The way that your voice pulls back subtly at the end connects to the way that TD's voice often seemed distant and melancholic on this track. A happy surprise, this cover - thank you.
wicked!! i really enjoyed your acoustic version! My cousin brought me to see Thomas Dolby in 1983 at the old 9:30 Club in D.C. i was only 13. This song still rings in my head from that show. Thanks for rewinding time :)
@@porterfieldgchord totally!! Cecelli was my idol back then lol a total new waver/post punk chick. 5 years older than me. visiting from nyc. she was friends with guys from the band Bangah in Baltimore. Won tix to Thomas Dolby. Pleaded with my aunt and uncle to go to D.C. "unless you bring your cousin you cant go" so she dressed me in some extra leather tank top and ripped shirt and spiked my hair and did eyeliner on me. There was no turning back after that lol #80s
Really good! I'd never even think of attempting it on acoustic guitar but that sounded great. What did you use to record it? Just your phone???? If so, that room has a nice ambience for it.
Thank you, Mark! I believe these were actually recorded with a small Sony video camera, if I am not mistaken. I HAVE had good luck more recently with the latest iPhone with audio and video, though!
Excellent.
Been waiting a long time to hear someone do a proper acoustic version of this!
TheInflicted Ah cool! Thanks! Big fan of this song and many others by him!
I wanted to make this same comment! What a wonderful way to highlight the beauty of Dolby's songwriting.
Was wondering if anyone tried this on acoustic. Maybe one of my favorite songs ever. You did it justice.
Thank you!

This is awesome! 100% Awesome - not that Wal Mart brand knock off awesome with the merely adequate mixed in!
Thanks!
Dolby is fantastic. Too bad he’s known as a one hit wonder. Hardly. Everything he thought to release was good. Some better than others of course.
Bye bye empire bye bye. If only...
