    Milwaukee's new 2732-21HD Gen 2 FUEL 7-1/4" blade right circular saw lives up to the claim of "faster than corded," although it does so at the expense of weight. The saw and 12Ah battery weigh in at 12 pounds together.
    The 15A corded saw I tested against is the Ridgid 32021.
    Thanks to Milwaukee for providing a review sample.

    Good review brother. My only problem with this saw is that it gets kinda heavy at the end of the day. Don’t overlook the abilities of the 6 1/2” fuel with the 9.0 battery.

    Excellent review. I appreciate how you highlighted the new features especially as I was trying to find out what was new over the 2731. I just bought a 9.0 starter kit that came with the 2731. Now that I know the difference I can return it before opening it because I want the 2732. Thanks!

    I'm a professional framer. I have both Gen 1 right and left blade saws. The 6 1/2 has good power with a 9.0 amp battery. The 7 1/4 gen 1 however bogs down often. The motors in both saws are identical and it seems to have trouble turning the bigger 7 1/4 blade. There is a noticeable power drop from the 6 1/2.
    The gen 2 7 1/2 is a totally different animal. It has huge power. It feels like you are cutting with a corded saw. The motor is twice as big as the gen 1 saw and you can really feel the difference. I'm loving it so far. It's heavier than the gen 1 but not so much that it really matters. Battery life seems to be good. All in all it's a great saw. We run these saws all day every day building houses. We rarely use corded saws anymore. We also run Makitas and DeWalts. You cant go wrong with any of them. Just pick the saw you like the best and go with it. They all get the job done in a professional environment. The all are probably more than a homeowner really needs, but if you can afford it you may as well get pro grade tools.

      Thanks for sharing your pro perspective. I agree, you really can't go wrong with Makita, Milwaukee, and DeWalt. I think it's really interesting how they each have their own solution to high power draw cordless tools - X2, High Output, and FlexVolt.

      pay attention to their authorized dealers like home depot, cpo, acme tools, international tools, ohio tools, etc. they have deals all the time on bare tools and kits. sometimes it's a free battery, 2 2ah m12, 1 6ah m12, and similar with m18 batteries. you can also find deals where you get 10 or 20% bare tool, even free tools instead if you have batteries. obviously this is geared around people that can wait and watch for a good deal to pop up, if you need a tool right at the moment you don't always have that luxury. amazon is not an authorized retailer, so possibly more difficulty in getting extended warranty issues dealt with, but will occasionally have a few deals as well. there are certain youtubers like @TOOL BOSS that post deals on power tools, he's one of the fastest updaters that i've seen.

Even though fuel motor "looks" much bigger. 26's alum. shoe doesn't chip like 27's magnesium. Check blade to shoe alignment on anysaw. 2732's are still having aligment issue's. the one your using is a left handed saw. I chose this one because being a lefty, its so easy to see the 0 line and make quick straight cuts. I can see everything without bending over or bending my neck in a weird way. Anyway, love this saw! Great video!

    • @jenserwig1707
      @jenserwig1707 5 месяцев назад

      It’s not a left handed saw , the blade right orientation is standard in European countries . It also allows the shoe plate to ride mostly on the workpiece , not the cutoff - leading to a better cut.

    It's important for people to understand the limitations and real world situations. If you do a rip cut on a thick board, and you are not using a straight edge guide, then there is no way to do a proper cut. You have to use a straight edge guide for long, precision rip cuts. This is why a table saw is always used for long rip cuts. You don't generally rip a long straight board with a hand held circular saw, unless you don't have any access to a table saw. They make wonderful straight edge guides now that clamp at each end, leaving a low profile straight edge. Or you can use another straight board as a guide (plywood sheet or particle board sheeting). Putting on the optional stamped steel "straight edge guide" onto the saw's shoe, should allow a very straight rip cut too. Using a right blade saw, you don't get sawdust blowing back into your face, it goes neatly away from your body.

I used it at work today cuz when we do any St. Louis county job, one thing they now require is all vegetation to be cleared off the sidewalks. I used it all day (8 hrs) basically edging nonstop, and I went through 3-ish 9.0 batteries. And it never lacked in the power department.

