It’s so much fun watching your enthusiasm for figure collecting! This reminds me of the time I dragged my own mum to a plaza in Hong Kong to shop for figures, she was mildly shocked at what we spend on these things 😂
I didnt know this figure store exist even though its 5 mins drive from my house. Its in a residential neighbourhood. It looks bigger than Sakura Media in Metrotown mall. Thank you Gwyn for showing us
They have a great selection of figures, they have one in particular I’ve been eyeing for the last few weeks. I’ll have to pull the trigger before it’s gone.
When I visited Vancouver I also checked out Hobby Bee and really enjoyed my time! Like you mentioned, seeing everything in person really helps you get your bearings on what size things are and what you're actually getting yourself into with them; it was my first time seeing a 1/4 scale in person and made me really excited for the first ones I pre-ordered! Also, while there I impulsively picked up a Girl's Frontline figure that I squeezed into my carry-on bag when I flew back home, she was too good a price to pass up LOL. Anyways, loved this video, as always!!
Great to hear you enjoyed your time here, and I hope you also enjoyed this city's blossoms! It's very nice to have the option to select free pickup from a local store's website especially in this time of sometimes outrageous shipping costs!
I am a nendoroid collector and the way I can get though setting up all of them is that I like to and find it fun putting them in all of there different poses/positions.
This is great to see , I follow other collectibles channels as well but i haven't seeing one animé or manga oriented in america that would show around the stores, keep up the good work!!👍
I always forget they are in Vancouver and have a psychical store now! I might go check em out this weekend ^_^. I usually go to Tokyo collectables but I appreciate the options and quite honestly from the video looks like they have more of the stuff that is my style.
Since you asked about it while looking at the Gundams... Gundam model kits can be posed as they are fully articulated. Though the amount of posing depends on each individual model and how it is designed. Some can have some actiony poses like high kicks, while others(typically the larger ones) can't do much more than stand. The action bases allow for a bigger variety in poses though. I think it'd be neat if you tried making one for a video since you did that Asuka model before. Just find a High Grade(HG) that you think looks cool, as they are easy to build and look good without needing to do any extra work. Instructions are also very clear and newer ones are in English too.
Your hairstyle is so damn adorable in these clips, suits you so well! Here in Germany I only heard of one local store before. This one is by Figuya and it's in Berlin. Almost 7 hours to get there, oof.
Same here. There are only 2 stores in my area that carry anime figures: Comex Hobby(yes that's how it's spelled), and my local conventions that happen only 2 times a year for 3 days each.
as a warning i checked their website their nendoroids for example are 20 usd more then the goodsmile website for some and 10 dollars less for others, their pop up parade are mostly the same (again it varies their most expensive PUP is 10 dollars more) always do research because figurines get expensive FAST... ignore my 4k collection in just 1 year however hobby bee does have great prices on their SALE list is worth keeping an eye one, but i do wish there was better search filters
Are you going to any conventions coming up? I watch your videos all the time and I’m shocked to find out you live in Edmonton considering it’s so close to where I live!
Ahh I’m so jealous, I wish we had figure stores in my area 🥲 It looks so fun to be able to go to the store and physically pick up the figures that you want! Then again that would probably make me impulse buy a lot of things 😅
This is the thing. Like in the UK only the big companies have the ability to open physical stores. i.e. forbiddenplanet on our side of the pond. The bigger the city a.k.a london the bigger the store but on smaller cities the stores exist too but are smaller with not much stuff on display. Majority of other 1/7 scale japanese figures are usually sold by only retailers only that has no physical store. Although there are definitely highly sought after stuff that are always sold out after release like pokemon stuff.
im a huge fan of your channel. sorry to say that just now i know that your from alberta, sorry, but hopefully that i can see in person, do you have any plans to go in animethon this year?
There's a reason that American stores charge so much. If you saw how much manufactures charge us for them, you would understand. The Japanese word get them waaaaaaay less than we do. It's often cheaper to buy from a Japanese retailer, and ship it than to buy from a distributor.
You talking about your mother buying you the Winx Club set in the My Little Pony set remind me of something there's a saying a man's most expensive addiction starts with 99 cents
Finding a brick and mortar store that sells anime figures and merch is like a dream.
we need a "gwyn says she hates nendoroids but ends up buying one" montage haha
Love that your mom is not only ok with your collecting, but has actually contributed to it since childhood!

Great shop. For me I love Megahouse a lot. They make very good quality 🎉

Wow! The store looked amazing! I loved the Ruru bunny figure too. The Sakura Miku looks great I love her design!
This is great to see , I follow other collectibles channels as well but i haven't seeing one animé or manga oriented in america that would show around the stores, keep up the good work!!👍
I live a little bit from Vancouver and I never knew this store existed XD but if I'm ever in the area I might swing by and check it out!
I want that Sakura Miku too!
TAITO/Spiritale has been consistent with their scale figures imo.
I think her face is legit spot on, she looks gorgeous
I always forget they are in Vancouver and have a psychical store now! I might go check em out this weekend ^_^. I usually go to Tokyo collectables but I appreciate the options and quite honestly from the video looks like they have more of the stuff that is my style.

i don’t know how many people mention this but ya ma is a good camera women def!
So cool that you got to visit!
So hard to find Kotobukiya Bishoujo figures here in Los Angeles. Seeing them on the shelf there is blowing my mind.
I would love to go to a place like this, it seems so much fun!
Same here. There are only 2 stores in my area that carry anime figures: Comex Hobby(yes that's how it's spelled), and my local conventions that happen only 2 times a year for 3 days each.
oh yeah, mom did an excellent job as cameraperson!
Buying figures from physical store is fun BUT more expensive, compared to buying online.
as a warning i checked their website their nendoroids for example are 20 usd more then the goodsmile website for some and 10 dollars less for others, their pop up parade are mostly the same (again it varies their most expensive PUP is 10 dollars more)

mom slayed the camerawork

This is awesome! I have a store near me that has a plethora of anime figurines too!
Are you going to any conventions coming up? I watch your videos all the time and I’m shocked to find out you live in Edmonton considering it’s so close to where I live!
Dang I thought the LookUp figures were like Nendoroid size or smaller!
I don't think I could ever get my mom to do this with me lol, go Gywn!
Hi gwyn, do you collect figma or other articulated figures, and if not, do you feel like giving it a try
Hobby Bee has a Amazon store front in America, but not much in sale. I wonder why?
oh my gosh i’m in vancouver i wonder if i’ll ever see you
I saw their prices. I wonder where their sales come from.
Ahh I’m so jealous, I wish we had figure stores in my area 🥲 It looks so fun to be able to go to the store and physically pick up the figures that you want! Then again that would probably make me impulse buy a lot of things 😅
Ayyy the got Warhammer 40k stuff!!!!!

Gundam area is the best
Very wholesome :)
this place is soooo expensive. cheaper to buy directly from japan even with shipping sadly
You talking about your mother buying you the Winx Club set in the My Little Pony set remind me of something there's a saying a man's most expensive addiction starts with 99 cents
Cool
I love youuuuuu❤❤❤❤
GUNDAMN!
Anyone else have actual realistic dreams about going to an anime figure store?
Such shops are like non existing outside Japan......
This video was fun to watch.
