Thanks, great video, especially I liked your idea about url template, I created a note called Read Later and added content - [ ] {{date}} {{title}} {{url}} and then I have a dataview query to gather all the tasks, so now I have a Read Later note in my todo list where I can gather websites I'm planning to read later. Nice!
Going from OneNote to Obsidian after feeling I needed more functionality and capabilities then I found Obsidian and I've been Obsidian-ized! Definitely my next note taking app!
thank you so much, I absolutely love this plugin and this video! it saved so much time, and you made it so clear, concise and to the point! I just straight up hoard wiki articles, I want to learn so much but I keep falling down a rabbithole of information and I need to save as much time as I can.
Awesome to hear you loved the video! I feel you on the wiki hoarding-it's like a never-ending quest for knowledge! Just keep it chill and take it one article at a time! 🙌
Very helpful and nicely presented ... as your videos usually are. I've used the Obsidian web clipper on an iPhone and iPad "as is" and I need to investigate myself. I was wondering if some of the same functionality you described here is also available on mobile. Perhaps it's a short companion video for this one? Anyway, your use case examples was particularly helpful. And thanks for participating in the Obsidian Reddit community.
Thank you for your very kind words. They mean a lot to me. As for the mobile questions: I do not have any Apple devices and use MS Edge on Android (for which I cannot install the Web Clipper extension). I could not (yet) bring myself to install FireFox just to test it. If I do, I will certainly put it into a video. Meanwhile, I collected a few more templates - I will show them in the next video which will (hopefully) go live in the next week. Again, thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and see you on Reddit 😊
For those of you having issues in Arc Browser in Windows where you can't select the template because it's hiding behind the extension popup window, just move the window a bit. This issue just started happening; it wasn't like this before.
Thank you for pointing this out - I would never have noticed. Very helpful! Edit: apparently the ARC team will fix this. See the last review here: chromewebstore.google.com/detail/obsidian-web-clipper/cnjifjpddelmedmihgijeibhnjfabmlf
Is there a template to clip an email inside a webmail ? It would be so great to create a note with a specific email full of content I want to save ! Thanks for your videos !
Thanks for the Video, I want to use Obsidian Clipper to save timestamps on a note while watching the video in youtube. I tried the template with time stamps but each time i save a timestamps it create a note with this single timestamp instead of listing it all in one single note
That's odd. Please follow the steps under "Settings" on this wiki page: wiki.sascha-kasper.com/obsidian/web-clipper/clipper-you-tube-timestamp-template/ From there, you can also copy the template code again, in case it got messed up, or just download the whole template pack for free.
Thanks for the wonderfully produced and informative video. Can you tell me how to import someone else's template as a json file into my clippings templates?
Thank you for your kind words. Here is a click-by-click guide for importing templates after downloading them (see the repository links in the video description): scribehow.com/shared/Obsidian_Web_Clipper__Import_Template__vAgz2CDzQAWncCSOy9YSbQ?referrer=documents

Not that I know of. You could check on the Obsidan Discord server. There is a channel dedicated to clipper templates: discord.gg/obsidianmd

@@leanproductivity Thank you. It seems obvious now, but it's a critical step that never seems to be explained. I'll share it with others.
Wait, is omnivore being deprecated? There sucks, but shows the power behind the idea of having your data as must plain files
Yes, and soon. If you have anything in there, you need to get it out by Nov. 30, 2024. Otherwise it is gone for good.
@@leanproductivity Oh, crap. Thanks for telling. Where did you get the notice from?
All great but it doesn’t do text to speech like omnivore did !
True. Like I said, it cannot do *everything* Omnivore did.
Obsidian has plugins that offer Text to Speech. Just search for “speech” in the community plugins.
