I love how chill and down to earth you are in your videos. Not some stuck up dude screaming into a camera on a $100,000 boat, just a humble guy who love to share is passion fishing.
Matt you are a great inspiration for everyone who watches your videos man. Not to many people know what it takes to do what you do. Keep trucking on man. Can't wait to see you in March man. Mccluskey cought a donkey today in Va.
Still amazing how natural these videos are! They are super easy to watch and always leave you feeling better. What a unique quality. By far my favorite contributor.
I love the fact that you dont stay still!! Lol like u dont fish the same areas constantly and wear the content out! I love that you fish from a jon boat and camp in the van on a regular! You are one of the most genuine youtube fisherman out there! Keep it coming brotha cuz the sky is the limit with this thing!! And please dont go buying a $50k bass boat anytime soon lmfao!!! YOU DA MAN BRAH!!!!
Glad to see ya starting your Florida fishing off well. You showed the band on the buzzbait and I agree it’s an excellent touch. Because of my physical limitations, I use tiny string snaps to change from lure to lure and it was always a big problem with spinnerbaits and buzzbaits having that snap foul things up. Years before a Googans came out with this idea. I began using twist ties you get on bread and other packages to create that same thing. Costs nothing since it comes with the food. You take enough to wrap around and wrap itself. Use a pair of pliers after using your fingers to get it started, and then tighten with the pliers. It adds the tiniest fraction to the bait, but doesn’t affect it movement through the water and allows people like me to use such baits who can’t tie and retie every lure. So if you wanna use a War Eagle or any other brand of those types of baits. Remember the twist tie and you’ll never have to worry about your line slipping down and ruining a retrieve. Best of all...it is FREE!
Nice job!! Keep up the good work Matt! Haven’t had time to fish for awhile but always look forward to your videos . I’ve noticed little ribbit on the bottom of the buzzbait helps the blade from slipping up and down for a better hook set as well for the squeaking noise too.
Always love you're content. It's to the point, not flashy, etc. You keep it real and explain what your doing while doing it. And catch some quality fish. Love the grind, keep on keeping on 👍🎣
Fished that same exact spot many times when I lived in Florida. I live in Tennessee now near Knoxville and fish Watts Bar, Chickamauga, Nickajack and Tellico a lot. I love and miss Rodman and the Ocklawaha though. Great video, takes me back a few years. Gonna try and get back someday.
Somehow, just sitting here smiling!!! Matt --- ya have a way of bringin' us the boat with ya .... and it's good! It's like we're right there... a simple one on one ---- That's Crazy! Good Stuff! Be Safe
Great video. After a few short strikes I try a different color with the same action. Usually helps , maybe just some dye on the tail, or go with something with red in the winter.
Matt, Nice description or Bass Fever - “I was focused on what I was doing” and could not change. I know that feeling Oh So Well! Everything tells me to adjust, the game plan I had when I left home and rehearsed all during the drive is pushed aside, yet I know it will work but I can not adjust I am locked in.
Nice first day, those mud fish look like they fight like the dickens. Learning to tie a snell knot helped me start hooking more steelhead because it keeps the line and the hook in line and if tied correctly it will retain 100% of line strength.
I fished Rodman for the first time ever a couple days ago because I watched these videos 3 years ago. Have to admit I was pretty nervous running down the lake. But I caught a couple on the jig.
Alex Rudd Fishing they are a blast man I catch lots of them down here in southeast Missouri. Landed lots in the 7-11lb range and biggest landed was 13.5lbs and 32in but lost some even bigger. They hit like a freight train
When you set down on a big one, it fells like a brick wall. Sometimes they trick you and you think it's a monster bass, but often they start rolling (like an alligator), and then you know you've been had.
Get use to those Mudfish fishing Central Florida. They're plentiful. I stopped throwing fancy spinner baits b/c they tear them up. Literally bend them all up. They also like to fool you into thinking you have a monster bass when flipping/pitching. Hooked one the other day and felt like a 15lb+ bass. Was a 12lb mud, but still. They will take you bait flipping too since they just bite down. They miss the hook, so when you pull back, they keep your bait.
Bro, just found your channel. I'm at a point where I almost want to ditch the rat race, live out of my truck and just explore the US. Love the content so far.
I fish flukes that way a lot and changed it up to a weighted hook and just texas rigged senco, slammed a seven pounder yesterday in a tiny pond in Keystone Heights FL
Rodman is scary. When the water is up those trees will mess you up. Man you should have came to keystone heights, it's right down the road from rodman.
I gotta say, I’m a bit jealous man! I’d love to be in FLA. fishing all day everyday myself. Have fun and keep posted the great vids! By the way, how many of those Curado DC’s you got now? I counted at least two. Love that reel!! So smooth! Tight lines!
It is standard practice for fisherman to say and do that. if you really do just one cast after saying, "last cast"..you will get the banana boat syndrome.
Honestly one of the few content creators that makes you feel like you are on the boat and not just watching a recap of someone’s fishing trip
I love how chill and down to earth you are in your videos. Not some stuck up dude screaming into a camera on a $100,000 boat, just a humble guy who love to share is passion fishing.
Thanks Mystiic! I appreciate that man.
@@SBFishing For sure, keep it up dude
Humble and entertaining. Still love that you rock the Jon boat

