The hospital's statement says, They are "shocked and saddened" by the nurse's arrest...
Not the nurse's behavior. Not the nurse's actions, Not the nurse's intentions, but here arrest...They were the most fragile newborns, they were in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Where the greatest care must be taken to preserve life. This wasn't an adult, but the most vulnerable amongst us, and the sheer demented nature of the woman's behavior, if not for a camera being placed in the NICU she might have blamed it on the parents, others, anyone, this is not isolated to her.

What 's scary about this video is nothing has changed in 50 years. I had problems during the birth of my son. My regular doctor was on vacation and her substitute was horrible. He left me screaming so loud from labor pains, people in the waiting room were begging him to help me according to my ex-husband. My ex was so worried about my care, he called my father who was a family physician at the time. My father called the substitute doctor and argued with him about leaving me extremely dilated for 10 hours instead of doing a c-section. My father said treating me like that could give me a vaginal infection. The substitute doctor disagreed but finally after many hours he agreed to the c-section. By then, my bones unlocked and my son was able to be birthed in the normal way. My father was correct. A day or so later, I had a severe vaginal infection that kept me bedridden for nearly a week after my son was born. My son is nearly 50 years old. Sad to say, it sounds like nothing much has changed for us Blk women as far as medical care goes.

We live in Kansas and it is a horribly racist state. I’m certain that no matter how bad our care is, that it is far far worse for black women and men. We hate it here and haven’t anywhere close to enough money to leave. We are both struggling to deal with severe depression after losing our only grandchild to an overdose in early 2020. It was pounded into us all 4 yrs that all people, regardless of race, color, sex, etc. are to be treated with equal dignity and respect. I have always believed this, and took this message to heart. As a dam. Yankee practicing in the Deep South, I saw 1st hand how Black pts were treated. I tried calling white employees out, but often times in fear of losing my job, the best I could do was ask for guidance from my Black pts and try to be a good role model. Black OB pts in labor& delivery, postpartum and their babies indeed are not listened to, especially by white male physicians. I am angered and beyond saddened to hear nothing has changed.😢

And it’s sad to still hear about the care of black ppl in healthcare is still poor. Me personally, I nearly died when my doctor ignored my concerns and I ended up with severe preeclampsia! Blood pressure was in the 200s!! And still there was no sense of urgency. The never prescribed me blood pressure medication- just sent me home with high ass pressure!! It’s a miracle I survived. I could go on for days talking about the poor care I have received over the years. We need change!

Sad to say I have experienced this at the clinic in the 80s and so have so many other Black Americans living in Minneapolis/ St. Paul,Minnesota. The paramedics are racist also. Unfortunately it depends on how you are dressed and how you wear your hair.😮 They made my grown daughter walk outside in the snow with no shoes on to get in the ambulance. They act as though they did not want to touch her she was going into a diabetic shock we didn't know what it was as she has started hallucinating. Both white paramedics had discussed on their face when they saw her.I asked him could I get her some shoes because it was a lot of snow on the ground, they told me no. I did not want to dispute in fear of them not taking her to the hospital😢

Not only black babies, but mother’s giving birth to their babies are subjected to awful and unjustified treatment! I’m a victim and a witness to things like this happening in the medical facilities! They are often witnessed, but rarely reported because of fears of retaliation against their person! I am a victim of racial mistreatment in hospitals! I have suffered such racial and bias treatment just 2 years ago! It was horrible the way I was treated and the mental and physical abuse I personally suffered! It’s real! I can attest to that very racial treatment by doctors, nurses, technicians and other professionals in the medical field! So sad! My God is not sleep! I’m still struggling! Time has passed! In the state I’m in you only have a 1 year statute of limitations to file a malpractice law suit! I would love to tell my story! 😭😭😭💔💔💔💔

Not too many articles about it either, which is equally surprising considering the topic! And then we go on to hear that the hospital knew of this and continued on without investigating to see who is doing this?! They then cover it up with ready made explanations to the families….appalling!! I hope they all sue this damn hospital and the higher ups need to be replaced immediately!!!
