Sig MCX. That gun FUCKS.
Honestly it's just an AKM with a dust over and handguns with pic rails, and a buffer tube and collapsible stock, more of a bunch of accessories than a full new gun. But I'm not complaining, just wishing it was the mutant 47 from tarkov.
Kinda looks like a Zastava m70 tactical with an AR buffer tube. Probably not what it’s based off of but someone could totally build something similar irl.
I love how nobody realizes this is just Beryl m762 chambered in 7.62x39mm cartridge. Edit: I realise it is not a Beryl, it is infact a upgrade kit due to the handguard and other things, but whatevs, still good vid!
No, the alpha ak is named after the alpha spetznaz group, they use zenitco and other after market companies i have a alpha ak in 7.62x39 which started off as a custom VSKA trooper edition, its just the style of the russian special forces, to make any ak a alpha ak all u need to do is slap a texas armaments or zenitco dograil and any modular handguard-upper with a heavy compensator
Alpha AK's are absolutely real guns. The russians got jealous of the interchangeability of our m4's and started adding rails/buffer tubes/ and uncommon muzzle components for their hardware at the time. Go watch a GarandThumb video
don't quote me but the gun looks like an AK 104 with aftermarket furniture the units from the FSB and other Russian SF units usually do this to there rifles
Ok I think the ALFA AK is an AK103 (just an akm but polymer) . So that's basically it, it's not much different; just has a different pistol grip, handguard, muzzlebreak, and stock.
Also the extended mag is a Bakelite mag, which is kinda funny cuz no one has made real bakelite mags in a very long time (as a national arms doctrine, im sure theres private companies who make some)
The Alpha AK is based on various heavily modified AKs used by Russian Special Forces, that’s why it originally had an AK-74 magazine. It’s really just a Franken-AK with parts from all over the world made for all sorts of different guns
Quick question: is there a reason to pick Tavor-7 over SCAR? Both fire the same round, but SCAR is significantly cheaper and it feels like it is more controllable in full auto.
It onetaps noarmor in cqb while Mk17 can't do that, has more rpm so spraydowners will go brrrrt, also feels better than most battle-rifles in cqb(smaller weapon length and rpm again)
Might be a bit late, but I came upon the video late, sue me. It's not, technically, westernized; Those are all Russian parts; namely a zentico B-30 handguard and a B-33 hinged dust cover. The pistol-grip looks like a NOT! magpul AK grip, and I forget the name of the muzzle, but I'm fairly certain it's Russian. Stock looks like a pretty generic AK buffer tube conversion with a pretty generic crane stock.
Fun Fact: American journalists say that the Alpha AK is a variant of AKM used by the Spetsnaz's "Alpha Squad". hence, the name "Alpha" AK

The gun is based on the CMMG Mutant. an AR15 that takes AK mags
no its not
also known as, AK 15, a modernized ak47. i say ak 15 because of the sight post, ak 104s are just ak47 with after market rails and a slightly shorter barrel. an ak 12, is a modernized ak74, and the latest is the ak19, a more recent ak101
That gun FUCKS.
alpha ak, kobra sight, quick aim grip and compensator. my most used build in this game
A.K.A. The Chad of AK's
Honestly it's just an AKM with a dust over and handguns with pic rails, and a buffer tube and collapsible stock, more of a bunch of accessories than a full new gun.
But I'm not complaining, just wishing it was the mutant 47 from tarkov.