    Talking to my battery guy he said you should not use 9,5 or 4 amp batteries because the motor is hungry for power and destroy those batteries much quicker because they will overheat only use the 12amp and 6amp with 21700 batteries he said you can use them in a pinch but don't use them as the main battery, I noticed that with my friends Milwaukee chainsaw he had the 9amp battery and when we were clearing some down tree's the saw would cut off once the batteries got hot even though there was 2 bars left on we had to wait till it cooled off but with the 60v flexvolt saw with a 9amp battery we could keep cutting till it died

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  5 лет назад

      This saw does heat up the 5Ah and 9Ah batteries a lot more under heavy load, as I found in my battery test video: ruclips.net/video/kKmW_M6FNtw/видео.html. You'd probably be ok with cross cuts and the occasional rip, but really pushing it with those batteries using 18650 cells will be hard on them and potentially reduce their life. Luckily the thermal overload protection will stop then from getting significantly damaged in one session, but there will be long term detrimental impacts the more times a battery is pushed to thermal overload.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  5 лет назад

      The new High Output 12Ah batteries have larger 21700 cells that can output more current than the smaller batteries using 18650 cells, plus there's another row of cells in parallel to provide even more current output. That's why there's such a big power difference between the 12Ah and 5Ah.

    • @kimchee94112
      @kimchee94112 5 лет назад

      Something does not sound right. Power is the product of current times voltage and that is not debatable. So those two different batteries should have the same power, the difference is in the run time. So you think?
      What is going on? Discharge rate on the 21700 is higher, which means more current and that translates to more power assuming voltage remains the same. Does that mean shorter run time than a 18650 with the same Ah rating? Further, does higher discharge rate mean less recharge cycles translating to a shorter life? Or do we have a free lunch? Without knowing what type of batteries used, there is no way to tell the performance just by the Ah ratings. Batteries and chemistry is not my thing, so jump in correct me.

      All M18 batteries can be used in all M18 chargers. It will just take a lot longer to charge a 12Ah in the standard charger.

    Alright !!! Somebody testing different batteries. Home Depot has a online only sale for this saw to receive a free 5 amp battery.... I bought the $299 battery pack w the rocket Light and I am wondering if I can use the 8 amp battery with this saw....

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  4 года назад +1

      Oh yeah, the 8Ah should work great with this saw. I'd expect it to perform similarly to the 6Ah HO battery.

    why do different ah batteries provide different amounts of power? Makes no sense to me...

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  5 лет назад

      Because the number and type of internal cells are different. The new 6Ah and 12Ah batteries have 21700 cells capable of higher current output levels per cell than the 18650 cells used in the 5Ah and 9Ah batteries.
      The 9Ah and 12Ah batteries have 3 sets of 5 cells in parallel, which allows them to pull more current than a 5Ah battery, which only has 2 sets of 5 cells in parallel.
      Here's my full performance test video where I talk more about it: ruclips.net/video/kKmW_M6FNtw/видео.html

      That's why I went with the Dewalt one. I've used both and there is nothing that can compare to the dewalt when cordless other than a true corded mag77. I use the dewalt almost everyday as it is super convenient, cordless, right handed saw, tons of power, and just out right awesome. I even use it to cut hardie board siding all day long.

    Just my observation , these battery saws are great for convenience and will crosscut with the best of the corded saws, but if you have to do long rip cuts the batteries go down real quick ,imho if you have hard work to do stick with a corded 15 amp saw .

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  5 лет назад

      Do you know which saw models you've used? This one can cut for quite a while on the 12Ah battery, even with rip cuts.

      Doresoom Tool Reviews Dewalt Flexvolt with 6.0 battery, new blade ,ripping 90x45 pine .Ripping takes a lot of power , the Dewalt rips like a hot knife through butter and never stalls ,I cut eight mitres ,16 meters of rips and blew some dust with the blower and the battery was nearly done .Dewalts claim of 340 2x4 crosscuts seems about right ,with what I have experienced. The Milwaukee would be about the same I suspect on a 6.0 amp battery. The trouble with putting 9 and 12 amp batteries onboard is weight issue . Can you post an update on your experiences ?

    • @interman7715
      @interman7715 4 года назад

      Doresoom Tool Reviews You have to look at amp draw also ,suppose these saws are comparable to a 1600 watt corded saw which is what you need to make full depth long rip cuts in dense hardwood. If this Milwaukee is making 1600 watts under heavy load at 18 volts that equates to say 89 amps of draw ,on a 12ah battery that gives roughly 7 mins at that draw .Imho these high power battery saws are great for crosscuts but sadly lack in heavy work

      I -hate- having blades on the right. Which is why I love most all worm drives.. its proper for right handed cutting. Can eyeball exactly where your cut is going.
      These backwards ones are from the east coast tradition... something with roofig cutsg or something.
