When my children were small, I used to make macaroni cheese with beans - cheap and much more nutritious than pasta. However, one memorable day, I poured the contents of the tin of beans (ran out of fresh) into the cheese sauce and to my horror the liquid they were canned in was bright green!
To this day my children repeat the story of how they had Martian Mishmash for dinner (and loved it).

It is similar in Sweden but I don't really think that this is bad, I think a lot of the premade keto stuff is utter crap. I would like to see some of the good keto food but not shelves and shelves of gluten bombs of keto bread. Keto noodles would be a great thing though and even more sugar substitutes. Here, you are not guarantied to find any decent sugar substitutes even in big stores. Keto flours are reasonably easy to access but still quite expensive. If someone would make good keto bread I would certainly buy it but I am not holding my breath, I suspect any product would still be something I wouldn't buy. The only thing I think is reasonably good here is sugar free candy. There seems to be a big market for that even outside keto so that is no longer an issue.

I've been buying the Kaizen pasta for ages. They have two versions: one has 6g net carbs, one has 2g. I stopped buying the 6g version. I only wish they'd expand into lasagna and spaghetti noodles, but other than lasagna, the shape isn't important. It's the same thing, so I just eat spaghetti with whatever shape I have on hand. It's as "noodly" as you're gonna get on keto. The rice makes a fantastic pilaf, too! Magic Spoon is my go-to breakfast cereal. The fruity flavor tastes just like (and better than) either Trix or Froot Loops! The blueberry muffin tastes WAY better than Boo Berry, too! The problem is the price. It costs $10.00 for a measly 7 oz (they claim 5 servings) box. That's $2.00 per bowl! 😳 Now most of those quick keto foods aren't all that keto, either. Read the ingredient lists. Also, a lot of them taste disgusting, like a lot of the cake mixes. I threw away all but one piece (the piece I tried) of a keto cake because I just couldn't stomach it, and they're not cheap, either. The BBQ sauces are surprisingly good. Now most keto products aren't in everyone's grocery stores. I live in a major metropolitan area, and pretty much the only store that carries a decent amount of keto products is actually Walmart.

The reason many of us go low carb is to lose weight but to also break our sugar/eating addictions. The last thing I want to do is learn a whole lot of imitation recipes and start snacking again. I know this is an advertisement but it was also very annoying to see we have keto snacks that are virtually the same crunch as carbs.

Me, too! They're great for so many things! I use them to make enchiladas. Are they tortillas? Nope. Are they "good enough"? For zero carbs, yep. And toasted in a skillet, they make great tostadas. If you stop a little short, you can fold and drape for taco shells - BIG taco shells! 😂 I've even cut them down and toasted them lightly to make bun substitutes somewhat like the outer aisle sandwich thins in terms of size and shape but without the stinky caulifloweriness.

It may seem strange, but South Africa has been catering for Keto dieters (known as Banting) longer than the US. It has been seen as a lifestyle here, not just a fad diet. 1 egg plus 1/3 to 1/2 scoop protein powder plus 1/3 to 1/2 cup shredded mild cheese plus a bit of water to make a batter, 4 to 5 minutes in a large Belgian waffle iron (not those silly tiny ones, they're gimmicky). Right now I'm addicted to apple cinnamon ones using Ketochow apple pie flavor and I add a little bit of cinnamon 'sugar' to the batter. You can double the recipe and it makes an entire meal easily for almost zero carbs. If it's not quite crispy after 4-5 minutes, open the iron up and let the waffle crisp up with the iron unplugged. The cheese gets crispy like the rim of a well cooked pizza. These chaffles substitute for me for just about every craving; for bread, crispy, savory, sweet, or 'cookies'. You can even use the egg, plain unflavored protein powder and stuffing seasonings to make zero carb stuffing.

Again, while I appreciate your choices, for the average person the price of these items is economically out of the range of most people's budget. My challenge to you and any keto/low carb advocates is to provide choices of items that is affordable to people whom 4:33 struggle to make ends meet.
As influencers of keto abs and other diets you should strongly be advocating to these companies to lower their costs to the average consumer. Bottom line is that the average American is not going to purchase these items because of the exorbitant prices. If you want to be a spokesman for a healthy way of eating you should have as your number 1 goal to provide healthy and affordable choices.

@@t.haller6093 What you state is half truths. Supply and demand is a laugh. Bottom line keto foods products are overpriced and these companies are reaping in a hefty money profit. The average person cannot afford these overprice products. To excuse their practices only further frustrate the issues and solutions.
These "keto" companies will continue to practice their practices until the public saids enough and the keto influencers
      take stand against them.
Come on for example a bag of almond flour and monk fruit sweetener cost anywhere from$15 to $30. A bag of regular flour maybe $5. Yes the almond flour is healthier but if you can't afford it, which most people can't it is useless. Please don't try to defend these greedy companies.

More of these videos please! This is what I need. I don't have the time or energy to cook most days so keto feels so limiting because I need more non-cook or microwave options.

I am in Australia & there is basically none of this - there is some bread/wraps but I need to be gluten free & the cost is ridiculous but there are no sauces or anything here - I also count total carbs & the snack bars here that say low carb for net carbs are insanely high total carbs

    • @signalfire6691

Usually they will say 'keto friendly' but the carb count for one serving is either your entire carb allotment for the day, or the serving is tiny...

We arent used to as many 'boxed' ingredients as in america and there still are VERY few easily accessible keto alternatives. The low carb bread tastes like cardboard, the only pasta I've managed tovfind are downright nasty and LMNT is prohibitively expensive. Still making everything from scratch but I guess at least its not ultraprocessed rubbish