I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be something like the zenico covered aks Russian special ops use but it looks more like a krebs custom ak
I use suppressor 2x red dot or kobra sight and a reload grip and whatever else u want with a light carrier
Basically the average AKM with Zenitco and FAB defense furniture. (Yes I’m a gun nut and I have a Ak with such furniture)
Its a modernized ak with zenitco furniture on it
No, the alpha ak is named after the alpha spetznaz group, they use zenitco and other after market companies i have a alpha ak in 7.62x39 which started off as a custom VSKA trooper edition, its just the style of the russian special forces, to make any ak a alpha ak all u need to do is slap a texas armaments or zenitco dograil and any modular handguard-upper with a heavy compensator
@@dumfaded That's ok?? That doesn't prove him wrong, also ewww VSKA...
the alpha ak is just a heavily modded version of the AK 103
The Alpha AK is a Krebs and Zenitco modified AK15/AK104
I forgot that it was originally modeled with Bakelite mags
Alpha AK's are absolutely real guns. The russians got jealous of the interchangeability of our m4's and started adding rails/buffer tubes/ and uncommon muzzle components for their hardware at the time. Go watch a GarandThumb video
As a tarkov player im confident its an ak-104 because of the short barrel and modernize
yeah this is a real AK-104
don't quote me but the gun looks like an AK 104 with aftermarket furniture the units from the FSB and other Russian SF units usually do this to there rifles
It’s a rigged up 104
Ok I think the ALFA AK is an AK103 (just an akm but polymer) . So that's basically it, it's not much different; just has a different pistol grip, handguard, muzzlebreak, and stock.
It's an ak-104 guys....just with zenitco parts
Literally a 7.62 ak that’s been guccied out
Can they please bring back the old Magazines then this gun looks Awesome
Alpha AK is just an AK 104 drug through the Zenitco catalogue, but im ok with that
Also the extended mag is a Bakelite mag, which is kinda funny cuz no one has made real bakelite mags in a very long time (as a national arms doctrine, im sure theres private companies who make some)
it's just the ak 20 dude.
no
isnt the alpha ak just the ak-104, which is just the ak-105 in 762x39
It's an AK-104 with some Zenitco railings
It's an ak with a suppressor low recoil low fire rate hits hard and a decent reload speed
It just looks like a Zenit Co pimped out AKM
Excuse me Sick Snipes sir, where did you leave your body?
Alpha ak looks like the russian made ak 107
The Alpha AK is based on various heavily modified AKs used by Russian Special Forces, that’s why it originally had an AK-74 magazine. It’s really just a Franken-AK with parts from all over the world made for all sorts of different guns
Zentico quad rail
I believe it’s a hybrid AR/AK.
Pretty sure this is based off the CMMG mutant assault rifle. Excellent content btw
It isn't because of the Zenitco B30-B31s handguard, which won't fit on a mutant.
Quick question: is there a reason to pick Tavor-7 over SCAR? Both fire the same round, but SCAR is significantly cheaper and it feels like it is more controllable in full auto.
Might be a lot better in close quarters cause of the shorter length
@@dukcck wait, you mean Tavor-7 right?
@@GaryHamad yeah
@@dukcck well then yes, by Gun logic, Recoil of 7.62 on Bulpups aren't comfortable by any means so it would affect Recoil Mitigation
It onetaps noarmor in cqb while Mk17 can't do that, has more rpm so spraydowners will go brrrrt, also feels better than most battle-rifles in cqb(smaller weapon length and rpm again)
it looks like an AR version of a Vityaz.
Thats ak-104 with zenit handguard and bastion upper reciver
It looks like a CMMG Mutant
Might be a bit late, but I came upon the video late, sue me. It's not, technically, westernized; Those are all Russian parts; namely a zentico B-30 handguard and a B-33 hinged dust cover. The pistol-grip looks like a NOT! magpul AK grip, and I forget the name of the muzzle, but I'm fairly certain it's Russian. Stock looks like a pretty generic AK buffer tube conversion with a pretty generic crane stock.
Zenitco
Look up the video - Larry Vickers alpha ak and you’ll see what one is
AK-12? Haven't played the game but that's what it sounds like it is.
AK-104, most likely, since some russian Alpha group spetsnaz run them like the in game alpha ak, and the ak-12 isn't chambered in 7.62x39
It's based on a Krebs AK
My biggest pet peeve with this gun is the flip up sights, despite the fact that it already has fixed iron sights
They should probably have been an optional attachment.
