Nate... how do causally walk down the street with that huge set of steel balls in your pants? Seriously, on the 2nd days clip where you had 2 back to back wipe outs and then made one. Only people out are towing and a couple boogieboarders and then there's you! Paddling into multi level ledges onto the reef and you're charging like it's a small day at Pipe... steel balls Nate, steel balls!

The intensity of the wave, the noise and the power aren't really well transcripted on videos and Nathan makes it look so easy. I was on the boat just outside his last barrel, it was nuts. This wave is so scary and powerful and Nat was chatting and laughing in the water with the red helmet boogie like he was walking down the street.. Mr Nathan you are a boss keep it up and smiling 🤙
Best thing about POV is hearing the stoke in the lineup, down side video does not always show how pumping the swell is. Awesome vid Nath keep ‘em coming.

I'm glad we got to see a wipeout. You weren't underwater form more than 20 seconds, which is an eternity if you're gassed, but still not what I expected from a legendary/dangerous wave like that.

The extremely steep drop that I could never imagine making, the legs up in the air as you wipe out, seeing your board appear as it's broken in half, the angel on the ski with the outstretched hand, the smiles, the insanity, the absolute fear I'm feeling sat here on my sofa. Surfed north shore (Waimea, rock piles, sunset), in Hawai’i, even Jaws, CA & Nazaré, Portugal but never Teahupo’o… remember reading about it in Surfer and how gnarly that wave was. This session made me feel I was there and made me wanna jump in the water again. Mahalo 🤙
Something that could be cool would be mixing in a few clips from out on the channel if you can find them and showing them after the pov waves just so we can get a better idea of how they look from different perspectives. This video is crazy enough without that though unreal content brother
dude when he falls on these waves the intensity of being held down that long ragdolling is insane. he is super mentally and physically strong to handle this.... so crazy
This video really makes one appreciate the water safety teams. When you slithered onto the sled with a broken board after being ragdolled in the foam really drove the point home. That and the selfy shot!
Nathan, it seems like you crawled onto several sleds throughout this session. Whereas, other videos it seems like usually there's assigned "teams". Is there a whole different ski etiquette at chopes than, say, jaws? It certainly looks like a community effort and reminds me of the whitewater community that I love. In contrast to surfing Topanga or some of the more localized and territorial spots. Keep charging bro, sending John some healing vibes too in hopes for another world title. Yew!