SB is one of those fishing RUclipsrs, that you "like" instantly even before watching, because you know the content will always be "A1!"

This is why I love his videos. You dont need a 100k boat to fish
anyone can be a freshman.

Love all your videos! Hopefully I can run into you the Quan reservoir sometime. Represent VA✌
Been waiting for this series! That first fish was a great start! Seemed like a decent day. Already ready for more!
Nice job!! Keep up the good work Matt! Haven’t had time to fish for awhile but always look forward to your videos .
I’ve noticed little ribbit on the bottom of the buzzbait helps the blade from slipping up and down for a better hook set as well for the squeaking noise too.
You have some of the best videos out. Others have loud music with loud mouth's. Thanks for the good content.
Always love you're content. It's to the point, not flashy, etc. You keep it real and explain what your doing while doing it. And catch some quality fish. Love the grind, keep on keeping on 👍🎣
Great stuff Matt! I love those bowfin. I think you are on the verge of a mega bass.
Fished that same exact spot many times when I lived in Florida. I live in Tennessee now near Knoxville and fish Watts Bar, Chickamauga, Nickajack and Tellico a lot. I love and miss Rodman and the Ocklawaha though. Great video, takes me back a few years. Gonna try and get back someday.

great job man ...watching this gets me so jacked to go fishing this weekend i cant hardly stands it
Great video. After a few short strikes I try a different color with the same action. Usually helps , maybe just some dye on the tail, or go with something with red in the winter.
Glad Florida was good to you. Keep fishing dude.
What an awesome video!!! Florida yee yee, I live in Tampa. You need some SB stickers for your channel. If you make some stickers I’ll buy one!
you should do a video fishing big swimbaits, maybe like a big golden shiner glide bait?
awesome job man and awesome video. i love to fish rodman when they lower it. Next time fish a shallow water crank bait and tell me if it helped.
Bowfin are so much fun to catch. Not much to look at but gnarly fighting machines.
I have not fished that lake in years, it's a special place.
Matt,
Nice description or Bass Fever - “I was focused on what I was doing” and could not change. I know that feeling Oh So Well! Everything tells me to adjust, the game plan I had when I left home and rehearsed all during the drive is pushed aside, yet I know it will work but I can not adjust I am locked in.
The rest of the country is fishing. Midwest here in Minnesota is frozen lakes lol. Awesome video
Nice first day, those mud fish look like they fight like the dickens. Learning to tie a snell knot helped me start hooking more steelhead because it keeps the line and the hook in line and if tied correctly it will retain 100% of line strength.
Dude I’m so glad I found your channel. Sometimes I wish I could live on the road like this haha. Looking forward to this badass series!!
Lots of bigs at Rodman! Imagine running that at 70+mph with floating trees in the channels!!! Fun times!
It’s really nice up here in Woodbridge Virginia in the 60s been fishing all day the passed few days
Went there a couple weeks ago, caught a 8 pounder! There’s big potential there dude 🤘🏽
Always non-stop Action Matt!! Nice mudfish too buddy, reminds me of our Northern Snakehead. Can't wait for spring in the Potomac 👊💪

Finally some actual fishing content!
I fished Rodman for the first time ever a couple days ago because I watched these videos 3 years ago. Have to admit I was pretty nervous running down the lake. But I caught a couple on the jig.

