    Fantastic, thank you so much! My boiler needed pressure this morning but I added too much by mistake then was convinced it would explode. Who knew it was so easy to get rid of the excess pressure. Thank you again!

      Question on pressure stuff, set mine to 1.2 the heating has come on and I hear a water trickling sound, is that normal? Then when the heating is on it’s gone up to 2 bar, is that also normal? It’s an ideal logic, thanks

    thanks for your video! I do both the refilling and leting out and it has always been fine...but today after the heating and hot water wasnt working i noticed pressure valve down but after first letting out air of all radiators and then refilling the valve just wouldnt come up at all. then all of a sudden water leaked from boiler so i figured i was over doing it...that it WAS indeed refilling and rising pressure but thevalve was just not working maybe? We tried turning on boiler again and it all works but now i am afraid it is TOO high but I just cannot see as it seems guage (red bar) has not moved. Yet clearly pressure has raised enough to leak water from saftey valve in boiler and heat working! Arrrgh. Landlord is a nightmare and would prefer to hold off til summer to insist on getting it sorted...so if i can sort it out til then...is there a way of knowing hether pressure too high other than leaking water from boiler? and is there then a way to know if youre letting too much out of radiators? or does it matter if it is too high? it has historically dropped often so i imagine there is something leaky...nothing pipe wise it seems but we have a few old taps that never seem to close completely that also need tackling so maybe those? anyway thanks in advance for any clues you could give us. best wishes

    • @dereton33

      As your boiler safety valve as blown you must have just under 3 bar. Let some pressure out by bleeding a radiator. About 2or 3 pints .

    I have a Glow worm flexicon 24CX and when we use the heating, for some reason the pressure showing in the display keeps going up and up slowly and never decreases. within a week, if we use the heating, the pressure showing in the display goes up to 2.7 bars. I then need to use one of the drain off valves in one of the radiators and drain some water in order to bring the pressure down to 1.0-1.2 bars. What is causing this? I'm monitoring this situation and when using just hot water in any of the taps, it doesn't make the pressure to go up and up like when using the heating.

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  4 года назад +1

      It will only happen with the heating. Make sure the filling loop is not connected in case it is letting by. The boiler stat also might need looking at if it is overheating, try turning it down and see if that halts the pressure rise.

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  4 года назад +1

      Yes that would be a lot to do with it, as the water in the heating circuit is being constantly heated therefore expanding due to the high temperature, pushing the gauge ever higher. Try a lower temperature. Buy your wife a thick woolly jumper ha ha.
