Im VERY late to the Nioh 2 party and been having my brother (Who played and beat AND has better stuff than I do) help and guide me through this. I played Nioh (Beta verison when it was first introduced) and i sucked at it and never played since. Two weeks ago I downloaded Nioh and then bought Nioh 2 and basically fell in love with both. With that said, I’m still trying to learn everything. Watching your videos helps me understand the game and its features. Hopefully I can fully understand everything and be able to build better weapons as I progress through the game.
If anyone is still farming smithing texts: there are further four tips in order to increase texts drop rates. The first one is join Gamo clan in order to obtain +30 extra luck (40 if you reach elder level in the clan offering things). The second one is to organise your tea utensils in the hut to maximize luck. The third one is to use an active ability linked to the perk to increase 10% item drop rate if it kills the enemy (mercenary something). The last one that i suggest to use if you only miss a few texts from one boss consists in offering the 10 ochoko cups before starting the mission, it seems to increase the chances to obtain more rare things in the drop pool, anyway it's not confirmed anywhere by now soi based this suggestion only on my experience. There is even a sohaya set that increase a 5% the item drop rate against yokai if you have 2 pieces of them (1 with the yasakani magatama). I hope it will help someone :)
@@ahteoh8169 before you start the mission in ng+ there is a message that ask you if you want to offer 1 to 10 ochoko cups in order to increase the chance to drop rarer things (it seems to increase even the rarity of item dropped, at least for me)..they are ochoko cups not divine fragments ;)
If you’re having bad luck with rolls and losing too much umbracite, just upload a save to the cloud before you reroll, and if it goes bad, re download it and start over. Helpful video, thanks.
I been using the odichi build in NG+ and wow im loving it. My profiency for odichi went from a 8 to a 21 in 1 day. Because i was just slaying everything. And since i didn't have a firefly for yoki i put 20% melee damage vs.poision with a high poison accumulation stat on both my accessories and hit the yoki with 1 poison shrukin before the fight and it worked out really well. Good work. Keep em coming.

CB, Smithing texts drop on any difficulty correct? I’ve beaten Hayabusa about 15 times on dream of the samurai with moderate to high luck and the asshole will not drop anything.
Hey man! I have a new idea for a unique build i think you'd be interested in trying. If so try it out first and if you like it and its viable maybe consider making a guide on it. I call it the Yokai warrior build. It focuses on building amina as fast as possible to pump out lots of yokai abilities and getting yourself to able to pop off yokai shift as frequent as possible. Obviously damage on yokai abilities will be essential. Yokai shift duration might be difficult to raise with the limitation on stats but that's okay. Thanks for the guides! And keep up the hard work ;)
@@Zanbatoss hmm seems cool.. Thats just yokai abilities tho. I also would like to see yokai shift used alot more too as well as the abilities. Good thing about this build is your most likely not only limited to using mostly omnyo. Either way a unarmed damage build also seems interesting lol
The Mandalorian the problem is that Yokai shift doesn’t scale with gear very well so by end game your shift form will deal significantly less damage than you can just do normally.
was there an update that changed this? i have 217+ luck, 40.9% item drop rate, kodama, soul core, ikoturi, and tea set 80+ on luck… i’ve tried to farm the severing sword from darkness in the capital 75+ times and had no luck sadly

Does being in Way of The Strong affect rate of drops? I seem to not get much from Way of Samurai. Takes quite awhile for smithing texts to drop. Even with stacked Luck and Item Drop% and Kodama’s blessing.
Where do i get the kodama bowl? I think i sold it, without noticing. I am in the middle of the NG+ Area and still didn't find it. Is there a special way to get this? Or a specific Mission for the smithing text? And by the way, amazing content like always :)
Kodama Bowl text comes from beating all missions in NG+. You get rewarded one for completing the side mission where you find kodama. And the Soul Core come from dropping soul cores for Sudodamas.
So I always assumed Luck affected getting the rare items (I.e Enki Pelt, horns. Etc) and Item drop rate affects the texts/skills... does luck actually ha be an effect on smithing texts? I could probably just google this but in either case I try to have both high

is kodama cores really random? i seem to get one every time the sudama wants something warm or round and offer it a core. could be good RNG but seeing as how i normally would spend hrs farming something at a 50% drop chance it seems pretty regular to me

Do all these effects still apply while in yokai shift? Cuz there are bonuses on soul cores like 9% item drop and +30 Luck while in yokai shift. So just killing bosses in yokai form is better for farming right?
In NG+ you get divine equipment and the more higher u go with maps the more drops u get with +1 or 2 or 3... then you can soul match. +1 with +1 will give u a +2 result.
Cowboy, can we get a video of how you afford to temper all these sets you’ve made? How do you farm money? I can’t roll all the stats needed on the two sets I have, let alone make a bunch of other sets
@@FightinCowboy Smithing texts in the first Nioh were considered as item not as material. Materials are all the ingredients for crafting not the text. In fact smithing text are not in the materials part of the invetory but they are in the item part.

I use Child of the sun set and temper all the armor to get luck and i got bonus luck AA+ based or guardian guage. Plus the kodama offering plus the ochoko cups on missions and i get more than one smithing text each boss
How in the world is your luck so high? I followed the build and even have decent tea sets but my luck is only 134...I have spider boy, I have luck on every piece I can, I have the luck stats on my soul cores. I'm at a loss

Tokagemaru is basically the first smithing text you get in the game lol, as that weapon gets used and dropped so often throughout NG!

I think that is what he did in omnyo build? It has insane anima gain and you can spam otakemaru core to do insane dmg

White - Common.
Yellow - Uncommon.
Blue - Rare.
Purple - Exotic.
Green - Divine.
Red - Ethereal.
When you farm the wrong spear guy for the rare spear skills for over an hour.

It does drop, but I've only had like 2 drop and only on dream of the strong difficulty

Tea Utenis also increase your luck. Just choose 4 with highest luck bonus.
Damnit, went and done forget about them tea utensils.
Tea Utensils themselves are also an excellent source of money. I sold all of my non divine utensils today and made 20mil.

You get them as drops. You can combine two weapons/armors with the same + value to increase it.

I'm pretty sure that smithing text count as Item and not as material so it's better the Samurai Blessing rather that Hunter Blessing

Complete mission. When you quit and reset you're rolling back the game state.

yes item drop rate on your armour and your luck do. I failed around 200 times to get Katos text. then I upped my item drop and luck and then I got it.
you don't have your weapon or soul cores in dojo missions. so those don't matter

You have to complete missions that are lvl 170 and above and even then they're a rare drop, but if you have enough glory you can try hidden teahouse