Dude going there Sunday!!! Best fishery in Florida for sure
I want to catch one of those mud fish. They look like a blast.
Alex Rudd Fishing they are a blast man I catch lots of them down here in southeast Missouri. Landed lots in the 7-11lb range and biggest landed was 13.5lbs and 32in but lost some even bigger. They hit like a freight train

Another great video man. When you head back north and you pass through WV hit me up and we can try to get you a musky if you want.
I love catching those bowfin
Biggest I’ve landed so far is 13.5lbs and 32in but I’ve hooked some even bigger than that. Caught many 8-10lbers also
I’m exited for the upcoming content good luck hope you hit the 150 and I’m rooting for 5 10 pounders
Sittin at home in Wisconsin, not enough ice for ice fishing, not enough money to travel. Your vids are keeping me sane, keep on keepin on!
Caught my pb on that lake! 10lbs 12 ounces amazing fishery!
Love the sound of that reel 😍😍😍
You should fish lake Maddy in Auburndale FL it's depth is 68 ft.

Love it, keep it coming.
Bro, just found your channel. I'm at a point where I almost want to ditch the rat race, live out of my truck and just explore the US. Love the content so far.
I'm going to be there tomorrow. Thanks for the video.
I fish flukes that way a lot and changed it up to a weighted hook and just texas rigged senco, slammed a seven pounder yesterday in a tiny pond in Keystone Heights FL
Was it lake Brooklyn?
Nope Geneva
LOVE THESE OLD STYLE VIDS!!
*SBFTV that wooded area sure looked like some BIG ONES were in there.*
How do you find and get into the bass tournaments? I’m in Ohio Cincinnati area.
What was your setup for that spinnerbait?
Giants bowfins I thought that second one was a giant bass too when it was fighting. You're going to catch one over 8lbs in Florida I feel it
Love that lake. Good stuff. I hit the subscribe button
Who made your Jonboat I’m looking to get one built
Matt Mahoney of American machine and tool up in Delaware
Those bowfin are aggressive in there!! I fished Rodman on the Jan. 27, what day did you fish it?
Yes bro! Those mudfish fight good sucks no one likes them. Cool to see someone coming down to my area and doing some fishing
Why can't we have hot spot like that in west Texas....awesome day man!
Awesomeness!
Any room for 1 more? I’m in Florida till Saturday then back to Canada for me
What shimano reel is that
Rodman is scary. When the water is up those trees will mess you up. Man you should have came to keystone heights, it's right down the road from rodman.
Awesome bro keep it up !
Two curado dc reels now? Lol super addicting buying dc reels
That snell should turn your hook. That should be sweet!

Exelente, gran creador de contenido.
I was gonna say try a snell knot but i see youre already on it 👍
If you’ve not heard of Trash Fish. Tactical Bassin guys showed it and it looks incredible.
Muddfish monsta!

I gotta say, I’m a bit jealous man! I’d love to be in FLA. fishing all day everyday myself. Have fun and keep posted the great vids! By the way, how many of those Curado DC’s you got now? I counted at least two. Love that reel!! So smooth! Tight lines!
Just 2. I found a deal on one for $150 and couldn’t say no
Learn to love instant coffee.
Love the channel
I knew it!!!
First bass, paused to comment. I knew it would be a good couple of catches. That war eagle is the $h*T here in FL.
Love bowfin. Have a spot that's hot. 8 to 12's
That channel is the river. The Ocklawaha river runs through the lake
Never heard someone call a bowfin a mudfish.. but they definitely do their work in the mud
You should show off the other species you catch along the way. Bowfin are badass. You already caught it, might as well show the camera
I did for the second one
You look litt brotha lmao or just tired 😉😉😉
Angler: oh dang I thought that was a huge bass...fish: what, is my name mud to you....oh I guess it is
This is my last cast then I'm going back in.=
Proceeds to cast atleast 7 more times!
I do it every time I fish 😅😅
It is standard practice for fisherman to say and do that. if you really do just one cast after saying, "last cast"..you will get the banana boat syndrome.
07:50when you set the hook and damn near land the fish lol
