To accomplish this goal, University Hospitals eliminated 450 administrative jobs and lowers costs by $250M per year by the end of 2023.
No clinical jobs were eliminated. In fact, University Hospitals is still hiring for clinical positions such as nurses and doctors.
A goal of University Hospitals is to bring 'Value to Patients and Payers.' University Hospitals wants to delivery high quality AND cost-effective care. It is a goal All Hospitals in America should have as well.

    Hi Doc,
Great content. I was wondering if you could create a video specific to community health/ federally qualified health centers and how they can be profitable still serving Medicare, Medicaid, and uninsured patients. I want know if there’s a was that these orgs can become profitable.

Was the RIF truly to collaborate with (add value to) payors? It seems like it was as much a necessity to maintain solvency. The problem is much more complex than reducing admin positions. Now if United, BCBS, Aetna, etc. reduced their admin staff by $250M each (in Ohio) to add value to patients I might be less speculative. I do appreciate your videos and don't mean to sound cynical.

Perhaps not sounding like a voice trained front man is why these videos are so effective. You just can't fake sincerity

High pitched shrieking voice robs a speaker of credibility, listenability, and authority.
