- Hello everyone,
I have showed in this video how to fix rpcs3 booting failed The selected file or folder is invalid or Corrupted.

You're the man. Thank you so much....... Oh and if anyone is running into the same problem as I was with ISO tools then make sure your ISO file is EJECTED before you patch it.

@@fightinggamerman1 Yea I spend about the same amount of time before I realized that I had to eject the ISO file from the drive....Funny thing is that after going through all that to play The Las Of Us, the game didn't even work lol it kept crashing because of shader problems.

@@fightinggamerman1 lol. bro if you want to look into an upgrade. build your own pc and buy the best cpu out right now. That's what i did, i ended up building a AMD 7950x build. sick experience and the performance is like a rocket ship

For anyone who's having problems with the invalid ISO file even though u dismounted ur iso , U actually have to dismount BEFORE PATCHING IT , or else the error will pop up even if u dismounted it afterwards.
If u have already patched it when it was mounted , dismount ur ISO file and patch again , U should be able to resume as usual . Hope it is of much help . 👌

@@paavoxy In file explorer, under "This PC" where you can view your hard drives, one of them should be a Disc Image file, right click it and click eject.

Just went through this tutorial and I can tell you right now that bro got my games to work. RPCS3, like it probably was for all of you, was easily the WORST Emulator I've had to set up thus far, but I promise you that this man here WILL guide you through it the right way AND your games WILL WORK!! THIS is the Tutorial you've been looking for, those other ones that exist do not help.
For anyone running into an error, make sure that you do NOT have the disc "open" on your pc, eject the iso so that it doesn't have the file open, then run the patcher, then Iso Tool.
It actually worked! but the process is much more longer than PCSX2. I have to rewatch your video in case I'm adding a new game because I tend to forget. Thank you

You have to find them online yourself. PS3 IRD Files in google should do the job 👍

you 1st show us to patch our iso first then after that you warn us that if we chose the wrong ird we will face some issues and then after that you teach us how to determine which version of ird we need to use... wow great

it actually works but u made it so complicated. Guys all u gotta do is find the ird file and do the patcher tool thingy. after that just open the 3ky thing and decrypt. you will then see a new item ending with decrypted in the same file as your iso file. then just extract the iso file into a map and voila!

It seemed so good, but when using ISO Crypto it said "Invalid ISO file". This file does not contain PIC/D1/D2 data"
After a while it turns out I had the disc mounted, when I ejected it, it allowed me to decrypt it. Time to play some PS3 games :)
@@theminingdog7672 how do you know if disc is mounted or not? having the same issue
@@JoseMedina-qj4qp Go into "This PC" and in the "Devices and drives" section will be a disk icon if it is mounted, right click and click eject on it.

For me it refuses to acknowledge that there's an ISO file that needs to be patched (in IsoTools) as it thinks that it's not what it "should be".
I don't know how else to explain it, it just gives me an error like "Invalid ISO File. This file does not contain PIC/D1/D2 data. Failed, invalid ISO \games\Lost Planet 2 (Japan, Europe) (En,Ja,Fr,De,Es,It,Ko).iso"

Thank you for your instructions and help, for me it didn't work tbh the back and forth extracting and compressing and double folders were too confusing for me personally and I don't want to waste like 10 min to try to get those ird files right and use 3 programs until I can run those old games :D it's just not worth the effort to me personally
my god, i spent hours trying to get this to work for playstation all-stars and finally was able to boot up the game just to get a black screen and now cannot launch it at all.
I had a problem. Instead of decrypting the iso file, isoTools ends up encrypting to a new iso file. I patched the iso file with the correct ird file, then opened isoTools and clicked ISO Crypto, selected the recently patched iso file and start encrypting instead of decrypting, why?

don't mount the iso files before you patch the ird files into it, the ird files will not be patched into the iso and the 3k3y shows the exact same error all the time.

Super helpful but also the worst video ever. Dude you did it wrong like twice in the video and deleted the files just to do it again. This could've been two minutes long and the audio quality was shite. I really appreciate the fix because it worked but you gotta fix this video, my man. But thanks, nonetheless.
Let me streamline for the impatient jerks like me out there: You don't need 8 minutes. Download the tools he includes in the video: 3k3y and patcher. Google search for an ird database and download the ird file with the matching serial number to your game. Use the Patcher tool to patch the ird file then use the isotools from 3k3y to decrypt your iso. After that extract the iso contents to a folder you made with the game title. All set! Just use RPCS3 to run the folder for starting the game. No need for all this deleting and restarting nonsense.

HELP PLEASE! i see all the comments are great but im stuck, When i open IsoTools and select ISO crypto my ISO file doesnt pop up, and i evven tried changing the view to all file types and that said that the file was damaged?
