HANGUL READING TEST 04: ruclips.net/video/TM1r3VdyGao/видео.htmlfeature=shared
I know that ㅂis like a b/p BUT it seems it sounds like an 'm' instead of ㅁ. Are these just exceptions? As in 부탁합니다 or if it is in the middle of a word as in this example?
Yes, it is an exception. Specifically, ㅂ (bieup) sound becomes a ㅁ (mieum) sound if the ㅂ (bieup) character is followed by a ㄴ (nieun) character in a word.
So 부탁합니다 is pronounced as 'butakhamnida' since the ㅂ sound on 합 is followed by a ㄴ sound on 니.
This same thing applies to many other word that has the same case like 감사합니다 (pronounced as 'gamsahamnida'), 죄송합니다 (pronounced as 'joesonghamnida'), and many more.
@@LearnKoreanwithDaeHangul Wow what a quick response. Thank you. I know it won't be easy but I love the language and the culture (Netflix & research). I learned Latin, Spanish, and French many decades ago at 'O' level standard. This is a different challenge. Seems difficult to move to South Korea though.
Welcome :) Whoa, you know Spanish, French and Latin - this is so amazing! I haven't learned those languages yet. Every language has its own uniqueness and difficulty but since you already know multiple languages, I think that's a significant headstart for learning another language, since you can apply the techniques you already had and practiced while learning those other languages. Hope you'll progress with korean language the soonest :)
@@LearnKoreanwithDaeHangul Thanks, this really confused me !
