This will not only help the Sox, but downtown as well to have a team hosting 81 games a season to draw in tourists. Something Chicago doesn't have that some of the other cities don't have is a downtown stadium excluding Soldier Field. I think this will help Chicago dearly to have tourists visiting the South Loop more. It's a win win for the city and franchise get their attendance up.

You know the fans will eventually pay....$22.50 for 16 oz Beer.....$12.75 for a hot dog...and wait until you see the price for seats. Make the Stadium all private box suites...that's the only ones who will afford to pay. By then Mancado will be making 85 million a year....why do people still go to see these, tattoo, unshaven, unkempt slobs who pretend to care about the game? They only care about the $$$$$$. @@fartdonkey8290 makes no sense, a team was still sent to the border. There is also a border deal right now that can be passed if individuals get on board with it. A mayor of a city can’t fix a border this is up to the federal government and right now it’s a bill for billions of dollars to help with the issue at the border, why are we not upset with the congressmen who won’t vote on it to help with the border? Because being upset with a mayor that has nothing to do with a border issue nor does this city border a foreign country makes no sense. Direct the frustration at the people who can actually do something about it, not a mayor you have a bias against because they are a different shade than you.

That will be hard, but it doesn't need to be that exact culture. The Cubs actually took away what worked for the Sox in the late 70s with Harry Caray and local TV and made it bigger in the 80s with WGN Superstation access for viewers outside of Chicago and Wrigley the more it aged became a museum. What the Sox need to do is take advantage of the new downtown location and get tourists coming in. Maybe more like what the Red Sox built at Fenway. It will take time though either way.
